How to save, back up or move PS Album 2.0 catalogs without losing the captions?

For years I have saved thousands of pics in PS Album 2.0 with valuable info (plant & animal IDs, locations, etc.) typed as captions. When I try to back the pages up on CDs or copy to an external drive, I save the edited pics, but loose the captions. Now that I want to transfer the catalog to a new computer (in addition to backing it up), how can I do this and preserve the valuable and irreplacable caption, either with the pics or as a separate file?

The Adobe website does not list a PS Album forum, but by googling it, I did
find helpful info how to migrate my catalog to Photoshop w/o loosing
captions and tags. I'll try that; thanks a lot for pointing me in this
direction!

  • How do I sync my old ipod to my "new" iTunes library without losing the music I already have loaded onto my iPod?

Hi, so I got my new computer loaded up with iTunes and I want to be able to move my music from my old iPod to my new iTunes library without losing any of the music I already have placed on the iPod. How would I do this? And please I'm not too savvy with the new iTunes layout and such so if you could make this easy in layman's terms that would be great.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you purchased all songs in the iTunes Store, plug your iPod to your Mac or PC and iTunes will ask you to transfer purchases.
If you didn't purchase any song or you have non-purchased songs from the iTunes Store, you have to use an application to transfer the songs to iTunes. Here is a list of applications you can use for that > https://discussions.apple.com/message/11319208#11319208

  • How do I transfer all my iPhoto library to an external drive without losing the organising

My iMac's internal drive is almost full - mainly with 25,000 photos accumulated over the last 10 years. These are carefully sorted into Events, Smart Albums, etc., and given titles, ratings, etc.
As my iMac is becoming rather 'clunky' with little space left, I want to transfer most or all of my iPhoto library onto a newly purchased 1TB external hard drive to be used just for photos / movies.
I already have another external hard drive linked to Time Machine backing up everything on the iMac.
I followed Apple's support team's instruction to create iPhoto on the new external hard drive (My Passport) - and then drag and drop the existing iPhoto library onto it from the Master file.
It's successfully copied all 25,000 photos into the new iPhoto library on My Passport, but I'm dismayed to find that all the original events, titles, etc. are now all shuffled up and haphazard, with all titles, grading, etc. apparently gone.
Fortunately I haven't yet started to delete the photos on the original Iphoto library on my internal hard drive .................. but surely there's a way to 'back up' my iPhoto library without losing all the hard work I've put into the organising & editing ............isn't there ???
    What am I doing wrong?

I followed Apple's support team's instruction to create iPhoto on the new external hard drive (My Passport) - and then drag and drop the existing iPhoto library onto it from the Master file.
Don't know who told you that but it would be difficult to be more wrong.
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • How do I sync some one else's ipad to my itunes without losing the content already stored

My mother just purchased the iPad 2 and gave me her first one.  She has some pretty good things that she purchased and some good music that she uploaded from her computer.  I don't want to lose anything on the iPad.  Is there a way for me to add what I have on my iTunes account to her iPad without erasing it all?  I keep getting 2 options, transfer purchases or erase and sync.  I don't want to just transfer the purchases and lose the music.  I just want to add my music to what's there.  Any suggestions?

Ok, guess I might as well give it back to her then.  Why is it that I have the option of transferring her purchases?

  • How do i re-register an iphone to a new apple id without losing the content

Hi I am a long time user of the iphone 3gs and have two phones registered to my apple account, since buying my wife an I pad2 I have been trying to find out how to seperate the two phones off my account without losing my wifes phone content. Could anyone solve my problem?

Purchase made with an account remain permanently tied to that account.  You cannot split (or merge) accounts. She will have to re-purchase the items with her own account.  If we're talking a lot of items you might want to have that included in settlement papers.

  • How do I back up my movies to iCloud from my iPad?

How do I back up my movies to iCloud from my iPad?

If you mean movies you took on your iPad, which are in the camera roll, they are included in your iPad backup.  Backing up your iPad will back them up (but don't delete them after backing up and back up again or you will overwrite the backup that includes them with one that doesn't, and they will be lost).  To permanently save your camera roll photos and videos, import them to your computer as expalined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
If you mean movies purchased from the iTunes store, they are already in iCloud and can be redownloaded again later as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

  • How do I move pictures off my phone without losing the pictures permanently?  Is there a way to keep the pictures in the cloud without them being on my device?

How do I move pictures off my phone without losing the pictures permanently?  Is there a way to keep the pictures in the cloud without them being on my actual phone?  I'm concerned that the sync feature will remove the pictures from the cloud when they are deleted from my phone.
    Thanks for the help.

Can I back up iPhoto to the cloud via some apple service (iCloud)
    No
or do I need to use something else?  If so, any recommendations?
    An external hard disk:
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

  • How can I move my iPhoto Library from one Mac to another without losing the comments on the individual photos in the process?

How can I move my iPhoto Library from one Mac to another without losing the comments on the individual photos in the process? The source Macbook (OS 10.4.11 and iPhoto 6.0.6 (3.2.2.)) is with my husband in Germany, the target MacBook Pro (OS 10.8.5, iPhoto 11) is with me in Japan. Thanks for your help.

I copied the iPhoto Library to a CD and from there to the new MacBook
If you copied the library to the CD via the Finder it would be no different than the methods Terence suggested.  If you used the Share ➙ Burn menu option from inside iDVD you'll get a mini library that has to be accessed from the open library and the events/alubums copied into the destination library.  Not the same as the other methods.
The Share ➙ Burn method is no longer supported with iPhoto 9 and later.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @redrebel40 ,
I read through your post about how you are wondering how many 4x6 photos you can print from a memory card with full ink cartridges. This is a very tricky question because it does depend on the quality/DPI of the photos. I am going to link you to some more information so you can read on ink yields and cartridge information. There is really no exact amount I can answer you with due to those factors that come in to play when printing photos or even documents.
    Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers
How HP measures inkjet page yields
Select supplies for cartridge number '02' (This link  you can see the yield amount for the cartridge you are using)
I hope that offers you some help and gives you an idea about how much ink you will need.
