my mom just got a new macbook air. we are sharing files on dropbox and everytime she opens a numbers file it does an autosave and then i can't read it because i have numbers '08. is there no way to back save to an older version of numbers in lion? sure, i get that i'll need to upgrade at some point but i'd at least like access to the files she's opned and maybe need to stop sharing them with her for a while until i upgrade my software. i tried walking her through the traditional save as process and we almost made each other mad because she wasn't seeing what i expected her to see in numbers' pull-down menu.

I am thinking about buying a new macbook pro as my current macbook is approaching 7 years ol. I replace the hard drive in January to 640gb and upgraded the ram to maximum possible of 4ghz. I was running an old version of MS Office for Mac 2004 which was not great and I figured i would try using the mac versions before spending nearly £2k on a new machine. But I can't seem to buy it on the store because I apparently need to have OSx 1.7 or higher and I am running 10.6. Any ideas?

Office 2004 and Other Applications Don't Work in Lion/Mountain Lion
If you have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite, it will not work in Lion/Mountain Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion/Mountain Lion.

I have been all over that article trying to figure this issue out. The problem for me is, my app store, my wife's app store, my friend's app stores, etc. all have updated versions of GarageBand iOS and we have updated iOS to 7. I can't downgrade to iOS 6 any longer. I've asked a friend to trade me his old iPad for my newer one! And on and on to no avail.
Is there a way I can download a pre - 2.0.1 version of GarageBand iOS from a 3rd party? Can the file be placed somewhere and then onto my Mac via iTunes? I have a compatibility issue between the latest GB for iOS and Logic Pro 9 on the Mac. LP 9 will not open the latest version of GB iOS. I cannot download LP 10 bc my 2007 MP is 32-bit EFI. Anyone know a workaround for opening GB 2.0.1 iOS in LP9? I don't want the audio BTW, just the MIDI. I can find the audio by show package contents, etc. but I can't see the MIDI info in the folder. Maybe my OSX won't recognize as I could possibly do this manually? When I unpack a pre-2.0.1 GB file on the Mac, I can see both the audio and the MIDI, but not on the new GB ".band" file. Any thoughts or ideas are welcomed. Thank you!
