How to RIP a CD with MediaSource Organizer ??

I am using Media Source Orginazier Ver. 3.30.35 and am trying to rip a cd. The instructions tell you to click on the Rip button on the task bar... I have no Rip button on my task bar and have contacted customer support and they suggest to reload the software. I have and no luck. There is still no Rip Button. My daughter also has the same software and she does not have that button either. I know I can Rip in Napster, but when somethin says it can do it I want it to work.
Need Help before I go crazy.

When you put an audio CD into your PC the dri've should appear in the Sources box in the top left of the MediaSource window. Only when you select that dri've does the Rip button appear.
What happens when you put a CD into your PC?

  • How do I get the Nomad Jukebox 3 to work with MediaSource Organiz

I tried to transfer songs, but MediaSource Organizer (Version 2.02.06)does not show the Jukebox 3 file library. I downloaded the latest version (CMS_PCAPP_LB_2_03_29.exe) of the application and when I tried to install it, I got the following message:
"An error occurred while launching the setup (0X80040707)."
The creative download site said that I would also have to download the specific Nomad Pack for my player, but they provided no specifics.
Please tell me which applications/drivers/firmware I need to download/install and in what order. Please be very specific. I purchased the Nomad Zen for my daughter, which is why we are using MediaSource Organizer. The software for my son's Jukebox 3 has been misplaced. I assumed that all Jukeboxes would be supported with the MediaSource Organizer.
    Thanks in advance.

snd: To add to Jason's advice, also make sure to read the FAQ post, specifically search on "lost your CD". Even though this is for the Zen it's still applicable, and it details the software you need to install.

  • How to rip dvd's with newest MacBook Pro?

Hi, what is the best application to rip dvd's (with the latest MacBook Pro)? I want to save them and then edit in iMovie.
I've seen that Handbrake isn't suitable for 10.8.2 anymore.
    Thanks!!

I have seen a couple of posts about this, but they all seem to go in a different direction. The general theme of the problem is Handbrake not working on Mountain Lion but working on Snow Leopard.
Ever since I installed Mountain Lion on an external drive, I basically haven't been able to have Handbrake properly run. Using a disc as a source, it has wavered between stopping early with only about 5-10 minutes encoded to taking the full amount of time but only resulting in a short clip or a couple of short clips.
I think it has only worked once or twice total.
Since I still have Snow Leopard installed on my iMac original drive, I will often go back to that install and test HB and 99.99% of the time, it works without a hitch, thus giving me no other choice to believe it is something with ML or the HB install on ML at least.

  • HOW THE **** do I get Creative mediasource organizer to work decentl

Tell me, where is the 'organization' in this program? This is the most unorganized peice of **** I've ever seen!
While trying to add a bunch of files, you end up getting them added via song , song 2, etc... so instead of them being in order via albums, it's just a bunch of random songs, each being song ... And them we can mention the fact that, 90% of time, when you try to add files the stupid program can't seem to figure out who the artist, genre, and song number it is, so you must manually enter this for hundreds of songs...
Then, you finally add these songs, only to get... A jumbled collection, that ISN'T from to the final song.
Is there another program that I can use to upload to my Xtra then this POS?

Newsboys2004: MediaSource as a program isn't bad, in fact it's quite good, just a little hard to understand perha
    ps.
It isn't entirely clear to me what you are doing with the files as you don't give much detail. Are you trying to add the files into the PC Music Library, or are you copying them to the player?
To copy files to the player you don't *have* to copy them into the PC Music Library first, you can go straight from copying from My Computer to the player itself.
If you're after a quick guide on how-to-copy refer to this post.Message Edited by SSR on 04-28-2005 04:43 AM

  • How to use Photoshop CC with Elements Organizer 12

    Hi!
I have Photoshop CC and Elements Organizer 12. However, whenever I choose to edit my photos with Photoshop CC, they don't show up as "Edit in Progress" in Organizer. When I save the photos from Photoshop CC, my changes don't update in Organizer. However, Photoshop CC is an option in the Editor menu in Organizer, so Organizer knows that Photoshop CC exists.... Whenever I edit using Elements Editor, everything works as normal. I'm paying money for CC and I can't use it, so I really hope there's a solution!
    -BalinKingOfMoria

    Hi Balin,
Did you ever find a solution to this.  I'm using Elements 11 with CC 2014 and having the exact same frustrating problem.  It's so bad I revert to using Elements editor most times now.  I rely heavily on organiser for my 50k catalog.
    Cheers,

