How to rotate photos within iDVD6

Hola:
I am new to iDVD and the MAC world. I am trying to burn a DVD with lots of photos. Some of the pictures where taken with the camera sideways (portrait style), and I noticed all the pictures within a slideshow in iDVD gets shown (landscape style). Is there a way to rotate these photos so the show on the slideshow (portrait) but straight?

I'd recommend backing up the iPhoto library beforehand.
To back up your iPhoto Library folder:
Copy the iPhoto Library folder on your hard disk to another disk. For example, you can copy your iPhoto Library folder to an external disk or burn a CD or DVD of your photos.

What you can do is to move (or copy) a photo form one collection to another. This can be triggered via the top right app menu item from grid view. Same menu is available when you open up an image for editing. Hope that helps. -Guido

You'll need an application that edits the pics to do this: Acorn, Seashore, Photoshop Elements, Graphic Coverter are some, but there are many others - search on MacUpdate
Of course, iPhoto will do this too.

I couldn't find a possibility to rotate photos by 90 degrees within the preinstalled photo editing programme of the ipad air.

I've seen very few if any questions about rotating photos here. Photos imported by your computer from the camera roll can be rotated by the application used for the import or with photo viewing software, but thanks.

Is there an easy way to rotate photos on safari? i get photos emailed to me all the time, but whenever i click to "view", they always open in a new tab sideways or upside down.

How to save and how to rotate photos in MediaSmart Photo.

I have two questions.
1. How do you save photos from MediaSmart Photo to my computer? I don't see any "save" button" after the picture is opened?
2. How do you rotate the picture? My rotation icons are light gray and dead and have no impact on the picture's appearance.

I believe if you load the photos with mediasmart they are saved. If you click on a photo to select it, the rotate arrows will activate, or go to edit photo for more options.

How come rotated photos export/share as un-rotated?

I've imported many old photos to my iMac's (Yosemite) iPhoto app. I rotated them as needed and adjusted date/time on some that got the wrong date on a previous (other app) edit. Now, they sort well by date and look great. However, export or share (e.g. to Shared Photostream) the old date shows and they're un-rotated. Is iPhoto always exporting/sharing the Original version? Any easy work around?

I solved my own problem...
I keep all of my music on an external HD, and iTunes was unable to write to this drive, thus not being able to accept the ringtone file. There was no warning or error message, however. To fix this problem, go into iTunes settings and set your iTunes folder to a local disk instead of an external.

You would have to use a floating text box over the cell. Make sure text wrap is turned off.

By the way they were in the right position in my iPhoto folder but when I transfered them to iPhone they flipped and I was not able to flip them back to their original position....

Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and there, create a new library. Import a couple of pics and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

How do I a Rotate Photo in Books?

I am not talking about using the Rotate Left and Right Tool which rotates the photo within the photo box 90 degrees at a time. I want to free rotate my photo and the box at the same time 30 to 45 degrees. I know it can be done because I did it accidently once but can't figure out how to do it again. Can anyone help me out?

The answer is "yes", you can. You should use the Straighten tool, but don't try to use it in the Book Layout Editor. Select the photo you want to rotate, press 'F' to go to fullscreen, then press the button for the Straighten tool in the toolbar (or press 'G'). You can then freely rotate this version of the photograph. Keep in mind that you're rotating the version itself, so all instances of that version you use are rotated! Don't want that? Create another version.
Also, you can't use the Crop tool while in the Book Layout. Again, switch to fullscreen using 'F', then click the Crop tool (or 'C').
BTW, you don't have to go to fullscreen, just make sure you're not in any kind of layout editor, otherwise the tools apparently don't work.

iPhoto is not very smart with multiple photos...
I don't think you can move multiple photos and I suggest the following turnaround, using the "combine pages" option mentioned in my previous reply.
Create a blank page that you move next to the page(s) where the photos you want to move are;
then move your pictures there one by one (use the new page as a temporary parking space),
then merge this new page were you want to move the multiple pictures, using the "combine pages".
This would save time if your journal has many pages, so you don't have to move each photo through multiple pages but just to the next/previous page.
I just made this up but I tried it and it works!

Events are organisation for those who can't really be bothered. They are automatic - based entirely on Date and Time the camera records the photos as taken.
You can move photos between Events, you can Merge Events, you can Rename them and sort them in various ways except one: You cannot manually sort in an Event as Events are all automated.
If you want to manually sort in an Event then you've outgrown Events as an organising tool. Now it's time to look at albums (Where you can manually sort) which are much more flexible than Events as an organising tool.
