How to run all slides without stop?

I´m watching an online course made with Flash.The course consists
of several chapters/slides. After every slide I have to press the play button
to start the next slide, which is a huge interference
How do I make all slides run without me having to start all of them manually??

There are plenty of folks that design things that don't do what others expect they should. These forums themselves are a grim example of that. I, personally, wouldn't bother getting so worked up about it--there are far greater woes in life than presentations that don't play thru without using controls.

How to run a Plugin, without opening Adobe indesign

Hi,
Does anyone know how to run a plugin as a service or something like that...
What i want to do is,
I have written a plugin that can read texts from indd files & save them as .txt files.
now i want to put indd files in to a folder & once a new file comes to the folder, read that new file automatically and save as txt.
for that I want to run the plugin, without opening the indd file.
I hope CS6 SDK support to do that.
Please let me know if anyone has any idea...

I'll explain you what my requirement is,
My final goal is to run the Indesign application(including my plugin) in a server & put all indd files in to a location(ex.folder) &
once an indd file comes to that folder it'll be automatically read by Indesign application & save the extracted data in a separate location(ex.another folder) as tex files. then human interaction is not needed...
My precsent problem is,
Can I read an indd file, without opening indd file in Indesign application (may be giving a path to a indd files included folder or some way like that).
Currently,
first i open the Indesign Application -> Open the indd file(intended to be read) -> Run my plugin.
Now I Get the document with,
IDocument* document = Utils<ILayoutUIUtils>()->GetFrontDocument();
But what I want is,
while the Indesign application is running on a PC, if an indd file comes to a given location(folder) it to be read automaticaly without opening my pluging.
To do that My idea is,
* Any time when the Indesign apllication is opend my plugin should automatically start running,
* once a new file comes to a given location(folder) plugin shoud be automatically triggered & read the file.

Openscript / script chaining / how to run all the scripts if one fails ?

I have a problem using openscript and please I would like to know if there is a work around.
here is what I am doing :
with open script:
1/ I am recording many differents scripts for the same app : one script = one functionnality
2/ Then I am creating a script and I run all these previous script.
The problem is :
I get an error "Timeout occurred waiting for page to load." which is a normal error (the link is broken, the page is missing etc).
I cannot recover, and main script stops. Although I would like others scripts also to be played back.
I tried to set option ERR_RESPONSE_TIME_ERROR to Warn (instead of fail). But no way ! It fails !
please could you tell me what I am missing ?

I dont have dependancies between scripts. I mean I did be careful : each script open and close properly the browser.
Even by setting ALL parameters to Warn instead of fail, this does not help.
Error : Timeout occurred waiting for page to load cannot be skipped this way.
In my run I have 4 Runscript. 2nd fails with this error. 3 and 4 will not be (even) tried.
Never mind. Try/Catch should be working :-) (I hope so)

can i run java application without having java environment(JVM) in a machine.I mean i dont have installed j2se or jdk in my machine.And i have an j2ee application running on another host which is built in swings.I want to access that application in my machine

If you only need to access the program from one machine and you are running a Unix-like operating system (e.g., Linux, Solaris), you can use the remote display capabilities of X11. In this case you have to choose the host where the app will be displayed when you start it:
$ DISPLAY=<hostname>:0.0
$ export DISPLAY
$ java ...
If you want to be able to display it on both machines at the same time, or if you are using windows, then try something like VNC (http;//www.realvnc.com). Or if you are running windows and your version supports it, you can use windows remote desktop.

Flash site play all frames without stopping

Hi all,
I'm just getting back into flash and have forgotten most of
what I knew. I've been handed a file and need to figure out how to
proceed to address this issue:
The file is a full website. It's a fairly simple design with
a graphic and some buttons. When you click one of the buttons, the
main graphic changes to content for that 'page'.
The problem is when the file is published it just plays every
layer/frame in it and loops as well. It should display the key
'home page' elements (buttons/main graphic) and then stop and wait
for a button to be clicked before running the code for that button.
I think maybe it needs a stop action on the first frame, but
in CS3 (or probably any version now, but that's what I'm using) I
can't figure out how to check to see what actions are on a frame,
and I apparently don't know how to add a stop action effectively to
the first frame.
The file has an 'actions' layer, but if I click the first
frame of that layer (which appears to have an action attached to
it), I don't see any action. If I add a stop action, then publish,
the file DOES stop like it should, but then none of the buttons
work.
Does it sound like I need to insert a frame BERFORE the first
frame, and then add the stop action to that? In other words, could
it be the case that I'm putting the stop action on the first frame,
and the button layers operate (begin) on that first frame as well
such that when I click on a button it fires the stop action I setup
to stop the entire site file from playing?
Is there any other setting/issue that might cause a file
designed as I've described (simple website with buttons) to run
through all the content without ever stopping and waiting for
input?
If someone could just point me in the right direction, I
think I'll be fine. I might need to rearrange some of the layers so
they don't start on the first frame...so maybe that's it?
I know this is simple and I hate asking, but I have to get
this done quickly...

