How to run a Discoverer graph once per day for my intranet site
Hello,
I would like to run a particular worksheet graph once per day, and place it on my intranet site. For performance reasons I don't want Discoverer to re-run the worksheet every time a user views the graph.
Could someone kindly point me towards somewhere I can read about how to do this, or indeed offer some guidance ? I'd like to know how to generate my graph on a regular basis, and how I can construct a URL to link it into my intranet home page.
I am very appreciative of any help,
Steve - a Discoverer "newbie" :)
Micheal
What version are you running?
In 5.31, what I would do is to have the main set M-F then use a different job (like a cmd echo or powershell write-host) on weekends that inserts the MF set at the time you want with a job event \ job insert action. This would override the time and execute when you want (you could probably just use one for SAT, SUN). we do similar things to avoid maintenance windows.
You might lose any downstream dependecies if the original is in a nested group but that might even work with a slight modification to the job depdency with the match occurance check box (relative to group, otherwise, for day) option
It would be best if tidal let you add multiple calendars to one job, not sure if that is in the works but it should be on their radar.

How to run a script automatically once a day
Hi everybody
I need some help: I should run a script in Illustrator once a day, automatically at 23 p.m.
What is the easiest way to do this? What about: Scheduling "open" & "close" Illustrator in the Windows scheduler and then putting the script in the startup folder of illustrator.
Should be working, right?
-> Closing Illustrator at 10 p.m.
-> Opening Illustrator at 11 p.m.

How do I get Firefox to bypass our proxy for our Intranet sites.
I have it set to bypass proxy settings through the GPO Add-on but I receive a DNS error. I've tried entering 192.168.0.0/16 for "No Proxy" but that doesn't work. I also have our Intranet site set as the homepage but it just goes to a blank page with no error.
I am using the Firefox ADM along with the GPO add-on for the client. This allows me to lock the settings.
I now have to add that Firefox was updated to 10.0 and I no longer see the GPO Add-on.
Earlier I tried the FrontMotion Firefox ADM and and GPO script. This worked fine. I could get to our Intranet but I couldn't lock the settings.
How can I get Firefox to see our Intranet? I'll appreciate any help you can give.If you click "Not Now" then Firefox will ask on a next visit to that site.<br />
If you click "Never ..." then you create a block exception that you have to remove if you want Firefox ask again to store the name and password.
Remove the site from the exceptions: Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: Exceptions

Exchange Server 2010 automatic reply once per day or once per week?
Hello,
can some tell me how often the automatic reply is send in Exchange Server 2010.
Is it once per day for each sender or once per week for each sender?
In the web some tell per week, some tell per day.
Is it possible to change the time shedule, so that each day a automatic reply is send?
Thanks,
EduardHello,
after some googling and consolidating the different examples on the Internet I came up with this powershell script which is executed by the windows task scheduler once a day. The script first gathers all the mailboxes for which the out of office mechanism
is activated. Then it disables the autorepliers for these mailboxes, waits for 10 seconds (this seems to be necessary to let exchange do some housekeeping) and then reenables the autorepliers.
Warning: I have learned that this script resets the time interval of the autoreplier. Any ideas how to preserve the time settings?
Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.E2010
$objUsers = get-mailbox | Get-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration | Where-Object {$_.AutoReplyState -eq "scheduled" }
$objUsers | %{ Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration -Identity $_.identity -AutoReplyState disabled}
Start-Sleep -s 10
$objUsers | %{ Set-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration -Identity $_.identity -AutoReplyState scheduled}
Remember to use -AutoReplyState scheduled instead of -AutoReplyState enabled to reenable. -AutoReplyState enable should only be used for permanent autorepliers and not for "out of office" messages.
Cheers,

