How to revert from 3.1.3 to 3.0?

I am sure this must have been asked here, but no search I performed got a hit. 3.2 and 3.1 leave my iTouch 1G unable to use its external microphone, but 3.0 is ok.

Here's links to the stuff I used. Ther version of iTunes I used was 8.0. If you need anything else, let me know.

  • How to revert from Authorization Without an ID to Authorize Adobe ID or Vendor ID?

When I downloaded Adobe Digital Edition, I was given the option to Authorize my purchase with and ID or Without it. I obviously, had no idea what that meant so I went ahead and selected without ID authorization. Turns out I am not able to share my book on any other device, wich of course I found out much later on after hours of figuring why I couldn't install the book on my tablet. Please help!!!! how do I revert this? Many thanks

You can restore iCloud data if you don't know the ID and password for the account it is stored in.  If you think she may have used yours, go to icloud.com from your computer, sign in with your ID and password and see if it's her data in the account.
She can also try to find her ID as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5625.  Then she can reset the password as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

  • Too many bugs! How to revert from 2.1.0 to 1.4.5 (SFR builds)

So far I have uncovered the following bugs/problems in 2.1.0 SFR build, causing me to revert to 1.4.5:
    1. SMS's are sometimes sent to different recipients than displayed, when this happens the message is found under both IDs.
    2. Phone doesn't match caller ID to contacts on inbound calls when country code is missing in the caller ID.
    3. The phone takes 4 seconds to look-up contacts when typing in a name in the dialer
    4. The SSL bug, preventing you from browsing some sites
    5. Alarms "just dissapear" (when setting a daily alarm - it suddently is just gone)
All in all, these bugs in conjunction with no real improvements in 2.1.0 makes a downgrade to 1.4.5 inevitable.
Can anyone please help me understand how to find a 1.4.5 OS Doctor?
Post relates to: Pre Plus p100ueu (SFR)

    Hello!
First I do appologize for these troubles.  We have already discussed your 4th issue from another post but for the others I need to ask some questions:
    1.  SMS's are sometimes sent to different recipients than displayed, when this happens the message is found under both IDs.
The contact that your use to send out the SMS, is is linked to other contacts maybe to those that the phone sent sms too as well?
The additionals that got the SMS, you do see them in the conversation views in Messaging?
What kind of troubleshooting steps have you already done since upgrading to 2.1.0?
    2.  Phone doesn't match caller ID to contacts on inbound calls when country code is missing in the caller ID.
Do these contacts in your phone have the country code already in them?
What account are the contacts comming from?
In Regional Settings app, what country is selected in the Phone Numbers box?
    3.  The phone takes 4 seconds to look-up contacts when typing in a name in the dialer
Approximately how many contacts do you have on the phone?
Have you tried a restart yet?
If you have any SIM contacts, is the SIM card on the phone a 3G SIM card or at least one issued with the Pre Plus?
    4.  Alarms "just dissapear" (when setting a daily alarm - it suddently is just gone)
Does the alarm dissappears right after setting or later on it could dissappear?
Have you conducted any erases of the device since upgrading to 2.1.0?
Please keep me posted on these.  As for downgrading to 1.4.5, we only support the latest version for a given device so we do not support dowgrading the device to an earlier build.  Do appologize for this.

  • How to revert from 10.5 (Leopard) to 10.4 (Tiger).

