How to run JDeveloper on non-windows platforms?

I downloaded the base install package from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft11tp.html and unzipped the resulting package. It seems to have Windows .exe files in it and not shell scripts or pure Java.
How does one launch JDeveloper from this package on Linux or OS X? Or is there an alternative package somewhere to look for that is intended for use on non-Windows platforms?

The [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11tp/install.html]install guide has specific instructions for both Linux and OSX.
You may also be aware - the JDev 11g ADF version is going to be released within a week or so (announced at OOW)

Run AD Relink as follows.

If you have arguements to rimreg (like port number) create a .bat script and use that to launch it.

Its simply a matter of opinion, but I'm 3-months-in, developing for WM5 + WM6 and the only usable solution I've found that has the correct look and feel on Windows Mobile as well as JSR support is IBM's J9.
It's not free, but I searched high and low, and it's the only product that I was happy with.

You mean to say you installed Workflow Builder on your laptop? See that Oracle Workflow has a Client Side (WF Builder), a backend Server side and middle application side.
Assuming you successfully installed the client side then you must have a group of programs called Oracle OUIHome and there one called Application Development. There you should be able to find Workflow builder.

How to run VS2005/CR on Windows 8.1?

I have a VS2005 forms app that produces reports using Crystal Reports (10.2). I can run the app on Windows 8.1, but when I try to display a report I get an error saying that the CR runtime cannot be found. I've run the CR2005_x86 installer, apparently successfully, and the C++2005 runtime for good measure.
I've also installed VS2005 on the Windows 8.1 machine (with SP1 and SP1 for Vista) and can open/edit the reports within VS2005, but running from VS2005 gets the same "can't find the runtime" error.
I've tried changing permissions on whatever I can find (in a VM sandbox) to no avail.
Am I missing something, or is it a "can't be done - you'll need to upgrade (to VS2012 etc)"?

Thanks to a reply on another forum (Sabre on Stack Exchange), the solution is to install the 64-bit version of Crystal Reports 2005 (cr_net_2005_x64.msi) on the (64-bit) Windows 8.1 machine. The C++ runtime does not seem to be required.

I enabled it from Windows Features, then it required me to reboot the PC.
When Windows rebooted it hung on the loading screen so I had to restart it.
It then shows automatic repair and I have to use a Restore Point to make Windows work again.

And according to the following blog, some hardware features that Hyper-V does not utilize and enabling them will prevent Hyper-V from loading. (If your BIOS doesn't have this hardware feature, then igonre this part)

We have a situation. We monitor an application very closely for failure rate. Many users are currently just logging off windows when leaving work. When they use windows log off it kills this application which intern return non-zero exit code(indicating application
problem).
Is there a way to run a batch/powershell script to close application first(we have a method to close it gracefully) before log off process is triggered by windows 7.
We tried putting a routine in GPO log off script. But widows log off kills all applications before the routine has chance to run.

I am using netbeans 5.5 to develop some GUI application.
I need to deploy it to some machine that may not have jdk installed at all. i.e can someone run my application w/o install jdk or jre specifically?
I have myapp.jar built in dist/ folder. the readme said it will include all jar to dist\lib, but I don't even see the dist\lib folder.
