How to run nested run logics

hai ,
i am using run logic in one logic file. and i have to this logic in an wrapher package with *include logicname.lgf
but the issue is it is not calling the run logic in include file is their any way to call the function.
thanks,
Rajesh

hai,
i found the scenario.
that this is ms version and doesnt have badi..
so i splitted the code and i added two seperate execute formulas task and name as the name of the logic splitted.
and datamanger prompts are updated according to that.
thats works....
thanks,
Rajesh

    Hi All
    I got a script logic funding.which contains 6 sub logics in it.

    reservers lgf.
    my problem is if i run the above logic for full year my balance sheet is out of balace. becoz my fund_ob is pulling prior values.
    how can i run above set of logic by month wise.
    for jan:
    tax lgf
    initialize lgf
    fund_ob lgf

    If you are saying that you need to run a different set of logic for one month vs. another month,. then take a look at *Logic_BY and *Logic_Mode and *Logic_Property keywords in the online help, these allow you to run a different "default" logic script based on (in your example) the time dimension member being sent.  You will need to add a property called LOGIC to the Time dimension, and populate it with the name of the logic file you'll call in logic.

  • How to run Logic Pro 7 on a MacBook ?

    I have bought a MacBook in replacement of my PowerBook G4. I own Logic Pro 7.1 for a long time and cannot install it on my MacBook because it requires version 7.2.
    The Apple Store says « sorry, the crossgrade to version 7.2 for use on Intel based computers is not on sale any longer... ».
    I feel lost...

    Get on the phone to Apple and they should be able to get you to what you need. Might have to bounce around a bit, but you'll probably get it.

  • How can I run more than one VST on a PC slave running Logic 5.5?

    I have moved from PC to Intel Mac (good!) and wish to run several non Intel VST apps from a slave PC running Logic 5.5 (ie Trilogy, Atmosphere).
    My question is (and forgive my stupidity if the answer is obvious) how can I address each virtual instrument from the Mac? Currently I operate MidioverLAN CP which enables my PC computer to receive midi but I seem only to be able to access one instrument at a time, not permitting me to run several apps at once.
    many thanks in advance for any kind help

    Logic 5.5 is not an ideal VST host, as by default, only one virtual instrument is in Live mode, and you can't rig up environment solutions without a large latency (which makes it unusable).
    There is a workaround involving putting a bypassed IO plugin on your instrument tracks, and then you can use environment cabling without the large latency (it tricks Logic into putting all instruments in Live mode). Then you'd cable your physical input through a channel splitter and onto the audio instruments to assign each a MIDI channel as has been discussed to death on this forum.
    If there isn't a reason you must use Logic 5.5 PC to do this, then there are much better PC VST hosting apps and I recommend looking into them...

    I updated to OS X Mavericks and now trying to run Logic Pro X on a MacBook Pro mid-2009, using an M-Audio Axiom 49 and an M-Audio Fast Track Pro... Logic keeps telling me that Mac OS X MIDI Services are not available... How do I solve this problem?

    I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
    My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As".  So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail.  I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time.  Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
    Here's what I know:
    The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
    The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
    The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
    The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
    The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
    I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update.  None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them.  This is maddening!  What can be done?  Apple?? Anyone???

  • I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money? Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound? Will I need adaptors and a interface?

    I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money?
    Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound?
    Will I need adaptors and an interface?
    Also, I am guessing as Logic only runs on MAC surely then they would not the best spec to recommend to run it?
    I see all the upgrades as additional memory or a faster process?
    Is a retina screen necessary, and why flash based storage against a 1TB hard drive, and a i5 instead of an i7
    The main reason for this purchase is to play live and use backing tracks and record found sounds and make creative songs.
    I hope you can provide some valuable feedback, as I am a longtime MAC user and see upgrades and changes happen regularly but the most important thing is the songs not the equipment.
    I have £500 already and willing to add another 500 to 700 pounds, then software extra.

  • How to run Amp Farm in Logic Express 8?

    I'm new to all this so any help would be greatly appreciated! . . . . . .
    Im running Logic Express 8 without any problems, I've just installed Line 6 Amp Farm and that runs without a problem. The problem I am having is-
    I want to run Logic and use the sounds/amps from Amp Farm but cant figure out how to do it? I've searched the net and cant find anything about how to do it, I've also had a good look through the Logic user guide but had no luck. . . . . . .
    HELP PLEASE!
    John.