    I recently upgraded from OS X 10.4 to 10.5.
I don't like 10.5 at all and want to go back to 10.4.
My setup: Dual G5, two internal disks, one external, recently installed (to take advantage of Time Machine!!!) One of the internal disks holds the OS files (now 10.5, used to be 10.4). It also holds all the users (3), the Applications folder, etc.
In a nutshell, what I think I could do is this:
    • do a clean install of 10.4 on the external disk.
    • Use Migration Assistant to move users from the internal disk to the new (external) installation.
    • Copy the Applications folder from the internal to the new installation (I'm not sure if Migration Assistant does that).
    • Copy the System 9 System Folder from the internal to the external disk.
    • Re-boot from the external disk and run from it to make sure that all needed applications are running fine.
Now to get rid of 10.5 and re-install OS 10.4 on the internal disk, which is where I want it:
    • Do an EraseandInstall of 10.4 on the internal disk.
    • Use Migration Assistant to move all possible things (Users, maybe Applications) from the external to the new installation (on internal disk).
    • Re-copy System 9's System Folder to the internal disk.
    • Re=boot from the internal disk and eventually remove the (temporary) installation on the external disk, after I'm satisfied everything is running OK from the internal disk OS installation.
    Does this procedure make sense?
    Additional questions:
    • How can I tell if I will be able to boot from an external drive? The one I have is a LaCie FireWire drive.
    • Does Migration Assistant preserve all the current authorities, etc. for the various users?
    • Does Migration Assistant move the Applications folder? If not, is there, generally speaking, a problem with just copying this folder (as opposed to installing the individual applications)?
    Thanks! All suggestions are welcome!

I'd consider installing 10.4 and OS 9 on the external disk on one partition. Clone your current setup to another partition using DiskUtility. Backup your important files to DVD's, another HD, or wherever in case the external HD becomes unreliable.
Use DiskUtility to erase the internal HD and clone the 10.4 install to the internal HD.
I'm not sure I would rely on migration assistant to move stuff from a 10.5 install to a 10.4 install. Could be asking fro troble. I'd manually move stuff (pics, music, email, etc...) from one place to the other.

  • How to revert from iCloud Drive to regular iCloud on iOS 8 (iPad)?

    Hey all,
I recently updated my iPad's OS to the new iOS 8. As part of this update, we get the option to upgrade to iCloud Drive from the old iCloud system. While I am sure this new system has a number of useful features, it has unfortunately taken away the absolute most important aspect of my productivity at this moment. I am a medical student, and I have been using Notability on my MBPr 13 (OS X Mavericks, latest version) and on my iPad. With iCloud, I was able to sync my files and notes seamlessly. Now that I have updated my iPad to iCloud Drive, there is no such iCloud Drive feature for the Mac and my syncing has been disabled. If there is ANY solution to this, I would greatly appreciate it. I am certain that other such programs have been disrupted because of this iPad/Mac incongruence with respect to the iCloud Drive system.
    Thank you in advance!
    Steven

Thanks for the advice re: backing up and installing the OS. Just so you know, it is not an issue of Accessing the iCloud Drive via the website, but rather having it installed or integrated etc. into my desktop OS such that a particular app (Notability) is able to sync across my laptop and iPad devices. Though it may seem trivial, when you are manipulating multiple .pdfs, writing hand-drawn notes/diagrams/annotations across lecture slides, and creating presentations that you are presenting from your laptop to the class, this functionality really increases productivity. It was simply a pleasure to use the app across my devices before.
That being said, thank you for the info, I may take the Yosemite Beta plunge, but not quite yet. I am waiting to hear from the developers (Ginger Labs) of the app to confirm that the syncing will work well on Yosemite Beta.

  • How do I revert from Mavericks to Mt. Lion?

