How to rip with Media Source when not Administrato

It looks like MediaSource cannot rip audio CDs when user is not logged as Administrator on Windows XP SP2.
How can I make it work for regular users (not Administrators) ?

There are also problems getting Creative software to recognise that a player is attached when not logged on as an Admin - see this thread. Windows Explorer see the player and so does Windows Media Player, but MediaSource and Creative Media Explorer don't.
C'mon Creative, your software doesn't seem to be fully compatible with the user groups that XP Home uses! What are you going to do about it's

Tracks ripped with EAC Play alphabetically, when ripped with Media Player Play in the correct or

I just got my new zen touch. I downloaded the new firmware update and it seems to be working great.
The only problem is that when I add music that I've ripped with Exact Audio Copy c/ Lame Encoder to MP3, The tracks don't play in the correct order on my Zen Touch.
When I add an album ripped with Microsoft Media Player, it plays them in the correct order.
I think that the ID3 tags have all the appropriate info becuase when I hold my curser (on the computer) over the eac ripped tracks, the pop up menu list the track #, artist name and song title etc.
I've read the FAQ and it doesn't matter if I select Album-Play, Artist-Album-Play. I've tried all combos.
Anybody with experience using EAC? I've looked in the settings and I can't find anything wrong.
Is it possible that EAC is using and ID3 Format that my computer recognizes but my zen touch doesnt.
But Media Player uses an ID3 format that it does recognize.
Also, The album ripped with media player was ripped to WMA. While all the tracks ripped with EAC that are giving me trouble were ripped to MP3.

What software are you using to copy? Make sure both that and the drivers are completely up-to-date.

Why is it the first think everyone wants to do in JSP is write a chat application?
Not really an easy way to do this, as HTTP is a "pull" model. You send a request, the server sends a response. The server can't send anything unless you ask for it. That kindof puts a damper on things like instant messaging.
A couple of workarounds
1 - refresh the page every once in a while to check for new messages. An easy solution but nowhere near optimal.
2 - check out pushlets www.pushlets.com

Now, i want to build a j2ee project with ORACLE ADF bc,but this project may be used in several diffrent databases for example oracle db,ms db,mysql and so on.however,if i have developer this project in jdeveloper and this project connection was config as a oracle database,and then,can this project be reused for other databases espasially including the model codes? if yes,how should i do?

Do you want to supply a function-pointer to a DLL so it can call[back] your VI? Here's how it can be done with .NET, though, that solution requires a C compiler. A single "VI_to_function-reference" utility could handle all cases where the callback passes no parameters. Maybe someday somebody will share that dll.
Did you know that LabVIEW can use Events for some COM-signals change? See pic. (Note: DTR is not listed - - )
Another question is another function's prototype is WORD SetTestType(WORD comHandle, bool type1, bool type2, bool type3), I tried to use a boolean control and a Boolean to (0,1) node in labVIEW to pass parameters to CLF, I config the bool input value as U8(according to C++ bool type) and U32(according to WIN32 BOOL type), it dose not help, when I execute the VI, LabVIEW will be disappeare, it seems to be closed, I must start it again.
Could someone has similar experience on this points?
It's easy to crash LabVIEW misusing CLF - maybe there's another reason for the crash besides bool mis-match(?) Do you know which "Calling convention" is required? What type is comHandle? (where does comHandle come from?)

Media Source does not recognize my CD/DVD bur

Greetings,
I have an LG ?Super Multi DVD Dri've? model number GSA-408B which can burn CDs and DVDs but Creative Media Source does not recognize it. I am using version 2.00.. It simply acts as though I have no devices capable of burning CDs installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Creative Media Source Player not fo

Hi... I am lost & confused!!!! I purchased a new hard dri've & motherboard. I reinstalled my audigy 2zs card & loaded the install disk. To my suprise media player did not load...in fact I can't even find it on the original install disk!! I used the media player all the time and even plugged in my old hard dri've and behold..media player was on that hard dri've!! Can anybody tell me why it is not appearing on the original install disk whenin fact it was there when I loaded it the first time I purchased the card? It appears everything else will load off the install disk EXCEPT media source player.

