Is there a way to set it up so that a copy of every BBM message I send and receive gets sent to my PC or email or somewhere online so I can access them? I do not want to have to hook up my phone to my laptop to do this, however. Anyway of real-time wirelessly synching my BBM to my laptop.
No, not wirelessly without backing up to the PC.
You will need the BlackBerry Desktop Software to do that.
Download it here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Once you backup, you can export the backup file to a CSV database using free PC software MagicBerry by Menastep.

I know I can save the chat history for bbm, but where do I find the saved chats and where do I specify where to save them?
Also, I can end chat but when the contact sends me a message the entire thread returns.
How do I clear a chat? Text messages have this option.

I miss clear chat, and select all

  • Bbm chat history help

I was wondering if its possible to save the bbm chat history on the Z10. If so can anyone tell me how to. Also is it possible to view the history on the device

With regard to saving BBM chat history on the Z10:
    1. Can saved BBM chat history be searched (other than by manually scrolling through vast amounts of text)?
    2. Can saved BBM chat history be transferred, let's say, as a text file, for archiving and searching by some other means / on some other platform?
2.a. I understand that one can "email a BBM chat", but only a handful of the latest lines of a chat are incorporated into an email - not useful if one is looking to copy older excerpts?
2.b. Where is BBM chat history saved? Device? SD card? Is there a directory path that we can follow to access the history?
    3. What is the purpose of saving all of this history if it cannot be efficiently accessed / searched / archived / used?
    Thanks for any insight.

  • BBM Chat History Gone

    Hi,
I have recently bought a Blackberry Curve and have been using bbm on it, but I have noticed that some of my chat history goes away as I use it more, and I don't know how to view it. My chat history is saved on the media card, but I can't view it on the phone. Are the earlier messages gone forever? Some were very important and I cannot find them. Please reply soon.

    Hey bflogan,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
BBM™ chat history is saved on the media card and not the backup IPD file.  In BBM press the Menu>Options and scroll down to Save Chat History and choose media card.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Protect bbm chat history from being deleted

    Hi Guys
I'm still new here, plz help me, is it possible for me to stop the bbm chat history on a Blackberry from being deleted? Maybe set a password before deletion will take place?
    Plz help

    Hi Catman78,
There is no such option of setting password for deletion. You can check the below KB article for checking memory leak -
KB02843 What is the Low Memory Manager feature on the BlackBerry smartphone
Alternatively you can save chat history in your media card.  Check the below KB article -
KB18406 BlackBerry Messenger conversations are lost following an application load process of a BlackBerry smartphone

Please can somebody help me with this!

  • Recover bbm chat history

    hi
    i m using Blackberry Curve 9380.
i wish to recover my complete bbm chat history which i accidentally deleted while trying to delete a particular contact history.
let me tell you what exactly happened.
    1) opened a particular contact chat window
    2) pressed BB Menu and scrolled up to press"view chat history"
    4) pressed BB menu and that's here where you get two options a) delete contact history and b) delete complete history.
so i accidentally selected "delete complete history" which erased my entire saved chat history with all contacts.
i wish to recover and view all of them in original format, what i mean by saying original is, after recovery i wish to view them all in bbm just as we normally view chats in bbm as i also want to capture some screenshots of particular chats which are very important in nature, as they happen to be associated with my business clients.
although i have chats saved in media card  in .csv formal which is viewable in excel, but i dont wish to view them in excel format. i wish to view them in bbm.
is there a way how i can do that. is there a way to view chats in bbm that are saved as excel files. Please help as it is very important. advice me on any particular application or software available to view bbm chats as we see them bbm.
    please please help. thanks

    Hey rajkumar_bharti,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
If you deleted the history it can not be restored in BBM.  The saved chats you do have can be viewed in CSV format but it will not be viewable in BBM.
My apologies, let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • How to have the Chat history without the Exchange server?

How to have the Chat history without the Exchange server?

    Hi,
You can try Archiving server. Archiving is the storing of IM and conferencing data in an SQL backend database. This data is not instantly readable / searchable. The Lync users are not able to read it directly. The admin can export the data using Lync powershell
and then convert it into a readable format.

  • Save Jabber chat history in outlook

    Hi
We are rolling out BE6k's for customers, and one question keeps surfacing: if there is a way to save employee chat history, and search it.
I realize there are 2 sides of this... one being a way to save it, and the second is being able to search (and moderate) the chat history.
Ideally, the chat history could get saved to Outlook the same way Lync does... in a simple folder in Outlook.
As for searching chats, it's important to be able to go back and pull them up.
This is also being asked from some government agencies and smaller financial institutions as they want to be able to go through chats for compliance (and other) reasons.
Is anyone aware if this can be done natively within the Business Edition 6000/7000 series (running 10+) OR if there is a third party application that does this?
    Thanks!

