How to run acer b276hul in full resolution

My company just bought me a new ACER B276HUL monitor. It's really nice (excerpt for the builtin speakers - they stink). My windows co-workers can run their monitors at the full native resolution (2560x1440). To do this they have to use the display port. Turns out that HDMI and DVI both max out at 1920x1xx0. So - I went and bought a Altaz mini-displayport to displayport adaptor to use with my MBA 13" (Mid 2012). If I try to drive the monitor at full resolution, the only thing that happens is that I get 1/5 of the screen filled with what looks like out of sync video. If I drop it down to 2048x1152 resolution, then I can see everything (but it's scaled).
I thought that might have been an issue with the Altaz adaptor so I tried a QVS adaptor. I got the same result from that experiment.
Had anyone been able to use one of these monitors? The Preferences panel for this monitor doesn't let me change the refresh rate. Is there some other way to try to tweak that to see if I can get the OS to sync the full res video?
Thanks!

Problem seems to be solved by the following:
1) Used third-party miniDisplayPort-to-DisplayPort cable; plugged DisplayPort end into monitor
2) Restarted MBA in "Safe" mode (hold Shift key upon MBA start up)
3) Go to Displays in System Preferences
4) Higher resolution 2560x1440 can now be enabled with normal, non-flickering or altered viewing
5) Restart MBA normally
6) Display retains 2560x1440 display settings
7) Note: Also works connected to Belkin Thunderbolt Hub as well as directly connected to MBA Thunderbolt port

  • Run on iPad at full resolution?

Are you able to run an app at full ipad res? I have created a 1024x768 app, runs in adl fine. When I install ipa on iPad it shows it in the iPhone 320x480 box which obviously crops the remaining content on screen.
    Am I missing something?

Here is an app.xml from one of my developments that sucessfully loaded on the iPad, the key part that targets the Ipad is the last bit

  • How do I save pictures from iPhoto iPad app in full resolution?

When I import a large 6-9MB picture into the iPhoto app on iPad for editing, and then save it to my camera roll, the resulting picture is 150-200KB. How can I save it in full resolution after it's been edited?

When i import a large file 6mb to iphoto using itunes it become 1,2mb, maybe its the same to you and after edit it become 150-200kb
It seem that iphoto auto resize the picture, dont know why iphoto didn't give us freedom to choose the resolution when exporting

  • Transferring slide shows in full resolution

I'm trying to transfer my old slide shows from an older version of iPhoto to my new computer with iPhoto '08. When I try to export the slide shows they are reduced to a low resolution, not suitable to show on the television. How can I transfer them in full resolution?

Simply move the Library from the old machine to the new machine, don't export the slideshows.
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network, Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • Full Resolution vs Optimized - Single Photos

I understand how to change from optimized vs full resolution pictures with the new iCloud options in 8.1. Let's say I want just a few pictures to be full resolution so I can share/send them to someone? I can just select some and download in full? Looking to do this on my iPhone or iPad.
    Thanks!

As far as I know, it's all or nothing; you can't choose to just keep selected photos in full resolution on your device.  You would have to download the photos you want to share from your iCloud photo library on icloud.com to your computer, then email them in order to share them in full resolution.  (Note: sharing photos using an iCloud shared photo album (http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99) are not full resolution originals.  Photos added to a shared album are "optimized" rather than full resolution.)

  • How do i export multiple full resolution movie files at the same time in final cut pro 6?

