How to revert to iPhone OS 3.0
I have an iPhone 3G 16 GB which I recently upgraded to OS 3.1.
How can I revert to OS 3.01 or 3.0?
My two cents on tethering. I used the solution and it worked fine. Then 3.1 Now you hear things like they (AT&T) will eventually have it but I hear that that will be an additional charge. That don't make sense since we all (Iphone users) are already paying a premium for data. What the difference if I surf with the phone or my Mac with the phone acting as the modem, data is data. Seem instead they should spend more time worrying about getting their network up to handling the data required and use all the monies they have been raping from all the millions of users rather than paying bonus's for the hi-payed executive golfers..
Ohhh it cranks me up when I think of things like this.

JKaiIf you've updated from a very old 1.2 software version to 3.0.1 then you are out of luck. The modem software has been updated in the process, and going back is almost certainly not an option. You'll just have to wait until the apps are updated.

That depends. If the phone was unlocked by the carrier, then it should be fine.
If your phone was unlocked by unauthorized means, then yes, it will be locked again. -

How to revert to older version of iTunes
I'm always apprehensive of updating iTunes to newer versions.
Just bought an iPhone 5 64GB and I'd like to sync it with music.
My older phone (32 GB 3GS) had complications when I first bought it, so I'd chosen never to update IT or my iTunes since.
The 3GS is still running on an older version (3.1.3 [7E18]) and it's been amazing through my 3 years of use.
The version of iTunes I'm running is 10.3.1 from back in 2011 (I believe) and I'm quite happy with it.
My iPods AND iPhone have given me no problems these past few years.
In order to sync my new phone, I'm expecting that iTunes will require the update.
So... Is there a way to SAVE my current version of iTunes (10.3.1) in case the current one is not to my liking?
I was hoping to save a copy of it to a USB key.
I'd also appreciate instruction on how to revert back to this older version if I need to later.

ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below (click on it to enlarge), then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

We r getting dump(cause: Field symbol has not yet been assigned) in production for ABUMN tx, so, when debugged, it came to know that, the Field symbol is coming from REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY!!
So, for some reason the system message text is not getting output in ALV-->Dump!!
So, found a NOTE causing this problem!!
So, pls. let me know that, How to revert back this/any SAP NOTE? pls. in detail steps wise!!

charles altmanReplying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

It sounds as if you had a device that was jailbroken/hacked to operate on your carrier. Upon updating the iOS, it is now locked back to the original carrier the device was locked to.
Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. You will need to make contact with that carrier and see if they provide unlocking services, and if they do, if you qualify for an unlock. Otherwise, you are out of luck. One that carrier can take care of the unlocking. -

1. iPhone sound output is stereo, not Dolby 5.1 compatible.
2. iPhones do not connect sound output by standard USB. The connecting device has to be iPhone compatible. -