    Heres where I'm at so far-
    I've been into Logic and opened Preferences/Audio Units Manager and then validated Pod Farm.
    I go into Browser and Library on the far right to find tones on the far right of the Logic interface, I can find all the Garageband tones/sounds and all the Logic tones/Sounds but there's nothing related to line 6 Farm. The only way I can get into the line 6 stuff is to use the browser and go - Documents/Line 6/Tones/Pod Farm/Guitar/then into the folders where the tones are but the folders seem empty.
    I know the folders aren't empty because if I go into them normally, not using Logic, all the tones are there in the relevant folders and when they are clicked on it opens Pod farm.

  • I am running Logic Pro 9.1.7, and I use a Roland RD700GX keyboard to input midi data into Logic.  How do I set up Logic to record the Roland's own internal Grand Piano sounds into Logic, while retaining the ability to make midi edits? By Eggie

    I am running Logic Pro 9.1.7 on a mid-2011 Intel iMac running OS10.7.4. I use a Roland RD700GX as my midi input keyboard.  How can I set up Logic to record The RD700GX's own internal Grand Piano sounds, while retaining the ability to take advantage of Logic 9's midi editing capabilities. I am a relative newcomer to Logic, and I haven't been able to find an answer in The Logic 9 User Manual. A step by step procedure would be much appreciated. Thank you.
    Eggie0379

    Create a new External Midi Track, set the MIDI port to the one being connected to teh RD700. Now,create a new Software Instrument track. Select the external instrument plug-in. Set the MIDI destination and the audio input inside the Plug-in. Now, you can record the MIDI notes and hear the sound of the RD700. Once you've editied, you can bounce the track.

  • How to call category dimension in run logic

    hai all,
    i has an senario that i has to derive the category in datamanager prompt.
    i has to pass the value into the run logic
    how can i pass the catagory value which is derived in the datamanagar prompt to RUNLOGIC syntax
    can any one help me out...
    thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hello Rajesh,
    i'm not sure that I've understand your question, but if you want to pass the category from the package to the lgf file you must add a prompt instruction to the package f.e. PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,"Please select category",%CATEGORY_DIM%) and in the script logic refers to it using
    XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=%CATEGORY_SET% this works with all the dimensions, just substituting category with the other dimension names.
    Please refers to Script logic/Rules Keyword Reference/Special Keywords

    Hi, Q
    Go to the Macprovideo site.
    When you get the home page loaded, scroll down until you see a section called MPV Hub on the left side of the page. [At present it's under a series of banners for the Logic X Tutorials]
    On the right hand side is a heading 1697 Articles with a blue link under saying See All.
    Click the link and scroll the first MPV Hub page You'll see the article just after a review of Arturia's Spark LE
    Hope this helps,

  • How much memory to run Logic 9 smoothly

    Hi all
    I'm the happy owner of a new iMac 21,5" since yesterday. Brilliant machine.
    It comes with 4GB of memory DDR3. Snow Leopard is the OS.
    I will be using it mainly to produce music, using Logic Studio 9.
    Is there any point on upgrading the memory to 8 Gigs, will that help managing big projects, or is it a waste of money?
    Thanks in advance

    I agree, I think that 4 gig should be enough to run Logic smoothly.
    Here's my question though... if you've already ordered it with 4 gig, is it even possible to upgrade it later to 8 gig? I'm sure it is possible but is feasible for the average Joe to tear apart their iMac and add additional RAM. Is it easy to get to on these new guys or would you have to send it in to Apple?

  • How to run Pro Tools 7.4 LE and Logic Studio 8.0.2, simultaneously..

    My setup: single Quad Core 2.8GHz 8GB of RAM, running Logic Studio 8.0.2 (projectmix)
    Single 1.8 GHz G5 running Pro Tools LE 7.4 (digi 002 rack)
    I want to set up Logic (as master) as my main sequencer, to run Pro Tools for audio.
    What's the best setup?
    1. Midi the two interfaces together, sync by MTC, or Midi Clock….if so, what are the settings, as I had an unsuccesful run at it using MTC...
    or
    2. Run both programs on my Quad Core - is there a way to have Logic run Pro Tools on the same machine - with two different interfaces on separate firewire ports?
    Any info would be appreciative.
    Thanks

    I did the following:
    Set up the audio output for the Logic to be the internal sound card, and hook up this via Digital lightpipe to the Digi002 rack lightpipe inputs, set them to SPDIF in the hardware setup page. You'll need a special adaptor to go out of the headphone outs of your mac to turnit into digital signal. Check your Mac's manual for that.
    Then set up an IAC buss for the midi, inside the AudioMidiSetup software,and tell ProTools to send MTC to this IAC buss, while telling Logic to receive MTC via the same IAC buss. Make SURE you ahve the same exact SMPTE and MTC flavor on both amchnes, and also the right sample rate (match it on both)
    Then, set an Aux input in ProTools Le to accept the incoming SPDIF stereo signal from Logic, press play, and they both now synch perfectly.
    Cheers

  • I am considering buying a new Macbook Pro 13" non-retina either the 2.5 GHz or the 2.9 GHz version to run Logic Pro X. My question is whether there is a noticeable difference in how well Logic Pro X works with the 2.9 GHz model vs the 2.5 GHz one.