  • Mediasource Organizer has stopped working

    Hi
I am having a problem with Mediasource Organizer version 2.0 with a Windows7 system. The organizer worked fine until about a month ago and I have been trying to troubleshoot it ever since. When I open the organizer the library is missing in the window and if I click on any part of the window an alert opens and says "Mediasource Organizer has stopped working" and the organizer window closes.
I have searched and searched trying to find out what has changed to no avail. I have tried uninstalling the program and Windows or something won't let me. I have tried downloading Organizer 5, but is fails to install. Would 5 not install because the earlier version is still there?
I am completely perplexed and have little idea what to do next. Does anyone havea possible solution? Thank you in advance....... Glenn

I'm wondering why my computer thinks I have a "Creative Gameport" device, when there is not actually a physical gameport connector on the card (Audigy 2 ZS).

  • Mediasource Organizer - How can I reorganize my mu

    Hi
I have had a a Zen Xtra for just over a month and immediately transferred most of my albums onto it using Mediasource organiser. All my music is stored in D:\Music and there are no sub folders as I did not change the media folder settings for my PC music library (the defaults were set to None). As my library builds up I am encountering problems such as duplicate file names (even though the songs are by different artists). I currently get round this by renaming tracks e.g Sing (Travis) and Sing (Carpenters).
I have just looked at the help topic Advanced Use Of Creative Mediasource (better late than never!), see link
    http://dmzweb3.europe.creative.com/S.../,Case=obj(623)
This suggests changing the settings so that each album is stored in it's own folder. My questions are as follows :
. Will I have to completely delete my PC music library and start from scratch in order to organise my music in such away or is there some other clever way of doing this.
    2. If there is no easy way of doing this then it would probably take me a couple of days to do manually. Is it worth it or should I just persevere with what I've got.
    3. If there is no easy way of doing this is it worth changing the settings so that all future music transfers are organised in sub folders.
    4. If the answer to 3. is yes and I keep all my existing music in the same format, then when I add new albums I will have a mixture of music which is in sub folders and which is not in sub folders. Is this a bad idea.
I very new to mp3 playes so any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the both for the help/suggestions. I get my music in to d:\mymusic by either ripping in Mediasource or coping mp3's using Nomad Explorer (when I use Nomad explorer I copy the mp3's onto my Jukebox Zen Xrtra first and then do a sync using Mediasource Organizer).
I'm not aware that I changed Mediasource settings to None but I suppose it's possible.
I have now changed my settings to create Artist/Album folders within my d:\mymusic folder so going forward everything should be more organised. I have ripped a couple of cd's since changing the settings and these new albumns are indeed in artist album sub folders.
With regrads to reorganising my existing music, I would like to try micromouses suggestion but I don't see how this will work, as the tracks in d:\mymusic prior to me changing my settings are not in artist/albumn subfolders, so how will doing this actually put the tracks into sub folders in d:mymusic. Am I not fully understanding your instructions? From what you said I think that what I need to do is use Mediasource to delete everything from my PC Music Library and then copy everything from d:\mymusic back into my PC Music Library. Can you confirm that this is correct.
I'll also look at the tagging programs and see if one of these can help me.
    Thanks again

  • Conflict between MediaSource Organizer and ZM Media Explorer when ripping tra

I don't know if this is a known problem or not but I am hoping someone can explain what I am seeing here.
I have both MediaSource Organizer and ZM Media Explorer set to rip CD tracks at 60% quality with a Variable Bit Rate. If I rip tracks using MediaSource Organizer, it shows the tracks have a Bitrate that is indeed variable. However, if I rip the same tracks using ZM Media Explorer, the Bitrate displayed by MediaSource Organizer is always 60000. When I view the mp3 files using Windows Explorer, both files are exactly the same size which would imply that they are both being encoded as requested.
Could it simply be a problem of displaying the correct bitrate when tracks are recorded with ZM Media Explorer?
Thank you for any help you can provide!
    John

micromouse, You are correct that MediaSource does not actually display anything indicating the file is recorded with VBR. I made that determination by examining multiple tracks where I then saw different bit rates as expected. Obviously, if I were recording with CBR, the bit rates of all files would be the same.
Let me try to explain the problem a little differently.
If I set MediaSource to rip tracks from a CD with "VBR, 60%" quality and then use MediaSource to rip 0 tracks from a CD, the bit rate displayed when I view the PC Library in MediaSource shows that each track has a different bit rate as expected. There is no problem here.
However, if I set Media Explorer to rip tracks from a CD with "VBR, 60%" quality and then rip the same 0 tracks from the CD, the bit rate displayed when I view the PC Library in MediaSource shows that every track has the same bit rate of 60000. I believe this represents a problem.
Now after using EncSpot to view the details of the mp3 files as previously suggested by another board member, I verified that the same track ripped by each program (MediaSource and Media Explorer) has the same characteristics although there is a slight difference in file size by a few bytes.
I hope this helps to better explain what I am seeing.
    Thanks, John

