    Gurus,
    Please suggest if there is a way to run .bat files using DAC ? I suppose it can be done by configuring Execution Type as External Program. Please suggest how can this be achieved.
    Thanks

    I performed the same steps given in the link and ran the ex plan, but the task shows running and never completes. In my case i have created bat file for a different purpose (not for purging cache).
    Is the path shown in Step 5 the default path or it can be any path ? Please suggest.

  • How to run a batch file clicking a button?

    Hi All,
    Can you tell me anyone how to run a batch file clicking a button? And also the progress bar showing the progress.
    Arif

    As said: write the insert statement like above (of course replace the databaselink, column and table names with your own) in a stored procedure and call this procedure in the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger.
    As for the progress bar: how many records are you processing and how is the network connection between your database server? As above method is rather fast it might take just a few seconds and you could spare you the progress bar (this might be a little tricky to implement).
    cheers

    yes you can run html file
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT is a built-in that is used in Forms to call URL from a Web Form. It works much like the similar way that a link on an HTML page works and it takes two arguments, one is URL and second one is TARGET, in your case use following.
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://channas.iil.informatics.lk:8890/forms/frmservlet?config=abc.html', '_blank');
    Hope this will work for you

  • How to run a batch file from within an Oracle 9i Form?

    Hi, I would like to execute a batch file from within an oracle form - I'm assuming there's some PLSQL command I can use? I am not allowed to use any third party libraries, and I'm hoping I can get away without having to progam any C or Java to do it. I don't want to run my java program from my form, but my lecturer is insisting on it.
    Can anyone help?

    Lavanya,
    This question relates to shell scripting and in IMO it is not an oracle question.
    I have made some initial assumptions before my proposed solution.
    PLEASE note that this is untested, but can just guide you as a template for solving your problem.
    Assuming that you have properly set up the control file and mapped each and every table in it as per the file information which you have..
    Assuming the text file to be in the format of : ------ (as suggested by other posters earlier, this file holds instructions about the file and table mapping which shall be used by your sqlldr process.)
    tmp.txt:
    text_file_1-------------should goes to----customer_info_table
    text_file_2------------should goes to------customer_address_table
    text_file_3-----------should goes to-------customer_order_table
    while read line
    do
    SQLLDR CONTROL=`echo $line | sed 's/should goes to/ /g' | sed 's/-//g' | awk -F " " '{print $1}'`.ctl,
    LOG=`echo $line | sed 's/should goes to/ /g' | sed 's/-//g' | awk -F " " '{print $1}'`.log,
    BAD=`echo $line | sed 's/should goes to/ /g' | sed 's/-//g' | awk -F " " '{print $1}'`.bad,
    DATA=`echo $line | sed 's/should goes to/ /g' | sed 's/-//g' | awk -F " " '{print $1}'`.txt
    USERID=scott/tiger
    done <tmp.txtAll I am trying to run from the above shell script is : -- PLEASE TEST it if it matches your requirement.
    SQLLDR CONTROL=text_file_1.ctl, LOG=text_file_1.log, BAD=text_file_1.bad, DATA=text_file_1.txt USERID=scott/tiger
    SQLLDR CONTROL=text_file_2.ctl, LOG=text_file_2.log, BAD=text_file_2.bad, DATA=text_file_2.txt USERID=scott/tiger
    SQLLDR CONTROL=text_file_3.ctl, LOG=text_file_3.log, BAD=text_file_3.bad, DATA=text_file_3.txt USERID=scott/tigerRepeating my assumptions, I assume you have all those files required for SQLLDR process to run (ctl file, data file...)
    Cheers,
    Manik

  • Running a Batch file Using Java

    hi All ,
    I am executing a DOS batch file using the Java .
    I am using it as
    Process P;
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    P = rt.exec("C:\\X12TST\\BATCH1.BAT ");
    But in case BATCH1.bat have call to some other Batch File Say Bactch2.bat , i am not getting the output of BATCH2.BAT .
    My Java Program exits as soon as it enters to the point where BATCH1 is calling BATCH2 using (call BATCH2.bat).
    Any help is resolving the problem is highlt appreciated .
    Please advise me if you have any alternative to solve the problem .
    Thanx in advace

    The Runtime.exec() should'nt be used with a .bat or .cmd file since .bat and .cmd are not really executable. I think the expected behaviour you experimentred is a process hang at the last command line of the .bat file.
    Insert "echo XXX" or "net send mycomputer XXX" debug messages in your .bat, you'll see the .bat executes until last line. But the last one NEVER terminates, resulting in a hang in the Java thread doing a process.waitFor().
    The only workaround (or right use of exec) is to call the cmd.exe (with FULL PATH OF cmd.exe SPECIFIED in the exec() call). An exec() calling C:\WINNT\System32\cmd.exe /C mybatch.bat should return properly, cause cmd.exe is a standard Win32 program that will be launched to interpret mybatch.bat then terminate.
    PLEASE UNIX/LINUX USERS : report if the behaviour you get is the same on your plat-form, or if it is -one more- bug in win32 OS. Can you exec() a shell script direcly or do you have to exec() a "bash" or "ksh" or "csh" with you shell script as command line argument ?

  • How to run a batch file in a continous loop

    Hi.  PS noob.  I need to run a batch file frequently -- possibly every one minute.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but Task Scheduler can only schedule a task to run as frequently as every 5 minutes.  What would a PS script look like that would
    run a batch file, sleep for a minute or two, then loop?  Thanks.

  • How to run a batch file (sounds easy...)?

    Hallo,
    I just tried a lot of things to run through a simple button a prepared Batch-File. I used the execute-command but it does not work proper. There is an error message.
    Hope it is easy to solve. How can I execute / run / start an batch file, because just to execute it through the execute-command does not work?
    Thx for help

    Hey!
    Try this VI (LV 6.0 and 7.1 versions included). I use it pretty much for everything. Will launch .bat and .exe, will also open most files types, like .pdf, .doc, .jpg, etc., in their respective default applications.
    Good luck!

  • How to run a batch file (.bat) from forms? WEBUTIL_HOST.NonBlocking?

    I need to execute a batch file on the clients pc. Right now, I'm using:
    WEBUTIL_HOST.NonBlocking('cmd.exe /c "' || :Test.Batch_File_Name || '"');
    where the :Test.Batch_File_Name is something like C:\run.bat.
    This works to some extent. When it runs, I see a blank cmd.exe window and when I check my processes, I can see that run.bat is running. However, I need to be able to see run.bat as it executes because it outputs messages to the screen. Is there a way to call client_host or webutil_host that will display the batch file screen?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    With the Webutil Get_Standard_Output() , you can get the output strings and display them into your own Forms canvas ;o)

  • Running a Batch File using Auto Scheduler in HFM?

    Hi,
    Can we execute a batch file or run a macro or execute a VB script using the auto scheduler in Task Automation in HFM??

    I'm having difficulty running a batch script the way you describe.
    One line of code in c:\test.bat:
    echo Hello >c:\test.log
    This works just fine.
    However, for the life of me I cannot get this to work through Task Automation.
    I have the Application as Hub.
    The Action as Execute.
    The Command as c:\test.bat.
    When I select the task and click on Run Now, I get a message that the taskflow has initiated successfully. However, nothing fires on the server. I cannot see this process in Running Tasks (it would run quickly).
    Any hints?
    I have not found this subject to be...overdocumented.
