I'd like to rip my DVDs each to a single file I can import into iTunes so I can play them on my various Apple devices and not lose quality, extras, menus or surround sound (5.1 or 7.1) done with an Apple program. I see many ripping applications online that are Windows based. I need Mac. I want to have the same features and quality available on the one file as I would if I were playing the DVD on my DVD player.
I have an AppleTV2 (plugged into a 55" LED TV), iPad1 and iPhone4.
I'm also on Lion 10.7.4 now.

How to rip cds, and convert them to play on 3g iPhone
Thanks to all the great advice and knowledge on here, I was able to make my own ringtones for the phone. But alas, I have been unable to rip a cd, and convert it to play on my iPhone. Any help for newbie would be great. PS, gotta make momma happy, or taint' no one happy. LOL

hi, i purchased a 2 dvd digital set. i cant just download it straight to my ipad. they said i have to down load it to my i tunes, then can transfer to i pad. im not seeing how to click the files from my email, and get them into the i tunes acct... ugh.
i do not have a mac home pc. just a regular pcI had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. A few days ago my phone decided it would only charge when it was shut off or on a car charger...from what I have read it sounds like it is some chip possibly because they tried changing my charging port and it did nothing. My main concern right now is more about the 1100 pictures I have on there and getting them off. My 3 months old entire 3 months of life are on that camera and my photo stream is only showing 59 photos. How do I either get my pics into my photo stream or somewhere I can retrieve them with out emailing 1100 pictures. The place I went gave me a fully charged battery to try and get everything off my camera and I tried everything before it died. I tried backing it up and it kept failing? I tried sharing all of the pictures on icloud and still cannot see them anywhere. I am slightly freaking out here and hesitant to get it fixed with out getting pictures off it just in case something went wrong and they all got deleted or something and I honestlyl really do not want to pay a bunch to fix it because we are upgrading in a few months. Any help will be greatly appreciated because I will die if I lose those picutes.

my iPhone was stolen last night and I'm trying to recover all my photos from that phone and get them on my mac laptop. The iCloud photo stream only imported 1,000 photos from my stolen phone. How can I retrieve all of my other photos?
You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

Ok I can't seem to get my apps,music, or photos from my iCloud from when I first setup iCloud on a iPhone 4. How do I get my things back from the iCloud and get them to my new device?
If you no longer have the phone or have any Backup of it at all, you can re-download your apps and your content from the iTunes Store by logging into your Apple ID at settings> iTunes & App Store. Unfortunately you can no longer recover the data that was associated with those apps.
So far as your photos go, you can recover any photos that were in photo stream and taken less than 30 days ago by logging in with your Apple ID to settings> iCloud> photos. Unfortunately you will be unable to recover any photos from your camera roll. -
I ripped a new CD to iTunes and backed up to the cloud. The songs are already on my iPhone 4S, but I can't get them on my iPad. I already connected the iPad to my laptop and selected "Sync with the iPad over Wi-Fi". On the iPad I forced a Sync. Help!

This guide shows you how to rip DVD to MP4, AVI, MP3, WMV, WMA, FLV, MKV, MPG, RM, 3GP, and other video/audio formats supported by popular mp4 and mp3 players by using DVD Ripper .
Step 1: Install and run DVD Ripper
Step 2: Import DVD.
Place the DVD into your DVD drive and click the “Load DVD” button to load DVD.
Tips: This DVD Ripper can load three DVD source, you can load your DVD from DVD drive, DVD folder in your PC and also IFO file.
Step 3: Video settings.
Select the output video format you want from the “Profile” drop-down list.
Tips:

1: Trim Movie
If you just want to convert a clip from your DVD movie, you can click the “Trim” button to open the Trim dialog, you can trim a duration of the selected title or chapter by either dragging the Start Time and End Time sliders or setting the time parameters in each corresponding field.
After you set the trimming time, the length of the captured clip will be shown in the Select Length box for your reference.
2. Movie Effect
If you want to change the original video effect, you can click the Effect icon to set the video brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. You can also set the special effect for your movie to cater to your need.
3. Video Crop
With Aiseesoft DVD Ripper you can remove the black edges around your movie video by checking the “Crop” option, so you can watch your movie on your portable players in full screen.
There are three methods available to crop your video:
Method 1: Crop by selecting a crop mode

After you select an output aspect ratio and finish the crop, the result can be previewed in the Preview window of the program main interface.

Which os do you have? Which version of iPhoto did you update to? Did you check iPhoto's trash? Finder's trash? Did you repair permissions and restart your computer after updating?