How to backup ONCE per DAY only
Hi
It takes forever (2hrs+) to backup 300GB onto our Time Capsule, and the backup slows down my computer so much to the point I want to pull my hair out! I can't seem to find a way to do an automatic backup once per day only rather than hourly without turning off the automatic backup and doing it manually.
Does anyone know how to do an automatic backup to Time Capsule once per day only?
Thank you!Thank you for your assistance!
That is exactly what I was looking for, and am very relieved to know there is something available!!
I was hesitant to download it at first because since it is backing up all my files, I was afraid of the possibility of having a built in bug that would allow an outsider to access my files. However, I researched it, and it seems there are many happy & satisfied users of the Time Machine Editor software.
Thanks again! Hopefully Apple will just swallow their pride and make this ability available in one of their own software updates in the future. -
Not working: Send subscription emails: Once per day?
Seasons Greetings,
Can someone please clarify/confirm what I should have in My Settings in Subscription Preferences.
They are currently:
Always subscribe to topics I create: Yes
Always subscribe to topics I reply to: Yes
Send subscription emails: Once per day
It's the last option that doesn't seem to work for me. Yesterday after spending a bit of time helping out all the new nano owners I opened Mail and has 67 posts yesterday, with 25 today so far.
Here's an example of 5 separate replies to one subject (numbered by me):
1. You have requested mail to be sent to you when messages to the Apple Discussions topic "how do I know when it is fully charged" are posted. hudgie posted "how do I know when it is fully charged" on Dec 27, 2005 12:25:46 PM.

I have some with more than 5 but I don't want to bore you too much
What I really expected with 'Send subscription emails: Once per day' was a digest listing all replies to all posts for a 24 hour period.
Have I misunderstood or is something wrong?

I am running 10.6.8 and using iweb for my web site. After several SEO analysis they all indicate I need H1-6 header tags. After looking at the source code I see there are none in iweb. Are they necessary to add? Why would one add these tags and how do I add H Tags to iweb? And are there examples to look at? I am slowly learning about simple web design and assumed that iweb was stand alone without having to write code. Is this one of the reasons iweb is no longer supported? Thanks for looking at this!
A simple text page like this:
Heading
sub heading
text paragraph ....
Is traditionally represented by html tags like:
<h1>Heading</h1>
<h2>sub heading</h2>
<p>text paragraph ... </p>
I would guess that the use of h1-h6 tags helps search engines to understand the structure of a page as the tags imply a certain structure.
This can be compared to more generic tags like <div> that could represent any kind of content - and may be what iWeb uses (you'll have to check yourself).
I would generally recommend that you use some kind of up to date blog/site building tool, perhaps Wordpress or Squarespace (I haven't used either one myself) that support current web technologies - this should reduce your SEO issues and make it easier to properly support mobile/tablet users. -

Receive all emails once per day
I have had my Blackberry for over 2 years now and have never had trouble receiving emails until last week. Now I only get emails once per day......all of them come at once. I haven't changed any settings - anybody have any suggestions.
ThanksHi
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem. If not then more information will be needed before making suggestions. Please provide as much as you are able of the the following
Blackberry Model.
Carrier Name.
Do you have a Data Plan?
Operating System Version go to Menu > Options > About - it looks like v5.0.0.681

Any error statement or code.
The Exact nature of problem - the more info the better.

HT203353 Safari Force Quits Once per Day
Safari has been force quitting automatically (without a message saying it has force quit or that it has encountered an error - it just quits) once every day for the past 5 months. Normally this occurs soon after waking the computer up from an overnight sleep if I have left Safari open before putting the computer to sleep the day before, or it happens soon after starting the application for the first time on any given day. The good news is that, after it force quits once, I can open the application again and it will function without issues throughout the rest of the day. For this reason I held off looking for support and just hoped that an update would help to fix it.
Since no update has resolved this issue, I have tried reinstalling the application and plug-ins and refreshing all updates for Safari along with other supporting updates, but there has been no change. I have also tried restarting the computer, quitting all applications before putting it to sleep, or turning it completely off overnight, but the issue remains.
It's only a minor annoyance, but any ideas on how might I be able to finally fix this problem?Thank you so much for your quick input!
Step 1 Response: This is what I found from yesterday's episode (one has not yet happened today). So it looks like it's related to an installation?
4/4/15 8:17:13.246 AM Installer[6689]: GList Safari 7.100000 is Higher runtime version : 7.100000
4/4/15 8:17:13.247 AM Installer[6689]: terminateSafari
Step 2 Response: This was the only crash in my log. It happened about a month ago, but if I remember correctly it was related to Safari quitting unexpectedly.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the display in week view to show all 24 hours per day for those of us that work irregular hours.
Also is it possible to have all of the 'all day' entries showing, not just 3.5 of them.