  • Creative MediaSource Organizer....Will it work with Zen 16GB

I still have Creative MediaSource Organizer that I used when i had my Sleek Photo. I really liked using this program to edit the names/albums. Will this program also work with the ZEN 6GB? If not, what program do I use?

Great! Thats what I thought it would be, they were probably covering themselves with the 'works best with' so no one could come back and say "My mp3 player won't play the movie files" you know what some people are like

  • FAQ: How do I use Revel with the Elements 12 Organizer (Mobile Albums)?

FAQ: How do I use Revel with Photoshop Elements 12 Mobile Albums?
Photoshop Elements lets you upload your media to Adobe® Revel and then access it from any device. Media already present in your Revel libraries is downloaded into Elements Organizer, so that you can work with it. Adobe Revel is an app that lets you store your media in the cloud and share it privately or publicly. See the links below for additional informtion about using Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 12 with Revel.
If you check the option to make all your Elements photos and videos available in Mobile Albums, then Elements will move everything over to Mobile Albums, and upload it all to your Revel Library. Note that with mobile albums if you delete an image it will be deleted inElements and Revel.
If you have some mobile albums that you only want in elements and you have already made them mobile albums, there is a way to move them back. You can drag and drop a mobile album onto a local category. Media in the mobile album is downloaded as it exists in Revel and stored locally. Subsequentally, the downloaded media is deleted from Revel. You can select one or more of the photos in the Elements Organizer and right click on one of them and select Remove From Revel at the bottom of the list. That will move them out of Revel, and keep them in the Elements Organizer.

Also, bear in mind that few users of the full version of Photoshop are familiar with Photoshop Elements or Organizer, so many of us won't even know exactly what you mean.
I have to get back on this, Just recently bought Elements and Premiere for Mac (actually more for fun and possible use for a minor workshop, not for my professional workflow) and only had a short glance at it.
Just glanced at it again (still briefly) but there is a difference that you can't use in Bridge.  Organizer has some shortcuts to fix images and creates a new version of the original.
This is not possible in Bridge. Also the Output Module in Bridge has a different approach to the create section in Organizer.
For me Bridge is the right tool and I'm sure "tweetybird" will benefit also after having learned a bit.
Especially the menu tools/Photoshop and the options in there will give better results (and far more control) to 'fix' ( I rather speak of optimize ) files to your satisfaction
But If you still need options from the create section that you will not have in the Output Module there is no objection to use Organizer for this by pointing it to the folder with finished files.
Its just a matter of the right tool for the right job

  • MediaSource Organizer Never Delet

Let's say I have 0 albums on my computer's playlist. And let's say I have a brand-new MuVo2 FM unit. I connect it via USB, I run a sync, and voila, I have the exact same ten albums on my player.
But then let's say I get tired of one of the albums. So I delete it from my computer playlist, meaning I have 9 albums now on my playlist. On my next sync, I expect my MuVo to also have 9 albums. I expect it to get rid of the one that's not on my playlist.
But no -- after doing some searching on the board, I've come to the conclusion that Creative MediaSource Organizer never deletes anything from my MuVo2 FM unit. Is this true? I can't believe Creative expects to compete with Apple if they don't allow a sync to be a true sync.
If they're afraid of newbies losing their music somehow, then should't they at least have the option to allow the Organizer to delete files from the MuVo?
I've tried the Realplayer since one of the messages says it does sync, but Real makes a total mess (no directory structure, and it doesn't even write the playlists).

  • Creative MediaSource Organizer V

I just started using MediaSource. I think it's the best software of the bunch. The question I have is how can I get back the window (Organizer view open) that shows your artist folders and album folders. For some unknown reason MediaSource closed down and now this added window in gone. I can't fiqure out how to get this view back.
    Thanks for your help...

