  • How can the Windows Media Player 12 be made to play WVC210 .avi files?

I just built a new computer and it won't play the motion captured videos of the WVC210. It has Windows 7 Home Premium as the operating system. My machines running XP play the WVC210 files GREAT. Is there a codec I can add to the WMP12 so that it will play the .avi files. I have 3 cameras around the property, 2 WVC210 and 1 WVC200. 1 camera has the audio turned off so switching to MP4 (no audio) made that work OK. But the camera in the office I need to have audio and would rather stick to WMP over something like VLC. VLC plays the files fine but I much prefer WMP. I'm hopeing to find out how to have Windows Media Player 12 play the .AVI files from the WVC210 cameras. Any Help??

There appears to be issues with codecs on WMP 12 and Windows 7
AND\OR your WMP is missing the necessary codecs.
Google the Net and you should find different things to try
    for the WMP 12.

  • Advice on how to make Windows Media Player play DVD's not the Tosh player

I do not want to use the pre-installed Toshiba Media Player to play DVD's, I want to use the installed Windows Media Player. I cannot change the default DVD player to WMP in Control Panel as the only options are either Toshiba's or Nero's player.
WMP can play CD's, MP3's etc but cannot even read any DVD in the drive. Anyone got any advice on how to do change this?
It;s a Toshiba Satellite Pro C850 with Windows 8 installed

The free KLite Codec pack which equips the OS including Media Player for DVD decoding, thus all your currently and even most future installed players. http://codecguide.com/
It comes in varying sizes but even the smallest version enables WMP for DVD's
After installing KLite, you right click the DVD drive within Windows and select the "Open With" or "Play Disc" menu option and select Windows Media Player.
You can also just use the Windows Run Box / Search box and enter
    dvdplay
which activates windows Media Player DVD menus.
Microsoft hasn't always included DVD playback in Windows and then started offered it as a fee based upgrade for XP and Vista, before finally including DVD playback in Windows 7 in what some Microsoft insiders said was an apology for Vista before removing it again in Windows 8.

  • How to prevent Windows Media Player plug-in from overriding sizing in html embed code?

My html code for embedding Windows Media Player into a frame recently developed problems in Firefox but not IE 8. The player displays properly at first, but then repositions and resizes. It seems my width setting is honored, but not my height setting. Also, autoplay="false' (or "0") additionally is not honored- the video starts playing after the repositioning and resizing. I have tried different embed code with the same result. I have the correct Windows Media Player Firefox Plug-in and it is up to date. I tried updating to Firefox version 9.0.1, but the problem persists. I've come across web postings positing the plug-in settings are overriding embed code. Any workarounds appreciated. Thank you.

  • Can't figure out how to install Windows Media Player

I downloaded it, but the file "Windows Media.sitx" can't be opened.

.sitx files require Stuffit Expander to open.

  • How do I force Safari to use Windows Media Player as my default WMV player.

I am subscribed to a educational program called "the Epson Online Experience", and the entire program is in Windows Media Player videos. I was using Safari and Mac OS 10.3.9 with no problem what so ever, until Quick Time updated itself. Now I can't get WMP to play at all in Safari, or in Camino or IE either. The browsers just keep trying to play the link in Quick Time.
I did download Flip4Mac, but with no luck. The links now appear to open, appear to be downloading the buffer, but will stay on that screen for hours if I allow it.
Does anyone know how to make Windows Media Player the default media player in Safari? or for that matter, in Camino (or if I MUST, I guess I would be willing to try it in IE too if I could make it work.
    Thanks for the help!
    Jodan

Welcome to Apple Discussions. Your post seems to have been lost in a sea of Safari problems.
Usually items triggering media players create a file, which is downloaded into your system. Check your download folder for the file. If you can't find it, access the same file again via Safari.
Once you locate the file on your HD, click on it. Then, command key + I will bring up the info panel for the file (or simply select "more info" in the preview panel if you're in the finder's column mode). Go to the bottom where you'll see "open with". There, you see "quicktime" listed as the app. for opening the file. Click on the drop down menu and find the Windows player and select it.
Back to the info. panel - select "change all". This will revert all files of this type on your HD, plus future files to the Windows Media Player. Double click on the file to activate the video. Future selections in Safari will automatically open the correct media player. One other note, for the player to open automatically, you must check "open safe files after downloading" in your Safari Preferences>General panel.
    Post back with results.

  • Windows Media Player for Mac.  How do I install?

I just bought a Mac (switching from Windows based machine). If I go to a website that has video, it keeps telling me that I don't have the proper plug-ins and directs me to the Microsoft site. When I try to download the Windows Media player from that site, it keeps telling me NO (in so many words, of course). Can someone please teach me how to get Windows Media Player on my new iMac?
Thanks. By the way, if anyone is nice enough to help me, please speak to me as you would a third grader. I am not good with computers.
    Thanks.

  • Windows media player plugin.

I was wondering how to watch videos from windows media player in the mac book pro (say if my school provides lectures on line, the plug in for wmp is missing). More over, I was also wondering how to install windows media player (I downloaded the file from the microsoft website, something with extension .bin this gets open by microsoft excel, thing that doesnt make sense to me)
Any input would be greatly appreciated...
    S

You might want to use Flip4Macinstead once they have released a Universal version for Intel Macs, the current version doesn't work.
If you are downloading Windows Media Player you will also need to download Stuffit Expander as Microsoft have used Stuffit to compress the installation file and Tiger now no longer comes with Stuffit.
Once you have expanded the .sit file you can then run the Windows Media Player installer.

  • Embed Windows Media Player

I need step by step instrustions on how to embed Windows Media player into my web site

What version of GL are you running?
If it's a newer version you should have a Windows Media Object in the Object Palette that you can drag and drop onto your page, then link to the .wmv file as though it were a regular image in the inspector.
Or was there something special you wanted to do?