The latest release of Jabber allows you to save the chat you had in html by enabling EnableSaveChatToFile
But yes, IM&P requires a separate server in which to hold all the messages that go thru the server, this is for management purposes, not really meant for users.
Persistent chat will hold all the messages, but this also requires a separate DB server to hold them.
You're free to use any other XMPP client you prefer which has this capabilities on the client side.

  • How to make previous chat history visible in new window

    Hi people,
Recent Windows convert here. I am a loyal user of Trillian, and one of the things I love about Trillian is that when a new chat window comes up, the log from the previous conversation is visible within it.
So, to illustrate, it's a bit frustrating to have a conversation like this:
Me: Hey Mike, do you know how Sally is doing?
Mike: I am away from my computer
I log off or go away. Then a few hours later,
    Mike: She hurt her foot
    Me: Who hurt her foot?
You get my drift - if new windows had a little history in them, that'd be great. Now, I know how to save chat history, and where it is saved. What I'm wishing for is that it were right there inside the new window with some kind of divider to set the time/context (even a button to view it would be a step in the right direction). I'm guessing there may be an add-on for this, but my Apple Discussion and Google searches have been fruitless.
    Any ideas? Thanks all.
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    HI ZigZagLens,
Welcome To The Apple Discussion Pages.
I only know of a partial solution to this.
If I have a Chat open and the other end person goes offline when they come back my end uses the same window if I still have it open.
There is no way to reopen a close chat window AND add fresh text chat to it.
If you wanted this it would be a feature request.
I could see that it could be done two ways.
    1) The Recents item in iChat itself could list the last few saved chats
    2) An iChat Recents item could be added to the Blue Apple Recents item.
At present iChat open saved chats are added to the Documents list if they are reopened, so it will probably need both.
It is around this area that you might find a utility.

  • HT1414 How do I email chat history in whatsapp?

Hi all, I have noticed there is a function of email chat history in whatsapp and now I have urgent need for saving the conversation. However, no matter how many times i tried to send it from my phone, there's nothing in my email. Please help! Thanks so much!

Ask whatsapp support. That's not an Apple product.

  • It saves the chat history incase you sign in from ...

whether you clear your chat history on your phone by 'clear data' but it remain saved on other's device, how to overcome this error.

it would be possible for apple to create a limited iTunes Store which can be accessible from any of the 171 countries not currently able to access the full store (the UN currently has 192 countries listed). This would allow us poor unfortunates to use the full functionality of iTunes, without being able to buy music.
    Hello, Aziz;
There are many other sources for downloading album art into iTunes - search the web for "iTunes album art" and you'll find a number of reference.
And obtaining the artist and track information for CDs you import yourself doesn't come from the iTunes Music Store, it comes from GraceNote's CDDB database.
So I for one don't see much purpose in an iTunes Music Store lacking the tracks and videos.
    Regards.

  • How to disable automatic chat history download?

I use Skype constantly and this "feature" is really, really annoying. Let's say I've been chatting the whole day on my computer. I go out, launch Skype on my phone and the app starts downloading all those hundreds of messages automatically. There's no way to stop it. The iPhone app usually crashes at least five times because of this.
Please fix it. Add a "download chat history" button or something like that. The way it works now, it is simply unacceptable.

IIf connected to a wifi network and plugged into a charger, your iPad will automatically try and update itself. Sadly, I am unaware of a way to prevent this In the settings menu. But you can turn the wifi off while recharging to stop it. Not a real solution, but perhaps someone else will have a more practical idea Of what to do.

    Hey Lettybetty68,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To resolve this issue with your BlackBerry® Messenger chat history for this contact, try deleting the contact and then re-add the contact and test with new messages.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • How can I import Chat history into the Messages.app?

Okay so this is what I've done so far: I've freshly reinstalled Mac OS X 10.8.1 on my Mac and I've already copied the Messages Folder located in User/Library/Application Support, to the new one.
The idea is to access all this history data in the Messages.app, but so far I haven't been lucky.
When I'm chatting with people, the recent activity will be shown in the left column of the app but nothing from the past shows up, yet.
Is there some way to import all the chats into Messages, so that I can see them all in a nice way instead of quick-looking them in the Finder?

    Hi,
The "sync" between and iPhone (or other iOS device) and a Mac only works from the time both devices have the same details.
Effectively this is the time that the iPhone has the Apple ID added to it's settings and the pop ups that appear on the Mac about the iPhone's details are accepted.
The Sync  is then "Display on all devices" only.
There is no catch up on existing threads on either device on the other.
If you delete an iMessages or a conversation on one device the other is unaffected.
