How to return to a document-intern hyperlink with adobe reader x?

A well structured WORD document contains a lot of internal hyperlinks. They survive within the equivalent PDF-Dokument. Therein it es quite easy to follow the links by clicking onto them. But there seams to be no possibility to return to the source position of the specific hyperlink. I'm sorry that I found no help until now.

  • When I open a document in Firefox with Adobe Reader 9, I am unable to print it (no problem when using Internet Explorer)

I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit), using Firefox 8.0. When I open a document with Adobe Reader 9, I am unable to do anything with it (print, save, etc.) other than view it. When I use Internet Explorer I don't have this problem.

Not sure what you mean by truncated troubleshooting report, but here's what I copied from "troubleshooting" under "help". My printer is selected as the default printer in Devices and Printers. Also, remember that a document that won't print in Firefox prints fine in Internet Explorer.

  • Unable to open attached documents in emails with Adobe Reader 9

I get emails with attachments but when i try to open,  i keep getting a warning saying .... ADOBE READER CAN NOT OPEN DOCUMENT BECAUSE IT IS EITHER NOT SUPPORTED FILE TYPE OR FILE HAS BEEN DAMAGED.....etc.    I presumed that as the attachments  were most likely WORD documents (and I only have Microsoft WORKS) that this was the reason.   So i downloaded the free Microsoft Word reader but still unable to read.   I send the emails to friends to open and they send them back to me.....Its becomming a bit annoying for them understandly....Can anyone help me...Many thanks

By email client I mean the email program: Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, ...
But anyway, this is of no importance; it is your file association that is wrong: Word documents (.doc, .docx) must be associated with Word, or in your case Word Viewer, not Adobe Reader.  This is why you cannot view your attachments.
On the other hand, the installation of Word Viewer should have corrected that, not sure why it didn't.
What I would do if I encountered your situation:
uninstall Adobe Reader and Word Viewer
reinstall Adobe Reader and Word Viewer

  • Internal Error with Adobe Reader 9.3

We have a web browser application(ASP) that receives a fax and saves it as a PDF.  We have people who go in and assign the individual faxes to different individuals to work.  We were using Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and upgraded to Adobe Reader 9.3. Since we have upgrade to version 9.3, a few people are getting an error "An internal error occurred" from adobe reader.  They are constantly opening the pdf files and assigning them to individuals to work.  They have to go into task manager and end task and then restart Internet Explorer.  Once they do that, they are abele to open the pdf with no problems. It seems that they get this error once or twice during the day.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks

You can get that error if there is still an old Adobe Reader plugin in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder.

  • How to get PDF's not to open with Adobe Reader in Safari?

I recently got Adobe Acrobat Pro. It's a great application but now when I open PDF files in Safari they appear in some strange viewing mode (shown here:)
instead of the usual view (probably some Preview plugin) where there are no navigations except when you mouse over, then you have the ability to download the file or to open it with Preview.
Is there some plugin I'd have to delete or something?

Do you have Adobe Reader installed? If so, open it and go to Preferences > Internet. Uncheck the box at the top of that window where it says "Open PDFs in browser using:", then quit.
Quit Safari, launch Terminal, enter this line and press Enter:
defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -bool false
Type exit and press Enter, then quit Terminal.
Launch Safari and try to open a PDF file; it should render directly in the browser.

  • How do I move a file from "Recents" in Adobe Reader for Android to a folder in "Documents"?

How do I move a file from "Recents" in Adobe Reader for Android to a folder in "Documents"?
Files from Google Drive are appearing in "Recents" where I cannot organize them hierarchically.
I cannot find a user manual for Adobe Reader for Android with this level of detail.

    Hi John,
Files opened via Google Drive are not listed in ‘Documents' section of Adobe Reader, because they are read only files. If you really want to save these files to ’Documents' then please follow below steps -
Open the file from Google drive in Adobe Reader.
Tap on the Comment icon placed at top toolbar(Second icon from the beginning)
You would encounter a 'Read-Only document’ dialog, tap on Save button.
Once you performed above steps , your file will be saved in /Download/Adobe Reader/ folder.
Hope this will solve your problem.
    Thanks,
    Adobe Reader Team

  • How to access hyperlinks in Adobe Reader X when the hyperlinks were created in Microsoft Visio then exported as a PDF?

I created some hyperlinks in Microsoft Visio then saved the document as a PDF. When I opened the document and scroll over the shape I set the hyperlink to, it doesn't even register it as a hyperlink. The cursor doesn't change shape as a click able object, when I do open another PDF file that has hyperlinks it responds correctly to each shape (those hyperlinks were created within Adobe so I don't know if that has anything to do with it). I have looked all over the internet and found a couple of forums that answered a couple portions of my question but not entirely hence why I am reaching out now. If anyone could assist with this I would be very grateful.

Commonly there are three ways to create a PDF from MS Visio.
The first is a Microsoft process built in to the Office applications.
For issue resolution (if any) associated with this process you must investigate what is available over in Microsoft web space.
The second and third methods are predicated on having Acrobat installed.
Method 2 makes use of the Adobe PDF virtual printer.
This is installed with an install of Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro (but not with Adobe Reader).
This virtual printer outputs to PDF rather than paper. As with output to paper the output to PDF provides no interactivity (e.g., links).
Method 3 makes use of PDFMaker.
Acrobat's PDFMaker is installed with an install of Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro (but not with Adobe Reader).
PDFMaker can be configured to pass Office applications' hyperlinks through to the output PDF as PDF Link annotations.
    IMPORTANT DETAILS !!
#1 - For Viso you must use Acrobat Pro.
#2 - The Acrobat / Viso versions must be compatible.
#3 - (as with all software) the application version(s) used must be compatible with the OS used.
Consequently, for any meaningful suggestions to be forthcoming you must identify the specific method used eh.

  • Using 10.6.8, internet pdf documents not opening using Adobe Reader; how is this corrected?

Using 10.6.8, internet pdf documents not opening using Adobe Reader; how is this corrected?  I've tried changing "sharing and permissions" to "read and write" as suggested on other help sites, but this did not correct the problem.

I had the same problem---contacted Adobe and their service rep helped me by
    A.   Deleting  Adobe Reader from my iMac's Applications in Finder
    B.   Downloading Google Chrome browser and then
    C.   Downloading the latest Adobe Reader for Mac 10.6.8 in Google Chrome--it works
Adobe acknowledges problem with the latest Snow Leopard update 10.6.8 and with this work around, I can open PDF's using the Google Chrome Browser.
Is this the ideal solution---NO.  Safari is my main browser. I now have to use a separate browser for PDF's.
Am I happy to be able to open PDF's---YES
You can't believe the time I spent to solve this problem before calling Adobe for help. My Apple Care policy expired a month ago . As I use Photoshop Elements, I was not charged by Adobe for their help on the telephone.

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for your response.  My operating system is XP.  When I try to open a pfd document I just get a series of letters and symbols in a dialog box.  The top of the box says "select the encoding that makes your document readable".  I can choose Windows, MS-Dos, or other (there is a long list to choose from).  None seem to make a difference.  If I save the document to my desk top I can right click on it and choose an option "Open with  AdobeReader 9" and it opens fine.
    Thank you,

    Hello:
What operating system does your computer use? What happens when you attempt to open a PDF document rather than saving it first? Please include any/all error messages. Also, have you tried opening documents from other locations or just one in particular?