There are differences in the details of how the various Creative soundcards work, and it would help me if I knew which one you have. I get the impression it came in the computer, and you don't actually know the answer. Where exactly are you trying to select what u hear? The Creative Media Source Player program (I've not used it, but it seems odd for a "player" program to do recording)? The mixer program? Which mixer, Windows or Creative's?

Software Installation Problems with Media Source and Nomad Explo

Hello Creative Users,
recently I had to reinstall my operating system on the PC. I have an IBM Thinkpad R30 with a Sitecom USB2.0 pccard. I am running WinXP Pro SP2 with all latest updates.
I have a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra with Firmware .20.08 and an update harddri've of 80GB.
As long as I was running the software on my previous installation everything worked fine.
I installed the driver .26.02. This recognized the Jukebox. Musicmatch is able to communicate to the Jukebox and recognizes all files on it.
When I installed Nomad Explorer I got an error ctregserv failed because ctin...dll is not found.
When I tried to install Media Source from the original disk it showed an error after 30% Media Source not found. Install Media Source before continuing.
This is what I received now with all verisons of Media Source and Noamd Explorer incl. .30.0.
Can someone help me as synchronizing with Musicmatch is a pain.

Hi everyone,
as I saw many questions regarding installation problems with Mediasource or Nomad Explorer
in this forum I will answer my own question right here. I was pointed to the answer by a friend with a similar problem on some other software.
When trying to install the Creative software under WinXP SP2 I happens that the registration does not work. the reason are missing write attributes to the keys for
Creative software. To correct that go to: Start, Run and enter regedit. Hit ok and you are in the registration editor.
Find the Creative location unde HKEYS_SOFTWARE. Click right mouse button and choose
properties.
Check full access for your user as well the system user. click on advanced and mark both all the users you want to install from. Check the lower box below the user window sayin something about roghts being propagetd to lower folders etc. Cklick conform and ok, click confirm on previous screen and close regedit.
Now you should be ok and able to install.

How to optimize MF Media Source for MKV playback (containing H264 and AC3)

I've built a working Media Foundation Media Source for matroska (MKV files) using the sample for an MPEG Source. I've finally gotten it to a point where I can play the file and both video and audio are visible and audible. I followed the MPEG1Source
code quite closely actually.
However, I can't seem to make the video playback smoothly. Audio plays fine, but video just can't seem to keep up with the playback speed. It stutters and breaks up into blocks constantly.
The only thing I have been able to try is to remove as much dynamic allocation of memory as I can. While my parser parses the file and initially creates a bunch of objects on the heap (pertaining to track formatting, cue locations, etc)
, when I start actually parsing video and audio frames, I'm no longer dynamically allocating memory on the heap. I even removed a std::queue for frame lengths and created a fixed length circular buffer instead.
What else do I need to try?
I am simply parsing each of the video and audio frames in the order that they appear in the file. The frames are not Annex B compatible (for H264), so in the DeliverPayload function I replace the length section of each NAL unit within the frame
with a start code of 00 00 00 01. Then I copy the frame into the stream's buffer.
One thing that is very different from the MPEG1Source example is that I am not creating structs that contain all of the video "initialization" data (i.e. MPEG1StreamHeader, MPEG1SystemHeader, MPEG1PacketHeader). Instead, I am leaving all
of it as public variables on my parser class. So I am referring back to my parser quite a bit from the MKVSource class. I don't know if this affects anything.
Anyways, I'd be happy to elaborate to get this working... Thanks!

Just a follow-up:
I was indeed calculating the timecode / timestamp incorrectly. MKV uses a technique called lacing to stitch frames together and save space. While I was separating them and forwarding them correctly to the pipeline, the timecode in the header
for each laced block only applies to the first frame. I needed to add the default duration time to each successive frame laced in the block.
While not specifying the timestamp using the SetSampleTime method caused smooth video, it was actually playing faster than the audio. Each frame _needs_ a timestamp to sync correctly with the audio or other streams.

Creative Media Source Organizer not working

I installed Windows 7 on my computer, then attempted to download Creative Media Organizer 5. It downloaded and installed, but when I attempt to play a music selection with it I get a notice that the program stopped working. Is it a compatibility problem with Windows? If not, what do I have to do to get it to work?

