  • How to Run the NEW "System Info Command" in Tiger ?????

    I am new to Applescript and was wondering if someone could help me on how to run the new "System Info Command"?
    Thanks!!!

    The "system info" command that red_menace uses above is the new system info command that's mentioned on the web page you referenced. However, red's example only displays the "long user name" and the "AppleScript version" in the dialog.
    The entire system info record actually contains all of these items, each of which you can access just like red_menace shows you in his example:
    AppleScript version
    AppleScript Studio version
    system version
    short user name
    long user name
    user ID
    user locale
    home directory
    boot volume
    computer name
    host name
    IPv4 address
    primary Ethernet address
    CPU type
    CPU speed
    physical memory
    Steve
    PS - if you switch Script Editor over so the bottom pane displays the "Event Log" you'll see the entire system info record displayed in the log when you run red_menace's script.

    There are many third party softwares available to convert any application to run from system tray. Try utilities like Trayit! . You can download this software from http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm
    If you want to code everything by yourself, then refer this link given below .

  • How to minimize itunes to system tray

    In previous versions of iTunes, you were able to minimize itunes into the system tray rather than to the windows taskbar.  I have not been able to get this to happen again in the past couple of versions of iTunes.  Could you give me a breakdown on what or how to do it?  I am running windows 8.1.

    Do you mean the part of the taskbar immediately to the right of the Start button (with the little icons for programs)?
    If so:
    1. Right click on the taskbar. A menu will pop up. If there is a checkmark next to "Lock the Taskbar," then uncheck it (so it is unlocked, so you can make changes).
    2. Press (and hold) the Control key, while you click and drag the iTunes icon that is on your desktop to the taskbar.
    3. Re-lock your taskbar.

  • Run program in system tray.

    Hi guys. how do i run my JFrame application in the system tray without using native code?

    You can use the JTray API (Java System Tray API For Windows) that can be found at http://www.JavaAPIs.com. It supports several image types, animation, and display of AWT and Swing Components as pop-ups.

  • How do I minimize to system tray?

    I am just new to Firefox and it looks pretty good, but I would always like to have it open and so when I minimize I would like it to show as an icon in the Systems Tray. How can I achieve this?

    you'd have to install an addon like this one to get that feature: [https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/minimizetotray-revived/]

  • How to run commands upon system boot as user?

    How can I as a user run commands upon system boot? In Vixie's cron, one can use the @reboot syntax in a crontab, and the job is ran every time the cron daemon starts. Arch however, uses Dillon's cron which seems not support this feature.

    bwalk wrote:Hmm, does not work, because root owns init, so everything requires root. stb's version is valid, the -s parameter drops privileges to <USER>, spawns a shell and executes <COMMAND>. So, no security problem whatsoever.
    So there is nothing like @reboot in vixiecron?

    click ie minimize button and show an icon in system tray area not in task bar
    and then click the icon to restore the ie window.
    help me about this,thank you very much!

    Use JNI.
    I have seen the code posted on this forum before on how to do this, I think by me. Also the example on using JNI ("99% Java" article) does this.
    So STFF.

  • How to move Icons to system Tray on my TouchSmart 610-1130y

    I would like  to be able to move Icons to my system tray.

    Click on Control Panel and then click Notification Area Icons.  It will give you the list of available programs and behaviors to configure.  If the program that you wish to be displayed is not displayed you can check the settings of that program to see if the option is available.  If it is not you can drag any file or program to the taskbar and it will create the shortcut there for easy access.

  • Gnome system tray

    Alright, im using gnome desktop, and I have installed wine then installed steam within wine.  Whenever i run steam it puts its little icon in the 'system tray'.  Anyways, i guess i don't have an actual tray on my gnome setup since it has opened up a small little window with just the icon in it, and I even has a window item on the bottom bar where each different window goes...how do i get a system tray in one of the panels?
    thanks

    Add it? Right click on the panel, add applet, system tray ?
    Have you installed gnome-extra btw ?

    I am using JDK 1.6 with Netbeans 5.5 and currently trying to make an system tray application. I have one main class which runs as a system tray application and one JFrame class which will be shown when user selects a menu item from system tray. So far so good but a small problem. Thanks

    set the DefaultCloseOperation of the JFrame to DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE instead of EXIT_ON_CLOSE

  • Change dynamic system tray tooltip

    How does one change the system tray tooltip dynamically....
    I have set it programatically on startup like so
    if (NativeApplication.supportsSystemTrayIcon){
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.autoExit = false;
    icon.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,
    iconLoadComplete);
    icon.load(new URLRequest("/assets/icons/sun_23x23.png"));
    var sysTrayIcon:SystemTrayIcon =
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.icon as SystemTrayIcon;
    sysTrayIcon.tooltip = "FSI Widget";
    sysTrayIcon.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,undock);
    sysTrayIcon.menu = createIconMenu();
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    You can set the tooltip at any time, however, the displayed
    text won't change while the tooltip is currently being
    viewed.

  • Turn console app into hidden system tray thinger...

    yes, i'm sure this question is goin to be annoying, but if anyone could point me in the right direction in this..
    ive got a console app that i'd like to run in the system tray (not showing any MS DOS window in the task bar)
    any directions here would be greatly appreciated =D

    Do you want and actual Sys-Tray icon thingy? If so, there is a JNI method of doing it. Goto the Programming forum and search for JNI and System Tray, you may yet find it.
    If you just don't want the MS-DOS or Command window, then just use javaw and launch from a Batch, or shortcut, or JAR.