    Hi SSR,
I'm having the same dilema; the method you demonstrated no longer works (it did in the previous version 2.xx): The button that you are pointing to below no longer exists when the player (in this case, Creative Zen Touch) is selected in the "Sources" window. The only available views, with the player selected in "Sources" window, are "Details", and "Thumbnails" (the "view button you point to appears differently with the player selected also) . However, when the PC Music Library is selected in the Sources window, the button you point to DOES appear, and it IS possible to view "Album", "Artist", and "Genre" panes. This (at least for me) is no longer an option when the player is selected as the source. This started when I upgraded the firmware on my Zen Touch to v. 2..0, and then upgraded to MediaSource v. 3.30.2 (forgot exact previous version number--it was 2.xx.). With the 2.xx version of MediaSource, I WAS able to view the Album, Artist, and Genre panes within the left (content) window. Do you know if there is a way to get these panes back when viewing the player content?
Your problem is not caused by MediaSource. It is due to the nature of PlaysForSure devices. For PlaysForSure devices, the track viewing is by folders and files, just like the way you browse in Windows Explorer.

  • Creative MediaSource Organizer Alternati

Ok, so I have a Zen Vision M, and I can't figure out a way to listen to the songs that are on my mp3 player through my computer. The only way I've seen that even offers me the ability to do this is through MediaSource Organizer, and that quite frankly is terrible. Everytime I want to find a song I have to find the artist folder, then find the album folder, then find the song. I can't stand it. I'm the type of guy that is looking for a song, not an artist. I can't figure out a way for it to have all the songs on my mp3 player to come up in like an "All Tracks" list or anything - I'm stuck having to go through 3 different folders everytime I want to hear a single song. Now, is there any way that I can listen to my songs on my computer without using this player? I'd prefer to use Windows Media Player since I'm most familiar with that, but so far I haven't been able to figure out how the hell to play the songs, only sync them. I definitely don't want to have to upload everything from my player back onto my computer in order to listen to it. If by some chance the ONLY thing that allows me to play the songs on my mp3 player through my computer is Creative MediaSource...then can someone please tell me how I can set it so that it just pops up with "All Tracks" in alphabetical order or something? This is killing me. Thanks guys.

I've also been looking for an alternati've to MediaSource. It used to be a good program, but the whole MTP Playforsure crap ruined everything.. I really wish I had not upgraded my Zen Xtra.
Its makes the performance really slow and brings in way too many limitations.
I mean it takes nearly 4 mins to get MediaSource to display all the files on my Zen Xtra, and Vision M, that's just unacceptable. Before I upgraded the firmware it only took a couple seconds. And I was able to sort the music by artist, Genre, album, and the using the search feature brought back results instantly.
I know that Playforsure support was a major request for some users, but I wonder if they knew that things would wind up like this! Becuase this decrease of performance and loss of functionlity, was not advertised in there description of the new firmware!
And its not fair that I wasn't even given a choice with the Zen Vision M!
I used to have an MPIO HD300 and a iAudio X5. Both of the players were both MTP I think, but they showed up as a dri've letter in Windows and any music program could access the files. I wish Creative would take a hint from that.

  • MediaSource Organizer problem on Windows

I just installed everything that was on the creative CD that came with my Zen NOMAD Xtra 40gb but ever time I run the MediaSource Organizer and something pops up telling me that there was a problem and then it will ask me if I want to send an error report to microsoft. I am running windows xp home edition sp. When I installed the software on my windows 2000 computer it worked fine but I don't use that computer anymore anyone know what the problem could be? Thank you for the help in advance.

Frankly the problem IS Mediasource with Win XP Sp, IMHO. I had terrible luck with it for 3 days (I'm a wiz at figuring out difficult software too!) constant crashes in Win XP SP (and no thanks I don't "want" SP2). So I went to www.nomadness.net and saw the post overwhelmingly praising Notmad (redchairsoftware.com) even though it's not free ($25 register fee).
USB recognition of Xtra interface within Mediasource is dicey at best I found.
My daughter has a Xtra too (bought two both working great) and runs Mediasource on Win 98 SE with zero problems. So it must be Mediasource and Win XP not playing nice, I figure.
I strongly recommend uninstalling the CMC and keeping only the needed driver on your PC. You can transfer songs with Windows Media Player if you need a "free" solution, but nobody does it better than Notmad. Also there are lots of free ripping software choices as well.
Good luck and post your progress.Message Edited by LivNgD34Dgrl on 0-07-2005 06:53 AM