How to synchronize with Media GO WIRELESSLY

Well, the title said it all. When it comes to adding a new song to play phone's playlist, I'm really tire of the lengthy process of plugging in, waiting 5 mins just for the computer to recognize the phone and another 10 mins to sync.
It would be very convenient if there is a way to synchronize with Media GO by using same wifi network.

If your computer and phone are on the same network you can connect the phone using WiFi using PC Companion. Open PC Companion and click the how to connect option at the top and select WiFi. When connected Media Go will find it.

How pausing execution of media player when this Vi closes

Hi,
I would like to use a subvi that executes 20 seconds of playing movie with media player and then pauses. For this I succeed writing it.
Next, I would like the vi closes and when the main vi recall the subvi, I want that the movie plays in the state it finished before.
Is it possible to do this?

this could be done by setting in the "VI Properties"- dialog the options "Show Front Panel when called" & "Close afterwards..." in the section "window appearance". Then let the video play for 20 seconds, when the VI finishes it closes by itself. After this, all local variables (controls & indicators) which are not connected to the connector pane keep their state until you unload them from memory (close LabView). So you can store the current video position inside the VI and start the video at this point with the next VI- call.
Another good solution to save values inside a sub-VI between VI- calls is an uninitialized shift register. If you have difficulties implementing this lok at the example "Single Execution Uninitialized Shift Registers.vi". I found this in my LV 7.1 but older versions should have this example too.

How to have time capsule sleep when not in use

Is there any way to have my time capsule sleep (stop spinning ) when not in use? it runs constantly and gets warm. I need to find out how to make it idle and wake up when my Mac calls for a backup. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how to do it? I have the time capsule connected to a router off of a cable modem. Thanks to all

Does the disk spin up and down continually? Or is it just spinning non-stop?
What model is the TC? Please give the A1xxx model from the rubber base mat.. and size of the hard disk.
Did you update to the latest firmware? When did the problem start, ie did it correspond with firmware update?
Have you played with it.. replaced the drive etc? If this is stock standard it should spin down almost immediately disk access finishes.

If you are still having problems with MediaSource recognizing your Xtra, go to the Support/downloads page above and put in the information about your player. There is a list of software and you should be able to find the plug-in for media source/Xtra.
As for updating your firmware be aware that a lot of people have had problems installing the plays for sure (2.0.03)version. Do a Search (above on this page)?on this player and the firmware problems before trying it on yours. I still have the firmware .20.08?on my 30 GB Xtra and it plays just fine.

How to deal with user session when power goes off

One day I had 170 oracle session connected on oracle database server and and suddenly electricity went off. but server was still running. and after power back on ther same bunch of user try to connect it.So I don't know what happen to those 170 session. does anybody know how to deal with this? I did shutdown and restart of database but I am not sure that is correct way to deal with this kind of situation.

If the database server is still running, the sessions will remain there, but it depends on how they got connected to the server. If they got access through a middle tier which maintains the session and this MT is still running the sessions will still be visible from the database perspective, unless the MT handles the disconnection event.
If the sessions are working on a Client-Server basis, then PMON will mark the sessions as abruptly broken and it will get rid of them. Sessions may eventually remain hanged, but it depends on the topology, so the way you proceed was a clean database restart.

How do I export from IMovie when "not enough room in Heap Zone" error code appears? How can I correct, what to Do.."export movie" insteand of Media browser or IDVD? Finalize movie? I want to burn it to DVD!

How do I export from IMovie to Wondershare Creator to Make DVD and share hour long movie when I am unable to "publish" movie on Media Browser of IDVD because the error code "not enough room in heap Zone/ " appears and function is aborted.
I shortened the movie, that is no cure...Correcting date info on clips does not pertain. Why would Apple throw roadblocks in your way without solving problems they create?
A techie made an appointment on the phone and was totally incapable of addressing the problem.

Instead of Share to Media Browser, what happens if you try Share Menu > Export Movie... (choose Large size) and save it to the Desktop?
If that fails try Share Menu > Export using QuickTime...
Then pick Movie to QuickTime Movie, then click on Options... which is just to the right of Export
Under the Video section click on Settings...
Then in the pulldown menu at the top, titled Compression Type: Choose Apple Intermediate Codec. Then click OK. And click OK again, and save it to the desktop. Once the .mov file is created, you can import that into iDVD and most likely it will work in Wondershare Creator if you prefer to use that instead.
