How to save and restore Music from iTunes without using library ?

Could yous help me please ?
I use an 60 giga iPod I started to fill it with my CDs without using library, just directly in it, I delete the Music in the library after record to save place on may computer. I have nearly 7 megas of Music stored. To fill 60 Giga it wille takes at least 6 months on my rest time. At the end if i loose my iPod or if stolen or broken or if i want to buy a new iPod of 80 Giga for example to store more Music ? How can i save Music in my iPod on a Hard Disk or DVD and restore on it or on a new one ? Is it possible or not allowed by iTunes to avoid Music copie ?

If you are concerned about using up your computer's hard drive for music, and are using iTunes 7, you might consider creating your library on an external drive if one is available.

Connect the old phone to your computer, right click on it in iTunes, and choose Transfer Purchases. That should put all of your music in iTunes except any tracks that were not purchased from iTunes. If I am understanding you correctly, it sounds like you are returning to an old iPhone that has been erased and you would like to set it up as a new device without restoring from a backup which would affect the name of your iPhone, as well as the contents therein. Basically, it seems like you may be stuck on a screen that is asking if you would like to restore your device from the backup that is filed under the name of your new iPhone, or if you would like to set up the device as a new device. You must "Add" the tracks to your library. Select Add to Library from iTunes' File menu. Select your downloaded track(s) then click on the Open button in the file dialog. Thanks, I tried that. It shows me only the songs i purchased and just gives me a snippet of the song. After much more reading and a phone call, it looks like Match will stream all the songs in my iTunes account without having to download them, but of course for a fee :( Thanks though.

The only supported method to get media onto an iDevice is via iTunes. Read the User's Guide it will describe how to do this in detail.
iCloud does not put media on the device, but using iTunes Match and iCloud it is possible to have access to all media that exists on your computer, but only when the device has Internet access. It will not load media onto the device.
Use of 3rd party tools to transfer files to the device is not supported.

I've been having trouble with my phone memory (16gb) being used up by music. I recently change setting to have it covert higher bit songs to 128 kbps which seemed to help.
I just converted to new iOs 7 and it started downloading all music from iTunes in my laptop—which overfilled the memory again.
I tried to go to manual sync and now I cannot see how to add or remove any music (and can't see the bar at the botto of the summary page which should tell me how the memory space is being used and what is available.

I don't know. It seeme to disappear after I check that I would manually sync.

you iphone does not work like a regular ipod, where you can drag and drop music, you must sync it with itunes. plug it into your computer, click on the icon that is labeled iphone. when you do this there is a section on the top that says music. click on that, then you can select playlists and artists, etc. then click apply. it should work then
