How to save a large jpg from a small eps

I created a logo in ai cs5 that is the size of 7w x 4h. But I wanted to be able to create a larger jpg. Since the vector format allows for the image to be scaled, is there a way to scale it larger, then create a jpg at this larger size? Or, is there a way to scale it to 500% and then save it as a new file with this enlarged size being 100%? I'm fairly new to AI, but have used PS for quite some time, so please be gentle.
Thanks,
Don

Jacob,
Thanks. That helped for the large jpg. I appreciate it.

    How do I move large files from a Windows computer to my MacBook Pro? There are a lot of photos (tiffs, jpgs, some photoshopped files), iTunes library, word docs. Is there a particular type of external hard drive that can be used or am I limited to copying stuff onto z-drive and moving that way?

    If both computers are on the same network, you can share the files from the Windows host using SMB and mount the share on the Mac. Otherwise, the Mac should be able to read (not necessarily write) any storage device formatted in Windows.

    Please can someone tell me how to save a MP3 file from my email on my iPad so I can put it on Faceboo? I use hotmail and please tell me step by step as I am not a tech guru lol. Thankyou

    Hi jscher200,
    Thank you for your reply, sorry for the VERY late late response, but I have just figured out how to control this separate 'panel'. I find it really useful for monitoring Google Analytics in as it can just sit there running. It does have its limitations, as it's a limited size (you can't expand it to full screen view), so you can only ever see a vertical section of a website and need to scroll to look to the right or left, but I have the live view of people accessing my website running on there and if the numbers start racking up at any time, I can scroll to look and see what pages they are accessing, where they've been referred from, etc.
    To get it to work, you save a website address in the Bookmarks Toolbar and when you can see it sitting on the toolbar at the top of the screen with its little icon, right click on it then click 'properties', then tick the box 'Load this bookmark in the sidebar'. The next time you click on this bookmark to open the website, it will load in this sidebar, which looks like a separate 'window' but is immovable. You can only have one sidebar application running at a time, but can change it by right clicking on the bookmark you want to load in there and it will then change to that one next time you click on that bookmark.
    I hope this might be useful to others, as I asked for help with this on loads of forums and not one person knew that this existed - even really skilled techies!

    How To Save Screen Shot Photo From iPAD to JPEG FORMAT

    The "iPad format" is PNG (which is better quality than JPEG).
    There is no way to choose JPEG at the moment of taking the screen shot. You will need to convert the file using conversion software, probably on your computer. Google "convert PNG to JPEG".

    Hi Joakins,
    I think Lloyd has a point here in that all I see there which is really database related is a connection string.
    Maybe your question is more general though and you're just asking how to work with a database as a general principle.
    Personally, I like entity framework and would recommend that.
    You can read a shed load of stuff about it.

    With WPF almost every dev uses MVVM and I'm no exception.

  • How To save a music file from an email

    PLEASE HELP ME I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO SAVE SONG FROM MY ITUNES LIBRARY THAT U SENT TO MY EMAIL
    Post relates to: Pixi Plus p8wu0 (AT&T)

    Open email attachments
    You can receive any kind of file sent to you in email, but you can open an
    attachment only if your phone has an application that can open the file type.
    To open a single attachment: Tap the attachment name to download the
    attachment. If the attachment is a supported file type (MP3, PDF, DOC,
    XLS, PPT, GIF, or JPG), it opens automatically.
    To open multiple attachments: Tap the list of attachment names to view
    the attachments, and tap an attachment name to open the file.
    Save attachments;
    When you open attachments of certain file types, you can save them to your
    phone so you can view them later in one of your phone’s applications.
    1. Open the attachment (see Open email attachments).
    2. Do one of the following:
    • For pictures in JPG, GIF, BMP or PNG format, tap Copy To Photos.
    • For other file types, open the application menu and tap Save As. If
    the Save As menu item is not available, you cannot save the
    attachment.
    To open a saved attachment on your phone, open the application that can
    display the attachment. The attachment appears in the list of available files.
    Tap the file to open it.

