Just bought a Mac mini, I used windows for years & very much new to the Mac system. Since all my docs In Microsoft excel & word, I also bought a software called parallels
Kindly guide me how to install the windows MS softwares in my Mac mini using Parallel software

Read the Parallels documentation. Get a retail Windows 7 installer DVD. For issues with Parallels visit their forum for assistance. For issues with Windows use the Windows forums here or at Microsoft.

Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows. The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is an Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. Longman Exams Coach CD - How to run on a Mac

I have recently bought +Longman Exams Coach+ CD, but it unfortunately won't run on Mac because it is incompatible with it (compatible only with Windows XP/2000). Do you about any way how to run it on Mac, which wouldn't pricey like VMWare Fusion or Windows 7 with BootCamp Assistant? I need an easy and inexpensive solution to run this CD.
Or, if there isn't any way to run in it Mac, do you about any other such a CD (of course compatible with Mac) that has exam practice, exercices, dictionary, etc.?

Your recovery disk was automatically created when Lion was installed. You'll have it as a separate partition and be able to boot from it as if it were a separate disk.

I have been using Play on Mac and Wine for the past couple of weeks, but now suddenly it has stopped working, only crashing and giving me nightmares. Meta Trader 4 is Windows only - Office is available for the Mac and Windows and are mostly compatible but given that you'll be doing online trading you may prefer the Windows version of Excel since there are financial spreadsheets with macros that only run on the Mac with some significant editing.
You can install Windows 7 or 8 in BootCamp or any version of Windows usting virtualization. VMWare and Parallels are commercial programs and VirtualBox is open source. VB may be all you need. Whatever solution you choose, you'll need a commercial version of Windows (or get an OEM disc from NewEgg).

How will running windows XP affect my Mac?

I am very new to Mac's. When I bought it two weeks ago I learned about bootcamp and how you could run both Windows and OSX, I thought this would be great because I would like to be able to play a favorite game of mine on here. However, when using Windows I have had nothing but viruses. If I used bootcamp to run Windows XP, would I be just as likely to get viruses and crap on my Mac as I would be on any other computer? And if I did get a virus or something, would it be contained to the XP part of the hard drive, or would my whole computer get hit?

running Windows on a Mac is like running Windows on any other computer.
So, after what you have experienced would you run Windows without an Anti-Virus software ?
While the Mac and Mac OSX are immune to Windows viruses due to the different nature of the operating system, it can nonetheless be the source of Windows viruses infiltrating your Windows partition on your Mac, when you use an infected USB pendrive (or a CD/DVD or the internet).

I want to install Windows 7 on my MBP mid 2012 but in Boot Camp does not appear the check box: "Install or remove Windows 7 or later version". I continued with making the USB bootable with Windows 7 but then when I restart and boot with the USB I still can't install Windows because then I receive an error: ""Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of GPT partition style."
From OS with Boot Camp I didn't manage to make a partition for Windows instead I made one with Disk Utility (formated FAT).
After booting from USB that partition was also formated into NTFS necessary for Windows. Still the same error.
Any idea how to install Windows on my MAC?

If you are refering to this I tried to update the EFI version (I see only SMC version 2.9 as a diferrence of what I have) but on installing I received an error: "This software is not supported on your system."

How to run Windows update for Win XP SP3 using Firefox

My desktop PC is running windows XP with SP3. My spouse uses IE 8 for her browser. I use Firefox Version 24. for my browser. Previously, whenever we ran MS or Windows update it starts IE and runs fine. IE 8 has blown up and no longer works (Runtime Errors). I tried to go to the Windows update website using Firefox and it came back and told me that I had to use IE to run Win update on an XP system. Is this true? I don't want to use IE at all. Is there a way to use Firefox to run Windows or MS update on my Win XP system? Thank you.

Thanks for your help. That is not what I wanted to hear so I will have to try to get IE 8 working again. How do other folks do updates? Does this mean that IE is absolutely necessary to maintain your windows system? Is this true for the newer versions of Windows, 7 or 8?
