How to run discoverer 3i viewer on a replicated snapshot site ?

hi,
we are using oracle discoverer viewer on a replicated snapshot site ,in discoverer viewer edition we query the reports made in oracle user edition.In discoverer user edition first we save the report in the database in the table DIS_DOCS_ in EUL.now when we try to replicate this table ,we found that the LONG RAW type column in this table cannot be replcated. Now if we create a snapshot of this table without this LONG RAW type column it gets replicated. Now if i run this report on discoverer 3i viewer through my replicated snapshot site, I got a error message ORA-00904 Invalid coloumn name . and report does not work. can any body help me in how to run the report on discoverer 3i viewer using a replicated snapshot site for the table DIS_DOCS_ (this table is created when u create the EUL in the Administration Edition of the Discoverer
THANKS.

    Hello Experts,
    I am aware that discoverer report can run through command line using "dis51usr.exe /connect username/passward@connection_string /opendb "DISCOVERER.<<report name>> /export xls"".
    Can we run discoverer 10g report (stored in database) from server location / unix command line? Is there any command?
    Please assist. Thank you.

    Hi Tamir,
    Can you please mention from where we have to execute/run these commands? After setting enviornmental variable, are these commands run from any location or we have to go to particular server location and then execute (ex. from directory BI or else).
    Thank you.

    See my reply to an earlier post today: "How to Connect to Discoverer Viewer " for more information. (How to Connect to Discoverer Viewer
    Since you have not installed an infrastructure and associated Discoverer with it, you will not see any button / link to create public connections in EM (App Server Control).
    You cannot use an existing database for your infrastructure. The Oracle Application Server infrastructure is installed in its own database.

  • How to run Discoverer on web browser

    Hello all,
    I have 10g database and Discovere Administrtor install on my system that have business area too. i want to access my report through browser.I want to access discovere through my web browser. Please tell me what other components I need to install ?
    Best regards

    Hi
    You need to install an Oracle Application Server in order to use Discoverer via a web browser. The software you need is on OTN at this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/devlic.html?url=/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101202.html
    You need to make sure you understand the License terms then click the acceptance buttons.
    On the next screen scroll down until you find the row entitled Business Intelligence. This is the software for the stand-alone install of Discoverer Plus and Viewer.
    Look across the row until you find the software that matches the platform you will be installing on then download the corresponding zipped files. Depending upon your platform, you will find that there are either 2 or 3 of these, and they all begin with the characters CD. For example, the Windows install has CD1 and CD2 whereas the HP install has CD1, CD2 and CD3.
    You should download these files then unzip them into the same location. This will create folders called Disk1, Disk2 and so in. The installer itself can be found in Disk1. There is also a comprehensive documentation that descibes the install which you should read.
    After you have installed 10.1.2.0.2 you should upgrade to 10.1.2.2 by getting hold of patch number 4960201 from Oracle MetaLink. You will need to have purchased an Oracle support license to get this upgrade.
    After that you are recommended to apply the latest cumulative patch which as of today is CP7.
    For more infomation on these patches please take a look at this posting on my blog: http://learndiscoverer.blogspot.com/2008/04/most-useful-patch-numbers.html

  • Running Discoverer Administrator

    I have Oracle 9iAS release 2 (9.0.2.0) installed and the installation type is Business Intelligence and Forms so I have Discoverer installed. The problem I have is that I don't know how to run Discoverer Administrator.
    I follow the PDF document instructions and there I read the following:
    From the Windows Start menu, choose Programs | Oracle9i Developer Suite - <HOME_NAME> | Discoverer Administrator to display the Connect to Oracle9i Discoverer Administrator dialog.
    When I click Windows Start menu and I choose Programs I don't find Oracle9i Developer Suite. I think it's because I have a Discoverer installation missing.
    Anyone knows what I have to install?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    hopefully this might help...
    1) create a new database ( i.e. in Enterprise Manager)
    2) create a new database user 'eul_owner' and give them a password and default tablespaces (in the new database) in Enterprise Manager.
    3) grant the database roles to the new user (as explained in the Discoverer documentation) i.e. connect + resource privileges to create tables , views, procedures etc
    4) attempt to logon to the new database user via SQL*Plus - using the new database's connect string.
    5) Once you can logon to the new database via the new user 'eul_owner' - logon to this database account using the Discoverer Administration Tool.
    6) Proceed and install a new End User Layer (EUL).
    7) ... hopefully this will all work...
    I understand that you need to create a database account (or have one created for you) to connect via the Discoverer Administration Tool. As far as I am aware - the installation of the Discoverer software does not create one for you.
    Hopefully this helps.