I've been using Final Cut Pro since version 3 came out, know the program well, have even had jobs consisting of just operating the program.  I'm currently running version 6 because that's the latest one that works on my computer.  Back in verison 3, there used to be an option under Export to export a "Final Cut Pro" movie, which was really a Quicktime movie but appeared with a FCP icon and defaulted to opening in FCP, but the important thing about it is that it was a full resolution copy of the movie with no compression.  Now, that option seems to have been changed to "export Quicktime movie."  In my opinion that change is kind of stupid since it is so much less specific and is even less of an implication that one is exporting a full resolution file.  But in fact you are.
One also has the option of using Compressor to export a version of a movie, and therein there are so many different options that if you are not confused by it I think there's something wrong with you.  Moreover, it would appear that there is no equivalent of exporting a full resolution version of a file in Compressor.  Fair enough: a full-resolution file involves no compression so is not appropriate for "Compressor."  BUT, suppose you want to export multiple uncompressed, full-resolution movies at once.  When you use Compressor, you are able to create batch lists and export many things at the same time, for instance, lists that will take many hours to complete so you can go to bed and get the results the next day.  But as far as I can tell there is no way to do this at full resolution without compression.  Instead you have to sit at the computer waiting for each one to finish and after each one, manually go to the next and select "export Quicktime movie."  Even if there is a way to do this I would complain that such an obviously desireable thing is so unaccessable.  In fact, the only reason I've typed out my question at such length is because I'm stuck here waiting for each one of my movies to export.
Anyway, all my complaints aside, anyone know how to do this?

what you're missing to export multiple files is the batch export command available in the file menu or by control clicking on the items in the browser.  You can export multiple sequences/clips at full resolution with this.
This has been available in fcp for a long long time.
Wow, you are right.  Now that you mention it, I can't believe I never noticed that.  Thanks.
Only if you have the 'Self-Contained' box checked.  Otherwise you'll end up with a reference movie.
Correct.  That box is typically checked by default.  There are other default settings you could change that would not result in a full-quality version, but what I meant was hitting that option from the pull-down menu, then changing nothing and hitting ok.

  • How to get full resolution on Samsung E2420L monitor?

I bought a Samsung E2420L external monitor for my MacBook Pro.  The box says 1920 x 1080, however I can't seem to get the Mac to push more than 1600 x 900.  Samsung doesn't list any Mac drivers, how can I get the full resolution?
    Thanks!

Use extended mode rather than mirrored mode in your display settings on your computer. Uncheck mirrored". Mirrored mode mirrors your computer display, including the resolution, to the external monitor. Extended mode lets you use the external monitor's native resolution.

  • How to read the 'full resolution composite' from a .psd file?

I'm working with 16-bit .psd files and have the "maximize compatibility" switch turned on in CS2. When a file is saved, a message box appears indicating that PS is generating a "full resolution composite." I'd guess this is stored in the .psd file somehow, because some of the 3rd party image viewers are able to display the image when the compatibility switch is used, but are unable to display the image otherwise.
My question is: how can I read this full resolution composite from the .psd file outside of Photoshop?
If this is the wrong forum to post this question, I'd appreciate it of you'd tell me a better place.
    Thanks,
    Dave H.

As you guess, it is stored in the PSD, but only with the Maximise Compatibility switch. Without that switch, a dummy image is stored which has the text "This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image.", in English, German, Japanese and French.
    My program
psdparse extracts each layer in an 8-bit file as a PNG, and the merged image for both 8- and 16-bit files. That link is to a Subversion repository containing source code.

  • How do i sync full resolution photos from computer to phone?

anyone know how to sync full resolution photos from computer to phone using itunes?  itunes does not show the option to "include full resolution photos."  photos i'd like to sync include both photos taken with iphone and photos i've taken with another camera.  i also don't have to use itunes, whichever program gets the photos in their separate folders back onto my iphone in full resolution is fine.  using itunes 10 / iphone 4S / ios 5.0.1
    thanks!

As far as I know that's not possible when using iTunes. See this post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15172235#15172235 and this one https://discussions.apple.com/message/15254581#15254581

  • HT201317 How do I download full resolution images from icloud

i have my devices set to Optimize iPhone/iPad Storage. I also have them set to Upload to My Photostream. I understand this to mean that my images are uploaded to the cloud full resolution but downloaded back to my devices at lower size and resolution to optimize space. If I need to download to full sized images later, how do I get to them?
    thanks

Your PC will always download full resolution versions.
If you are using iCloud photos library on your mobile device and you use the optimise option, your photos may or may not be reduced in resolution (this depends on whether they needed to be optimised which is automatically determined by your free space). I'm not 100% sure but I think that if the image is optimised you may download the full resolution image simply by opening it on your mobile device. However if you are in any doubt, putting it in edit mode (temporarily) does definitely download the full resolution version (if it's not already on your device).

