How to retrieve songs from iphone

My harddrive crashed and I installed a new one.  When I installed Itunes it will not let me import the music that is saved thru itunes in my phone.  How do I get the songs from my Iphone to my Itunes?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Last year I copied all my CD's onto my PC, then via iTunes onto my iPhone, I subsequently gave the CD's to charity.
Since you gave the CDs away, you should delete all the songs from those CDs because you no longer hold a license for those songs. You are violating the copyright license.

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases from the phone to your Mac's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music purchased from other sites and/or copied from other sites, then if you haven't got a copy of them on a backup then you will need to find a third-party program that can copy them off the phone.

  • How to transfer songs from iPhone 4S to iPod Touch 4G

Hello users of iPhones and iPods etc all over the world...
My mum recently brought an iPod 4G and wants to transfer her songs from her iPhone 4S to this new iPod. I have spent all afternoon trying to work out how to via iTunes and Apple Support, however there is no use - I have tried backing the iPhone up to my laptop and booting it to the restored iPod Touch, however with 3 attempts all failed. Both devices have the latest iOS, so there is no issue there. One thing is that I'm using Windows 8 Asus X501A, however this should not make any difference from if it was a Windows 7 for that fact.
I'm usually quite fluent with my iDevices and technology, but have just gone clueless.
    Many thanks

  • HT4527 how to transfer songs from iphone 4s to new computer

Basically all I want to do is transfer a couple of songs to my phone from my office computer. Now I downloaded itunes on the desktop. But I cannot sync the music because it will delete all my songs from the phone. So I thought of transferring all the songs first to the itunes on the desktop and then sync it with my phone along with the new songs. IS THAT POSSIBLE, PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance :-)

  • How to transfer songs from iphone to windows pc without using itunes

Have a iphone i want to transfer song files from iphone to a windows pc at work that does not have itunes and I cannot download itunes to the computer because it is a work computer.

There are several programs available that run on a PC that can do this, but they would need to be installed also. If you can't install iTunes it is doubtful that you could install any of these 3rd party programs.

  • How to play songs from iPhone 3G in iTunes on the Computer

    Hello
Maybe my question is some bit silly but I am also more than perplex at this moment. For storage reasons all my iTunes song files (no purchased songs from iTunes store, but all CD imported) are stored on a server volume.
Syncing my iPhone 3G together on my PowerBook with iTunes works well but ... when I am on travel I would like to play (only to play, not to transfer!) the synced songs from my iPhone on my connected PowerBook on iTunes in order to stream the music to an Apple Airport Express Adapter. I can see the songs greyed out on my iPhone but I can not play them.
Is there something wrong in my iTunes configuration or does I have missed an important "concept"? Do I really need to carry with me my iPhone together with an external HD drive where all songs files are stored on it? In this "application" case the iPod functionality of my iPhone 3G would be really useless. I can belief that.
Thanks for any advice, best regards
    André

    Hello
Thank you for your response. I would like to play the songs on my iPhone on the very same computer, account and iTunes Library I synced my iPhone with. Although there is no play access to the songs on my iPhone from iTunes. I thought I could take them with me and play the songs on my iPhone to the very same computer I synced it with. It Seems not to work as concept? So I think I have to buy a "stupid" docking station to make it complicate.
    Thank you, André

  • Using iPhone (4S): FROM iPhone, how to erase songs from iphone and itunes simutaneously

Can it be done? Thank you.
P.S.: I love iPhones. New to it. Tried all the rest.

If you delete music from your iTunes library and then sync your phone the deleted music will be removed from your phone too.  However, by design, songs will not be deleted your iTunes library just because you delete them from your phone.  (People often delete music from their phone in order to free up space but want to keep the songs in their iTunes library in case they want to play them there or on other devices, or want to keep the option of syncing them back to the phone in the future.)

  • How to transfer songs from iPhone to ipod

I Bought a used iPod touch 2nd generation. I also have an iphone 4 with songs on it. I just want to put the songs on the iPod. They are both authorized to the same Apple ID, but I can't seem to get the songs on to iTunes on my laptop, they only show up if the iPhone is plugged in. There doesn't seem to be a way to transfer the songs anywhere. Not the laptop, iTunes, or the iPod if it's also plugged into the laptop. I am beyond frustrated! Help!!!

There is no direct iPhone to iPod transfer. The 2G does not support directly redownloading iTunes purchases to the device.

  • TS2529 How to retrieve info from iPhone after an update deletes them

I just plugged an iPhone into iTunes for 1st time in over a year. Updated everything. Now my contacts, pics etc have gone. HELP

Restore the device from the backup created prior to the update.
FYI, never update a device or computer without first ensuring that a backup exists.
It is never a good idea to rely on a single device for storage of important things like pictures and contacts.
The iPhone is designed for the user to sync their contacts to a supported application on the comptuer, a cloud service, or an Exchange server.
The iPhone is not designed to be sole storage for photos/videos.  Like with any digital camera, it is up to the user to copy these off to a computer regularly.
Going forward, use the device as designed and there will never be a concern about lost data.

  • Can I retrieve songs from iPhone to new PC?  Old PC died without backup

My problem is that my old PC died a blue screen death and although most stuff was backed up, my music wasn't.
I don't seem able to synch the tunes from the phone back onto the new PC. Is it only one way, computer to phone?
Also I now have new tunes on my PC because it tends to be quicker to download.
Am I doomed to separate iTunes libraries forever and never synching my music?

    Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
As noted above, Apple have designed iTunes to support one-way media transfer, computer to device, with the small exception of device to computer transfer for purchased content. However a number of 3rd party tools exist, ranging from free to overpriced, which are able to transfer some, more or perhaps even all of your meaningful data from your iPhone to your computer. Your favourite web search engine should offer numerous hits for *iPhone to PC transfer* however you might like to start with a quick read of this post from Zevoneer for options on moving data back to your computer. Although it mainly deals with iPod recovery he mentions some tools which are iPhone compatible. There is also the free manual method mentioned somewhere which wouldn't normally apply to the iPhone (no disc mode) however free tools such as iPhone Explorer can get you around that limitation.
Best of luck with restoring your data.

  • How to delete multiple songs from iPhone 5S without losing form iTunes? The unchek function has not worked. Why?

How to delete multiple songs from iPhone 5S without losing form iTunes? The unchek function has not worked. Why?

Sorry I had to reply through your profile Gail from Maine, my PC has java issues. In any event, when I delete them directly from my device everything is perfect and cool. However, in the rare instance I want to add new music that I actually buy in stores (I know, quite the unique and old-fashioned idea...but hey Im an audiophile) once I upload the tunes, everytime I sync my library it re-adds everything that I spent hours deleting. In a perfect world, I thought I could maintain a massive iTunes Library, and add or delete (remove) songs from my iPhone to save both memory or keep my iPhone selections more current/apt to my musical "tastes" at that time. I know about the whole playlist thing, but thought there might be an easier way. ie - checking/un-checking the little box next to the song name, and then doing a sync. Again, everytime I do this however, whether everything is checked or un-checked it adds the entire library! So frustrating. Any suggestions. Thank you graiously in advance for your help.