    Is there a noticeable performance improvement with running Logic Pro X on a 2.9 GHz model vs the 2.5 GHz one and yes I would have 8GB of RAM installed on the 2.5 GHz one if I were to buy it. Thanks!

    My buying advice - the 'entry-level' new 15" MacBook Pro. Take a look at the specs. It's a wonderful machine - and you can upgrade RAM and HD to fit your needs without voiding the warranty. I don't know of any apps that I currently run that can't take advantage of the quad-core, and almost everything is 64-bit now.
    I'd used the money you saved from not buying an out-dated 17" and put it into software. If you're transitioning from Windows that can add up quickly (which isn't to say you can't run your Windows apps using Boot Camp or a VM like Parallels.
    Just my opinion - but if I could buy anything I wanted right now, I'd go with one of the upgraded 15" non-Retina MacBook Pros.

    Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
    Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
    I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
    I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
    Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
    And driver? OS X driver?

  • How to run long background jobs in ADF applications

    Hi,
    I'm looking for some guidance on how to run an asynchronous job within an ADF application with proper progress notification in the current page.
    Let's assume we have some long running task (e.g. generating notification emails from a bunch of rows in my view object and send them) with the corresponding classes implemented in the DataModel as part of the business logic (e.g. a class that sends a mail to a given recipient).
    Let's assume all the relevant methods can be exposed in the appmodule's client interface so they can be invoked from the ViewController if needed.
    In my jspx page I have implemented the standard af:poll+af:progressIndicator mechanism to give feedback about the running task, backed by a custom BoundedRangeModel
    with methods getValue() and getMaximum(). This works.
    However, all the examples I've found on the net are very very simplistic and only deal with simple counters or countdowns.
    But how to actually implement the whole mechanism in a real life scenario? How do I run the job itself and make it give feedback to my BoundedRangeModel class
    (which in turn is used by the progressIndicator on the page)?
    Is there a recommended way to do this within ADF apps? I've tried to search something about asynchronous method execution in ADF but there seems to be nothing out there.
    Do I need to use standard Java techniques such as a separate Thread running a Runnable worker? Should I use an observer/observable pattern to notify BoundedRangeModel
    and update its internal variables (current value and maximum)? Would this work across a Datacontrol interface?
    Is anything of this allowed within the ADF framework or I'm just gonna break the whole framework model because do-it-yourself concurrent programming isn't allowed in a multithreaded pooled environment?
    Some explanation about the current recommended best practices and/or some practical examples or articles about that would be great.
    (BTW: I'm using version 11.1.1.2.0 and yes, I've checked the contextual events thing too, but that's just an inter-page communication mechanism so it has has nothing to do with what I need to do.)

    Hi
    I have implement a "Runner" class to generate a pdf to every customer of a mailmerge file, which was uploaded. Its simply easy to do something like this. Just add a button, bound the button with a methode out of you applicationModule and start your implementing Thread in this methode.
    public class Runner implements Runnable {
        private String docFileName;
        private String csvFileName;
        private byte[] csvData;
        private byte[] docData;
        private FtpClient client;
        private String category;
        public Runner(String category, String docFileName, byte[] docData,
                      String csvFileName, byte[] csvData, FtpClient client) {
            this.category = category;
            this.docFileName = docFileName;
            this.docData = docData;
            this.csvFileName = csvFileName;
            this.csvData = csvData;
            this.client = client;
        public void run() {
    }In your applicationModule, you can start your Runner like this:
            Runner runner =
                new Runner(category, docFileName, docData, csvFileName, csvData, client);
            new Thread(runner).start();And to the problem with your progressBar. I would create a managedBean with a HashMap<String, HashMap<String, String>>. Every thread you start, add a HashMap<String, String> to this hashmap with the id of the username/session/whatever (must be bound to the user, which starts the thread). This added HashMap<String, String> should be used by your thread to put some status-information into. Now you can try to bind this info to your progressBar.
    I dont know if this will work, it is just an idea ;-)

    Majo