I have tried the suggestions contained in similar threads without success.  My configuration may be causing problems.  Here is my configuration and the pathway I would like to use:
As shown below, I have a MacPro early 2008 running OSX 10.9.  I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.3.  I back up Time Machine to an external hard drive and also to a separate internal hard drive that occupies one of the bays on my Mac Pro, but it is NOT the same hard drive on which Mavericks resides.
Before migrating from Mountain Lion 10.8.5 to Mavericks, I did a final backup of Time Machine to each of the two drives mentioned above.  I then proceeded to install Mavericks 10.9.  For me, this was a mistake.  I normally wait until at least three updates have occurred before moving up to the next OS X offering.  The many flaws I have encountered in the way Mavericks currently operates have funally exhausted my patience and I must revert to 10.8.5.
I would like to make the change using Time Machine for both the Mountain Lion operating system and all of the applications and documents.  If I were going to reinstall Snow Leopard 10.6.8, I would start by reinstalling the OS using the DVD which I have and then I would restore the apps and documents from Time Machine.  However, neither Mavericks nor Mountain Lion have DVDs.  I believe that they both can be installed by Time Machine, but this is where I run aground. I don't know how to make it happen.  I have tried and have been hindered by popup windows telling me I can't change the Applications.  I can't go on from there. I would prefer to dowload from the hard drive version of Time Machine rather than the external drive for the simple reason that the internal hard drive is faster.  If that is not advisable, I am certainly willing to go with the external drive.  It is my understanding that I can restore Mountain Lion directly from Time Machine along with all of the documents and other stored items such as Applications, Library, etc.
I have tried to do this, but can't seem to get the hang of it.  I need a tutor who knows how to do the job using this path.  Assistance will be greatly appreciated.

A SIMPLE METHOD FOR REVERTING FROM MAVERICKS BACK TO AN EARLIER OS X VERSION
There were so many caveats and side issues included on various instructions that didn't apply to me that I thought it was a bit confusing. However, I got the idea that restarting while pressing down the option key would give me access to the Recovery drive. I tried it and it gave me several choices. The top one was irresistible. It says "Restore From Time Machine Backup." I had done full backups using Time Machine to both an internal hard drive on my MacPro and an external hard drive just before installing Mavericks. I clicked on "Restore From Time Machine Backup" and selected the external drive since I wasn't sure that the internal drive would work. The internal backup drive is faster, but I felt the external drive was a safer bet. A window came up asking me to choose which backup I wanted to use. I picked the one I made just before installing Mavericks and it went to work. It took a couple of hours to finish, but as it restarted and Mountain Lion 10.8.5 appeared on the screen, I was totally relieved. I feel liberated. Everything works. No wacky glitches to say "gotcha!"
When you consider all of the written instructions, many of which are very difficult to follow, this very simple method of restoration is amazingly easy. I hope it helps others who are considering moving to OS X 10.9. Just get a good external Time Machine backup of your present system before you venture.

  • How to revert back to 10.6.8 from mavericks

How to revert back to 10.6.8 from mavericks, a lot of programs i need to use are unsupported by the new update.  what can i do to revert my imac back to the previous OSX

Why not simply udate your apps, it will be much easier in the long run if you do. However if you want to revert back to 10.6.8, then simply use your SL discs to reformat your HD, then update to 10.6.8 and then use Migration Assistant to migrate your apps and other data from your TM or bootable backup clone to your HD.
Going forward it's much wiser to do you due diligence before updating. You have old apps that are probably PPC based, Apple supported those until Lion was released 2  years ago. The longer you wait to update those apps the more painful upgrading will be in the future.

  • How can I revert from 10.10.2 to 10.10.1

I am have been having trouble with some of the Adobe CC applications since I installed 10.10.2. I spoke with Adobe customer support and they said that the only current fix is to revert back to 10.10.1, but I've been unable to do so.
    What I've tried:
I've attempted to download 10.10.1 and install it, but I am unable to complete the install as the installer won't allow me to select the drive with 10.10.2 already installed on it.
I also tried completely reinstalling Yosemite from disk utility, but this just gives me a fresh copy of 10.10.2 again.
Sorry if this is a N00B question, really not sure how to proceed from here.
For reference here was the direction from Adobe Customer Care:
Nikhil: I am sorry for the hold. I was checking my team. This is a known issue and it started happening after Apple released 10.10.2
Nikhil: And it is logged as a bug and both Adobe and Apple are working on the fix. But right now there is only workaround to go back to 10.10.1 and there will be a fix soon as it is on high priority.

    Thanks for the response.
Just to clarify, I'm guessing that the 10.10.1 update isn't going to cut it as it's not the full installer correct?