  • How to save JPEG larger then 30.000px?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm new to Photoshop, so probably this is very or too basic for most of you. I just wonder what settings or option do I need to take, if I want to save my .PSB as a JPEG and want to avoid reducing the size down to 30.000px.
    Actually I do not care if some editors won't be able to handle JPEGs larger then 30.000px.
    I just want to produce one with 39.000px, and can't imagine PS won't allow me to do that.
    So what's the trick?
    Please help! Thank you!

    According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JPEG)
    It supports a maximum image size of 65535×65535.
    So it seems you are right that Adobe’s limit is not implicitly necessary for the format.
    You could save a tif and open that in Preview (as you don’t state your OS I can just act as if you were a Mac-user) and save the jpg from there.
    Unfortunately the 30.000-pixel-restriction seems to also apply in Photoshop when opening and Indesign when placing files, so you may not be able to use that jpg in an Adobe workflow.
    Why do you want the image as a jpg anyway?

    thanks.

         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              new Test1().run();
         private void run() throws IOException {
              JLabel lb = new JLabel("Test Text");
              lb.setOpaque(true);
              JFrame f = new JFrame();
              f.getContentPane().add(lb);
              f.pack();
              saveJPG_1(lb, new File("test1.jpg"));
              saveJPG_2(lb, new File("test2.jpg"));
              f.dispose();
         private void saveJPG_1(Component c, File file) throws IOException {
              Dimension dim = c.getPreferredSize();
              Image im = c.createImage(dim.width,dim.height);
              c.paint(im.getGraphics());

              c.paint(im.getGraphics());
              ImageIO.write(im, "jpg", file);
    }

    Lazy loading is common place among variety of
    systems.
    Java GUI runtime must be doing it because on my
    Linux/JDK 1.6(build 61), component c is null at:
    c.paint(....);
    when adding onto contentpane is commented out.Lazy loading means classes are loaded on demand and at the last moment possible. What makes you think that this allows for a variable to be null even after the component has been instantiated? And what does the Java "GUI runtime" have to do with it? It's the class loader that's responsible for this. It should be impossible for c to be null at that point in the code. You're using a beta JDK though right? Perhaps that's the culprit.
    the code shows 2 methods to save component to jpg,

    Can you display a JPanel on the screen without help? No. At some level it has to go back to a heavyweight widget. In this case the JFrame is that widget, so without it or a supplement you can't create the graphics context to create an Image of what that JPanel would look like displayed.

    I don't understand the problem. You write in the program where to save files, and it saves them there. Do you mean something else?

  • How to save/load JTextPane to/from file?

    One of the simplest questions re Swing.
    How to save a JTextField onto a file?
    And, how to read back it onto a newed JTextPane?
    Yes, I have searched, searched and searched on the net, in vain.

    Assuming he's wanting to do the reasonable thing, I'm trying to do it too.
    linuxoid, I suspect he (and I) are looking for a way to save the contents. After all, a control that you can't get the information out of is pretty useless.
    Styled text is often just a BLOB to the rest of the app. It is in my case, and it probably is in his.
    I'm having the same trouble he is.
    I want to make a JTextPane, let the user edit it, then get some reasonably portable representation of it's current contents that I can serialize. A string representation of XML sounds dandy. Incomprehensible binary is acceptable. A representation in some markup language that I can insert in some other document and have it act like I'm inserting text in the editor would make me more than happy.
    Ideally, what I, and probably he, are looking for is something like
    JTextPane myPainIsGreat = new JTextPane();
    ... life goes on...the user writes poetry and turns the words tacky colors...
    String thisICanDealWith = myPainIsGreat.getStyledTextRepresentation();
    knowing better I'd settle for
    myPainIsGreat.writeStyled(someWriter)
    sadly, JTextPane's write just returns unstyled text

    Don't use clipping masks, use artboards and enable the "use artboards" option on export.