I really appreciate your response. In an indirect way, it may
have at least helped me figured out the 'what happened' part.
I went back into the file and, just for the heck of it, was
going to add stop actions to every frame on the actions bar. During
that process I saw (for about the forth time) some comment code in
the actions window that I had sort of assumed was just there by
default (what was I thinking?). The comment said something like
'actions would NOT be exported in files in the unregistered
version'. In retrospect (and after a few slices of pizza), that
explains why there are lots of frames with the action symbol but
when I open the frame's action window no actions are there (just
the comment). I think whoever tried to modify this file tried to do
it with the trial download and then saved the file and the process
basically wiped out all the actions in the file :/ So I have a
flash site now with all th code missing.
That being the case (at least I'm pretty confident it is),
I'm going back to the guy tomorrow at work and tell him that, if he
(or his subordinate) was dumb enough to copy over the original file
instead of working on a copy then, at best, I MIGHT be able to
rework the thing by Tuesday (after the long weekend) to add back
all the necessary actions to have it functioning again.
That (process) will be kind of good review for me and,
besides, it might be easier essentially starting over than it would
be to try and follow someone else's setup all the way down to the
point where it's messed up....if that makes any sense. Plus, I can
rename all the layers instead of looking at 90 layers named 'layer
1', 'layer 2', etc etc...and then have the code use the descriptive
names.
Anyway, I do really appreciate the response. It helped me
find enough of an answer to know how to proceed from here, which is
the best I could have hoped for given my fairly vague description
of the situation to begin with.

How to run a script without Photoshop's GUI or...

In VB/VB.Net you can use the visible property and make Photoshop invisible. I don't think it appreciably speeds up the processing but it does seem to help some.
The downside is if your application has some kind of issue and doesn't make Photoshop visible again before quitting. At least in older versions (pre CS3) I experienced Photoshop not showing itself even after stopping and restarting, including re-booting etc. You had to run a program that made it visible again. At least that was my experience.
I don't know if that is still true in CS2/CS3/CS4 however and may not be.
While I haven't done any highly controlled bench marking, I have found that in CS4 (at least the original public release of it), VB.net seemed to outperform java script doing the same thing by about 33%. I did my best to make both as efficient as possible and I just couldn't get the java script stuff to operate as fast. I was surprised. Again, it wasn't as controlled as it should have been, but it was at least consistent.
Another thing that should make the execution more efficient is to make sure the layers palette is either not shown or is collapsed. That actually seems to speed things up quite a bit. The program doesn't have to show all the changes happening in that palette. Of course all pallets that change upon execution of commands should also be closed or collapsed. This should be done even if you are going to minimize and/or hide photoshop too. I'm of the opinion (via observation) that the program knows when these palettes don't need to be updated and so they must avoid doing the code behind the display of the change.

The way to stop process chain running takes forever (without stop)

Someone here used to say in order to stop a process chain running in the middle, we can go to menu: Process Chain -> Remove from Schedule. However we have never made it successful since it runs forever without a stop.
Maybe there is a background process that we can go to kill them immediately that make the whole process chain run really stop?

I have a SQL 2008 R2 SP2 (10.50.4000) server running in production for some time. I'm setting up a new application (DPM 2012 R2) which requires Reporting services be installed on the database server. I installed the feature today on the SQL server,
but it's running at version 10.00.1600.
I need reporting services to be at SP2 for DPM to install. If I were to run the SQL server SP2 patch again, will I have to reboot or stop the production databases?

Build 10.00.1600 is SQL Server 2008 RTM, not SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM (10.50.1600). You need to upgrade reporting services to SQL Server 2008 R2 first then apply
SQL 2008 R2 SP2.

HOW TO FIX ? SLIDE SHOW STOPPED WORKING

I am running IPhoto Ver 9.2.3. ("Iphoto-11") on an Intel Imac Core i5 currently empowered by Mac OS Version 10.6.8.
Suddenly ,my Iphoto will no longer run slideshows.
None of the commands and buttons available in various IPhoto "views" will work tostart a slideshow and they all produce the same result: a brief dimming or flashing of the screen and then - nothing: absolutely no slide show .
I have tried turning off the screensaver slide show hoit corner, in case it was interfering but this has made no difference.
Iphoto's Slide Show has simply decided to suddenly no longer work .
What is the fix for this particular bug, weakness or susceptibility in the software ? Anyone know ?
I can think of nothing I might have done to cause this failure.

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does not then your current library is damaged. If that's the case try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