    Starting Discoverer Plus/Viewer from menu item in Oracle Applications R12 errors.
    Here is some general config information that is suspected to be the issue.
    1. Running Oracle Applications R12 over HTTPS.
    2. Running Discoverer Plus/Viewer over HTTP.
    3. Calling menu item that calls a function to start Plus/Viewer.
    Function Definition called by the menu item is listed blow.

    Fact: Starting Discoverer Plus using a URL works fine in the browser. The login page comes up and I can look in to Plus.
    The page that dose a redirection to start the Plus applet or Viewer web page fails with this error in IE 7.

  • Running Discoverer Desktop query.... via command line

    Hi Everyone,
    Hope all is well,
    I have learned how to run Discoverer using command line.
    My question is:
    ===========
    When you log into Discoverer manually, the parameters values that were last used in the last run display when
    the query opens....
    When i run Discoverer command line, i have to explicitly mention all the parameter names and their values
    If i do not mention the parameters, i get an error message: unresolve parameter...
    I'd really like to run the query command line style WITHOUT mentioning parameters, and wish Discoverer to run
    the query with the default parameters....
    Is this possible...
    Thx for your ideas and advice, sandra

  • How in Discoverer 4i viewer (Web) to set the size of the Chart(Graph)?

    Hello all,
    How in Discoverer 4i viewer (Web) to set the size of the Chart(Graph) by default?
    Thanks very much for any help.

    Hi,
    I had a look and don't ask me why but it seems that you can't add extra rectangles in a sub table. But weirdly, it seems possible to add tables.
    I mean you can't add a rectangle using
    app.activeDocument.textframes.tables.tables.cell.insertionpoint.rectangles.add
    //remove any reference, that's conceptual at this time.
    The idea I had at the first place but put aside cause to its heaviness is to cheat.
    Instead of adding the rectangle, we are going to copy & paste it.
    So let's keep all the things you need (rectheight & rectwidth).
    But this time, let's use
    var oRect = app.activeDocument.rectangles.add({geometricBounds:[0,0,rectheight,rectwidth]});
    //You may need to use app.activeDocument.pages[x]... if you have a multi pages doc.
    app.select(oRect);
    app.cut()
    app.select(oInsertionPoints.item(-1));
    app.paste();
    heavy but it works.

  • Discoverer Viewer(4i) to run Discoverer-reports(10g) with Apps(11.5.0)

    We are running Discoverer Viewer(4i) to run Discoverer-Workbooks(10g) with Apps(11.5.0) but we are facing error like 'Unable to fetch workbook' .I guess this is b'coz EUL created in 10g not getting compatible with 4i Discoverer Viewer.
    If this is the problem what is my next step?
    Can anyone plz help me in detail.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    You would need to upgrade everything to the same level if you want to open Discoverer 10g workbooks. This means your EUL will need to be upgraded and you will need to abandon the 4i server and upgrade to the 10g server.
    I would encourage you to do so anyway because 10g is much better than 4i.
    Best wishes

    I tried to display the binary file saved in the database in BLOB column with the *.doc or *.xls fomats, but it seemed not work at all. I can display them in discoverer DESKTOP, but not the web version PLUS or VIEWER. MY Discoverer PLUS/VIEWER version is 9.0.4.45.02 and the database is 9.2.0.4. Are there any special setting/configuration in somewhere (Discoverer administration/Applicaiton server/PLUS/VIEWER?)

    Hi,
    Sorry but this feature is not available in the web version of 9.0.4.45. You will have to write your own mod_plsql function to download the file.
