How to Return to older Bios Version

Its dedicated [ danmarc] but works for all...
who ask for a reflash bios back to older version
@  [S10/S10e Fan Problems Collecting Info for Lenovo] S10 fan runs too fast, too often, too loud]
i dont want to answer direct in the "fan thread" so i do this here:
Because images worth then thousand words here Winphlash:
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/91w5-ax.jpg
Possibly here the actual Flash select...
http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/91w5-ay.jpg
untick the two hooks here
V flash only if bios is newer
V flash only if bios is different
To return to a flashing "old" version ....
 http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/91w5-b0.jpg
Then click OK and go flash the file, which means it the write Bios.bak at first in the folder,
so you have a backup, then the chosen BIOS.wph, then it flashes the file.
rename with the correct names, you can of course ..
Bios.bak to example 142C51WW.WPH ... then you have the old version as a named backup ..

I just flashed in version 38 to give it a try.
So far everest reports a much cooler temperature(more then 10 degrees) I wonder if its really cooler or was there a change in how the bios reports the temperature?

  • Where are the older BIOS versions gone?

    Hi
A few weeks back, I've upgraded the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1001sq to the latest version (F66). I noticed that the laptop is running considearbly hotter since then and I want to revert to an older BIOS version. When I go to the updates page on the HP website and click on "older versions available" I can only see the F66 version on the page I'm directed to ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-115746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4... ), although a long list with many versions was available till recently. Where are the older versions gone?

Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
Since your notebook does have the UEFI Diagnostics installed, you should be able to rollback to the previous version that was installed. Use the firmware management option to do that.

    Thank you for your query.
I understand that you would like to restore the bios in your notebook.
Here is a document to assist you with that process.  Restoring the BIOS
You can also restore the bios to the default by going into the bios screen.  Along the bottom you will see an option to restore defaults.

  • How to revert to older patch version on fresh system

I have got fresh install Solaris 9 , 117171-07 how can i revert to older patch version.
I need this for the purpose of testing, i cant find previous release DVD ? any help ?

    I don't think you can.
You'll have to jumpstart it from an older distribution.
If you have a support contract, sun should be able to give you the older iso's.

I didn't like the most recent update to Firefox, nor did I like the one before that. Is there any way to return to a previous version of Firefox? If not, then I'm off to check out Google Chrome via my Safari browser. I don't want to use Firefox in the newer versions at all.

  • ?Download older bios versions

    Hello!
I have noticed that everytime I upgrade the vga bios to a newer version, the performance of the display card is slighty decreased. In 3dMark 2000 it has obtained 8900 points when I bought it. After the first upgrade - 8500 and now, at the third, 8100.
I want to know wether it is possible to download older versions of the vga bios and "roll back" the latest upgrades.
    10x.

you may be able to find an older version of your bios at various sites along with bios flash utilities like NVFlash or WWFlash. but this is dangerous and if you dont kow how to do it , it could kill your card    .......a site i would start with is http://www.mkvtech.net ,they have lots of bios' for download. again the warning : DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WOT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!

I do not like the result of the new IO on my Ipad and want to return back ... HOW TO ??

This answer is unacceptable ... the Ipad is NOT property of Apple and I MUST be the one to decide if I like a new version or not BEFORE the changes happen. I think I need to find a solution to this or ... CRAP THE IPAD.

  • How do you update older lightrom version catalogs so they open in 5.3

When I updated lightroom to 5.3 I did not update all the catalogs that were operating in 4.4 how do I update those catalogs.

Just open them with Lightroom 5. The program will know that the catalog needs upgrading and will give you the option to do so.  Note that the updated catalog will be a copy of the original. The original catalog will be left intact and usable if you still have the old version of Lightroom installed.

  • How do i check my bios version (K8N Diamond Mobo)?

Anyone can help me with this question?
I'm planning to flash my bios.
    thanks.

You can enter the BIOS by hitting "del" key and selecting first entry (Standard CMOS) and going to system info on that page at the bottom
    or
if you can read the post screen fast enough it's in the first few lines from the top.  Will say W7100NMS V1.8 and a date and time
    Should say 1.xx,
    i.e 1.3 or 1.7 or 1.A

  • How flash to old bios version (GT780)?

How can I flash my bios of the GT780 notebook to the previous version of the bios? Currently, the most recent version is installed: 1761_10E.zip
I might wonder why I would like to do this: I have some problems with my laptop (see other posts) and I'm not sure these problems were there when the old version was installed. I would like to find out whether the old version would solve the issues.

Quote from: Svet on 05-January-12, 02:03:02
and what was your old version?
    I don't know  :( :(
I bit of a long story: my brand new laptop had a defective USB port. MSI flashed the bios to the most recent version and on return I noticed the fan issue (the issue I PM-ed you about). Didn't notice this before, but I'm not 100% sure about this. So I would like to try to flash it to an older bios version if possible. MSI tried to repair the fan issue, but they didn't succeed. All in all: bought this laptop after summer and up to now not been able to use it because it has been longer for repair at MSI than on my table...

  • Qosmio X300-14Y- How can I find the old BIOS version 1.90?

    Hi,
First of all; I am so sorry for my bad english knowledge..
    Im from Turkey.
I use x300 14 y since one week. factory bios version for vista 32 bit 1.90. But I upgraded to 2.10.
How can I find old bios 1.90 setup file again. ? Please help.......

You are right. On Toshiba download page you will not be able to find older BIOS version.
When the new BIOS update is realised the old one will not be available for download.
If you need older version contact nearest authorized service provider.
They must have it. Be cool and talk with them. Maybe they can send it to you per mail.