How to Run a Request Set on specific days and at specific hours
Hi community,
The question is simple, how to rin a Request Set on Specific Days and at Specific hours?
Let me explain the scenario.
E-Business Suite, Release 11.5.9.
We have a request set under Sysadmin user. This Request set is running 24x7, during all year, and we want to restrict the execution from Monday to Friday since 08:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. in order to increase the productivity of our system and more over, to avoid the size increase of a table (OE_EXPOSURE_INTERFACE)
The Request Set includes 5 Requests:
10. Workflow Background Process.
20. GUZMAN: Cálculo metodo pago en pedidos.
30. GUZMAN: Exposición de crédito externo.
40. Credit Exposure Import.
50 Initialize Credit Summaries Table.
As you can see three of them are standar Oracle Order Management Processes and two of them are custom Oracle Order Management Processes; and the requests must be executed in that order.
We have just thinking about to create a Custom Manager with a workshift from Monday to Friday since 08:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m., and include the requests as specialization rules or assigning those request to a Request Type and then include that Request Type as specializated rule, but this does not assure us that the request will be executed in that order.
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot for your answer in advice.
Luis.Hi Anchorage,
It could be a solution, but not the exact solution that we want. Let me say why.
With the Request set we have the security that each concurrent request is executed when the prior one finishes; is that to say 20, does not begin till 10 finishes, and 30 does not begin till 20 finishes and so on. The most critical concurrent requests are 40 and 50, cause those are the ones that import an external credit exposure in the OE_EXPORURE_INTERFACE table (40) and are the ones that delete those external credit exposures imported (50). The problem is (and we do not know why) that these actions makes grow the size of the table and each time the 40 and 50 processes takes more minutes to finish. That's why we need to truncate the table in order to avoid the excesive grow of itself.
Making each process independent, with a begining time and hoping and expecting that the following one does not begin till the prior one ends is not an admisible or realizable solution due to the problem with the 40 and 50 processes.
So at the end, we need a request set in order to know that each one began when the prior one ends.
And Due to in order to truncate the table, as I said before, the processes that have a relationship whit it, must be stopped (just the 40 and 50 processes) prior to the truncation.
So as you see, it is difficult, very difficult.

How to store lead-time and price per MPN for a single Item
We are probably one of the only CEM's that use Oracle Applications in a one-to-one MPN-IPN (Oracle Item Part Number) relationship. We do not currently store multiple Manufacturers under a single Item. Rather, we use the Customer Item Cross Reference to rank the customer's AML, with each IPN tied to a single MPN.
We are looking at moving into a one-to-many "world" in Oracle but are not sure how we can handle different pricing, lead-time, preference, status (prototype, production, obsolete, do not use), etc. for each Manufacturer's Part Number under a single Item. How are other CM's handling this???Hi Greg,
Unfortunately, DIAdem Datafinder doesn't really support much in the way
of Date/Time search outside of the File Level Creation Date property.
In order to make the creation time of the Channels searchable you would
want to create some custom properties (or use the existing RegisterInt1
- RegisterInt6) to define your own searchable properties.
For example, since you know that you have one TDM file per day, you can
start your search by find the desired day on the File Property Level,
searching the "Creation Date" property. When you store your TDM
properties, you could store the hour creation as an integer (and
thereby searchable) in one of the RegisterInt properties of the
channel, or create your own custom "Hour" channel. You could similarly
save the minute and second property in their own custom properties.
Then, since you're saving integer values, you can then search those
values to determine the time that the channel was created.
I realize that this isn't ideal or elegant, as in total it requires 4
searches (date, hour, minute, second). But that is the most
straightforward way of searching your channels by creation date/time.
Hope this helps Greg, let me know if you have any other questions.
