How to retrieve/recreate previous tagged library?

A computer engineer deleted my Elements program which had 10 years of photos catologued/tagged. I can't find the original Elements disk (9) so have had to buy Elements 10. Is there any way when I load it that I can retrieve/recreate all the previous tags as going through each phot manaully and retagging is going to be a big task.

The main question is to know if the catalog, which is a folder containing a file 'catalog.pse9db' is still there. Before doing a search, make sure to make hidden files visible. If you can find it, PSE10 should be able to find it and import it in its own format.
Otherwise, your only hope if you don't have a backup would be if you have 'written metadata to files' in the organizer. In that case, the tags are stored in the files themselves and can be restore by creating a new catalog in PSE10 and importing all your pictures.

How do I recreate an iPhoto library?

I am having trouble printing an iPhoto book on my iMac and so I decided to move the library that it was in to my laptop (it worked for the last book). Instead of just moving it over the local network, I dragged the library to Dropbox. There it is stored as a bunch of folders. I don't know how to get the laptop to recognize those folders as the components of an iPhoto library. Any tips?

There should be a bunch of folders and many individual files. If you have them all put them in another folder, name it iPhoto Library, and see if it will work. The inside of an iPhoto 8 (09) library looks like this:
if you don't have all of those files/folders you won't be able to create a library out of it. The exception are the Before Restore folders. You may or may not have more than one.
Personally, I would not use the dropbox method over an LAN.

Hard drive crashed, data was recovered! How do I recreate my iPhoto library?

My external hard drive crashed but all my data was recovered. All the iPhoto library stuff is in a folder but I'm not sure if I should just copy it all into a new library...or what. If not, how do I figure out which are the photo files and what is not needed.

Drop the folder you recovered onto the iPhoto icon in the Dock. If iPhoto opens and you see your library then you've dodged a bullet. If iPhoto doesn't open then you'll have to start over with a new library.
Launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and select the option to create a new library. Then open the recovered folder and drag the Masters folder (if there is one) or the Originals folder into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same events as your old one.

How to get a previous iTunes library recognized in OS X Lion

I've been using iTunes for some time now - I have my iTunes folder stored on an external FW hard drive partition. Doesn't seem to be recognized by iTunes in OS 10.7.x Lion on my Macbook. My iPhone now says it is over capacity, I can't organize my iPhone apps in iTunes, which is synced to the iCloud, may just make an appt w/ an Apple genius to sort this mess out... Will post answer if I get one :-)

We need the exact error message or detailed description of what is happening. If it really says it is not recognized that only happens when you use the library with a newer version of iTunes and then try to use it with an earlier version. Is this a case of where you didn't have the external drive attached before starting iTunes?

as we know,in MVC architecture,all requests from the jsp pages are submit to the controller servlet,then the controller manipulate ejb to access database,it don't allow the database access from the jsp page.
who can tell me how can i combine the tag library with mvc architecture appropriately?

You can't! If you decide to limit the JSP to be part of the View component, obviously you should not include tags that directly access the database. If the strict MVC architecture is less important to you, then the tags can save coding time. It's your choice.

Locate the iTunes folder from the user profile on the rescued drive, typically at X:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes. Delete the "empty" iTunes library from your current User's Music folder and copy in the originial library in its place.

Paging using page tag Library

My JSP is using page tag Library. When I click the Next page it returns next page. How can I change my JSP using page tag so that when the next/previous link is clicked, I should see the next/previous 10 records and so on.

Which page tag library are you using? There are several.
I would suggest that you look at the documentation for that library.
Unless you show us what the code you are currently using is, we can't suggest changes.
Oh, and please don't just copy paste your whole JSP here. A relevant excerpt of how you are using the tag library and how you create the links should be more than enough. And please use code tags.

How can I restore my previous iTunes library?

I placed the iTunes library file in an external hard drive and had the folders containing the usic in different locations (pc hard drive and two external HD). But then some months ago the compueter from which I were running iTunes crash down ans subsequently I had to replace its hard disc though I managed to keep all the folders wwith my music. Now my question is: how can I do to restore my previous library? Since I have a really big amont of albums, I had them distributed in different devices (5 iPods + 1 iPhone) so I think it is nit possible to get the whole library back form one single of the devices. Thank you for your help.

Me too, also upgraded to IOS 5 last night and all the apps, photos, books have disappeared from the iPod Touch. I can see them in iTunes, but can't figure out how to put them back into/onto the iPod.
I tried the right-click and choosing "restore from back-up" without success, as it had just backed up from the updated iPod without all the stuff on it.
I could use a really simple explanation: how to put the stuff that I can see in iTunes on my Mac, back onto the iPod touch??
And yes, it would be nice if Apple just posted a clear, simple explanation of how to do this . . . I haven't found that yet . . .

I have the value of a variable defined in JSP#1 (JSP#1 is not a form) using JSTL tag:
<c:set var="id" value="${articleForm.article}" scope="session"/>Now, I have an object 'id' in the session scope. The object 'id' and all the information, which are defined in JSP#1, are forwarded to JSP#2.
JSP#2 is a form. But, the 'id' is not used in JSP#2.
JSP#2 has a submit button and then, a servlet takes over the control after that button is clicked. All the text fields in JSP#2 together with the object 'id' are forwarded to this servlet.
I have two questions:
1. I should put this object 'id' in a request scope or a session scope? Currently, it is in a session scope.
2. How to retrieve the value of this object 'id' in this servlet? (I do not want to print the value out. I want to retrieve the value and store it in a database.)

I'm not sure you understand the concept of a session object.
Java objects stay on the server. There is no transmission between the web browser and the client.
The scope just sets how long the server "remembers" that variable.
request scope - only lasts one request. Once a web page is returned to the client, the server forgets all request variables.
session scope - lasts for one user - across multiple requests/web pages.

You might have to do it like this:
int articleID = Integer.parseInt( (String)session.getAttribute("id"));
The Integer.parseInt method takes a String as a parameter - while session.getAttribute() returns an Object.
This code will work if the object stored in the session is a String.
The object stored in the session is ${articleForm.article} What type does articletForm.getArticle() return? That is the type you need to cast it to when retrieving it from the session.

How to use a tag library in multiple web applications?

Morning all,
Environment: Tomcat 5 on Apache2 using Mod_JK connector on Windows XP
I have developed a custom tag library and tested it out and its working great.
Now, How do I use in my other web applications? Do I need to copy the JAR file to webapps\app1\WEB-INF\lib, webapps\app2\WEB-INF\lib etc directories?
The problem with this approach is, if I happen to change the tag library code, I will have to make sure that I remember to copy the new JAR file to the above mentioned directories. Ofcourse I can write a simple ant script that would do it for me, but I was wondering if there was an efficient and yet simple way of achieving the same.

I placed the jar file in the $CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib directory. But where should I place the taglib TLD file? And how should I reference it in web.xml?