  • Iphoto does not support the resolution of my dslr camera...how do i upload full resolution photos?

iphoto does not support the resolution of my dslr camera...how do i upload full resolution photos?

You actually need to give information to get help - just stating an abstract problems (which is most certainly not a problem at all) gives the volunteers hearer nothing to work with to help you
What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? What exactly is the problem (iPhoto does support the resolution of your camera so that is NOT a problem)? what exactly are you doing? What error messages do you get? why do you incorrectly think that iPhoto does not support full resolution?
At this time your question is like my car won't start - why not? Could be anything from you did not put the key jun to being out of gas to having the engine stolen - no way to tell anything - except that the problem you claim is not true (at least in my example I would know that the car did not start)

  • HT204264 Optimize storage on an iOS device. When or how do the full resolution copies get removed

I have been using iCloud photo library for a week and have been using it to look at some old photos and watch old videos from the photos app on an iPhone. After vieiwing this old data the library now takes up more space on the phone. I have optimize storage turned on.
I assume the iPhone is just storing thumbnails of everything in the library, and when accessing a file it then downloads the full resolution copy (or a higher resolution copy fit for viewing on an iPhone). My question is when does this full or higher resolution copy "return to the iCloud" so to speak, so you are just left with the thumbnail? Or can this be done manually?
For example say I take a 1GB video on my phone today and it gets uploaded to the iCloud photo library today, when will the full resolution copy dissapear from the iPhone and just the thumbnail or lower resolution copy is left taking up space on the phone?
I have a 70GB library, the amount of space taken up on the phone for photo library was around 5GB a week ago, after a week of accessing some of this old data it's now around 15GB
    Many thanks

Since it does not look like apple developers provided us with any information on when optimization will occur, I am under impression that people with large
libraries are better off by staying with icloud beta library turned off at the very least on the phone.

  • Need full resolution HDMI audio and 2 CH optical simultaneously

Am working on an install for a customer who has a Mac Mini.  He is running XBMC for all his movies.  I need to run HDMI to his surround processor with full resolution audio while running the optical out in 2 channel pcm for his whole house audio.  Is this possible?

As standard sound would go to one or the other output, it is possible to configure things to send sound to both at the same time, but I would strongly expect this would require both to be configured the same i.e. stereo, rather than one being stereo and the other 5.1.
To configure the Mac to send to both you need to use the Audio MIDI Setup tool in the Utilities folder.
    See https://support.apple.com/kb/PH5178?locale=en_US
and How to combine multiple audio interfaces by creating an aggregate device - Apple Support
It maybe that the easiest or more practical option would be to use an AV Receiver set to output via both its stereo and HDMI ports. The Mac would then just send via HDMI to the AV Receiver which would if needed handle the conversion and splitting of the signal.

  • Is it possible the current Mac Mini 2.7 Ghz i7 with two full-resolution displays and Thunderbolt operate?

    Hello,
Is it possible the current Mac Mini 2.7 Ghz i7 with two full-resolution displays and Thunderbolt operate?
    Thanxs for your answers.
    Gerald

    On Second thoughts...
I don't really know how well Logic Express 7 performs on the Mac Mini because I have not yet had the chance to experience the two together. Don't let that put you off the idea though! From my understanding of the system requirements printed on the Logic Express homepage, it states that a G4 or faster system is required, however Apple personally recommend a Dual G4 or G5 is recommended alongside a minimum of 512MB of Ram. This Does mean that Logic Express will run on the Mac Mini but you will most probably find it lags when moving samples in real time and rendering them onto your hard drive. If you really want to enjoy making "serious" music on the Mac then you really need to be looking at the iMac G5 or the iMac Core Duo (Intel) purely for your tempers sake. As for an Intel Mac Mini, there is no indication as to when we will be seeing one on the market and therefore you may find yourself on the fence between keeping your fixed budget and holding on a little or jumping in and getting on the right road to a digital musical life - mac style.
Maybe this will inspire your decision:
