How to run a Java project in NWDS...

Hi All,
First of all , i dont know if i am writing in the right forum for this question.
I am new in NWDS.
My question is, how can i run my java project in NWDS without having any portal available (we had some problems running projects in EP 2004 and so we will install a new version EP 2004s )?

Yes i am creating Ear file by using the Java programs with NWDS .
You mean to deploy mannualy with SDM inside my server?
How can i than, utilize that into IE?
Can i run ear without using EP.
Sometimes i want to run my project in my house where i dont have acess in any SDM or everything else.
Can you give me please more step by step instruction because i am new with these technologies.

You need to completely rewrite the app to use the mobile APIs as they're very different from the PC ones, I suppose.

To put breakpoints, just doubleclick on the left gray rule of the code, you'll get blue bullets at the left rule, indicating a break point. Run Tomcat in debug modus (rightclick Tomcat � debug). Use the Eclipse debug perspective to step in the code (window � open perspective � debug).

Running eclipse java project on command prompt

Hi all,
I have one simple java project and that is very well running in eclipse. I have added some external JARs to that project. It performs this job- it creates connection to server, and listens to the signals from server.
My question is - how do I run that java project on command prompt?*
I want to run that using ANT or simply I want to make a JAR file so I can execute JAR on command prompt. I created JAR, but it doesn't contain external jar which I added to the project. So I was not able to run that project.
Can you please tell me any of the method - using ANT or by making JAR?
Also can you be little bit more explanatory in reply?

I want to make a JAR file so I can execute JAR on command prompt.This is very likely a good way to proceed. It is explained in great detail in Sun's Tutorial in the section on [Packaging Programs in JAR Files|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/deployment/jar/index.html].
I created JAR, but it doesn't contain external jar which I added to the project. So I was not able to run that project.Yes - the jar file you create has to know about the classes and other resources in that external jar. Otherwise, at runtime, the program will not be able to get at the stuff it needs. Usually you don't include that other jar (or its contents) in the jar file you are creating. Instead you provide your jar file with a manifest that describes the other jar's location. Details are also in the tutorial.
One thing to note is that Sun's tutorial provides a lot of explanatory, conceptual, material. To that end it keeps the context simple and transparent by describing the steps as they would be carried out by someone working at the command line. The Eclipse documentation and forums might provide a more click-this-drag-that "explanation". If you do follow the method in the Tutorial and get stuck, post a description of the actual commands you used and their outcome.

How to run a java program in another folder

Hello!
I want to run for example the java class file in the path ./sourcecode/javafile.class. It works fine if I do the following:
cd sourcecode
java javafile
but it cannot work if I do:
java sourcecode/java
The error it outputs is NoClassDefFoundError.
Can someone tell me how to run a java program in another folder

You need to specify the classpath using the -cp flag when running. so instead of
"java sourcecode/javafile"
Try
"java -cp sourcecode javafile"

How to run an ess application from nwds

I have done the changes in ESS/MSS standerad web dynpro componenet i.e. us personal data threw NWDS
I have done the changes then i rebuild the project,then i deploy it .
before check in now i want check its o/p.
mean i want to run "us personal data" to check the changes that i have made is right or not.

i want to know how may i test this application i have done the changes.
there is an application for a ESS/MSS component that i have imported threw nwdi e.g. "Address" in web dynpro explorer i am just right clicking on this application e.g. "per_addres_us" then click to run .
is this the right procedure or there is something else to do this test.
Because when i am trying to run this way i am getting error.

How to run a java program without Java Compiler

I have a small project and I want share it with my friends but my friend'pc have not
Java compiler.
for example, I writen a application like YM, then 2cp can sent,receive messege. My cumputer run as Server, and my frien PC run as client.
How can my friend run it? or how to create an icon in dektop tu run a java program..??..

To run a program you don't need a Java compiler. Just the Java Runtime Engine. That can be downloaded from the Sun website and comes with an installer.
You could then turn your application into an executable jar file and start it somehow like jar myYM.
There is also software that packs a Java program into an executable file. I've never used that but one that comes to my mind is JexePack. It's for free if you can live with a copyright message popping up every time you start the program.

How to run a Java EE client application ?

I have a Java EE Application Project created with Eclipse (OEPE) and I don't know how to run it ? I asked the question on the OEPE forum but didn't manage to have any pertinent answer. I have also looked at Developing Java EE Application Clients (Thin Clients) in the Programming Stand-alone Clients book and tried to use commands as weblogic.clientDeployer and weblogic.j2eeclient.Main but haven't been able to get them working. And anyway, they are not done to be used in Eclipse as I didn't find any ant tasks for them.

The ww204-client.jar was created as an OEPE J2EE Application Project and it was extracted with weblogic.ClientDeployer from the ear exported by OEPE. But it doesn't contain the required classes.

i want to run .java file..
suppose i have some classes then i want to run those classes by providing just the name of the class..
my program should run any .class file by just selecting the name of the class..

I think could run any .java file by implementing it as Runnable and starting them as threads from the main program. I'm not sure how you'd get it to the poitn where you could .start() it though.

What would be the command to run the Java file from c:\Java.

If the class you are trying to run is MyApp.class, try
c:\Java\>java -cp abc\efg MyAppThe actual classpath you specify will depend on whether or not MyApp.class is in a package (I've assumed it isn't) and whether or not any 3rd party jars are involbed (I've assumed not).

The command arguments read as "Run the MyApp class using as a classpath abc\efg relative to here (c:\Java)".

How to run standalone java file from weblogic server on Solaris

Hi,
We have a requirement to run a java file at a scheduled time in a day using cron scheduler on our linux server.
We need to fetch data from the database & perform some business logic in this standalone JAVA file.
Our application has an EAR which is deployed on Weblogic 10.3 server & in our application, we are utilizing the datasource created in that domain.
Now, we have created a standealone Java file & used exisitng datasource (without Hibernate) of the domain with the help of below forums,
Use DataSource of weblogic in a standalone Java file
able to achieve the same.
I've bundled this JAVA in application WAR & depoyed on the same domain where datasource is created.
Now, how can I execute this file from anywhere on the server using weblogic classpath.
Please help on the same in implementation.

If the Java application must be stand-alone you must not deploy it on WebLogic, then WebLogic will manage its lifecycle.
In this case you can use the CommonJ API and use the timermanager if it must run on a certain time. More information

Note that the example runs a WLST script, but you can follow the same steps to run your Java application.

hi i want to run a java program from in command prompt from another directory

so when i give the command
