How to save bookmark preferences

I am working with different word document, for each of them different heading styles are used so every time I manually adjust the bookmark settings before exporting to PDF.
Is there any way I can save bookmark settings in a preset or template and apply the corresponding template to the document I work on? Thanks.

Sheekutti,
Steve is exactly right, you can simply extend the Base Customization class and setup your own type of customization.
In the PDK January, there are articles similiar to the Servlet implementation that show you how to subclass the BaseCustomization class to add user customization for the portlet greeting. The articles show you one way of doing this and may help you in creating your own type of customization object.
PDK January should be available within a few days on OTN and we will make an announcement here on the Discussion forum when it is available.
Thanks,
Sue

  • [PS-CS5] how to save the preference of dialog?

    Hi All,
    can we save the preferences of a dialog compnonent like radio botton, checkbox etc like we do in illustrator using AIPreferenceSuite?
    is  there any suite in Ps Sdk which can do so?
    plz suggest.
    thanks
    D.A

    In PIActions.h is the PSDescriptorRegistryProcs which you can use with the PSActionDescriptorProcs to place your parameters into a PIActionDescriptor and then put that descriptor into the Photoshop registry. (This is not the windows registry.) You will need to acquire those suites.

    I believe what the original poster wants to do is preserve the bookmarks of a Word file into the interactive bookmarks feature of the PDF specification, so that the bookmarks appear as a clickable linked table of contents when that Word file is converted to PDF. You see this in every ebook or iBook. This is easy to do when converting Word to PDF in Microsoft Windows, but I am not sure it is possible from Mac Word because everybody complains about it on the Mac side.
    Converting bookmarks to a clickable PDF TOC is easy to do in other software on the Mac, like InDesign. Apple Pages might do it too, but I'm not sure.

  • How do I save bookmark in new firefox release?

    The new firefox release does not seem to have capability to save bookmarks to a file. The instructions provided in support seem applicable to older versions. I have saved bookmarks to a file many times before in prior releases.

    What kind of bookmarks backup do you want to create?
    You can still do this in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) just like in previous versions.
    You can find Show All Bookmarks to open the Library in the drop-down list that opens if you click the Bookmarks Menu button that is positioned next to the star button on the Navigation Toolbar.
    Firefox 29 and later versions have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in Firefox 28 and older versions.
    *With the Australis interface the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three bar Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar<br>A consequence of this new menu button is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
    *There is a star like button to the right end of the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu
    *It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu on the toolbars to have menus like the the Bookmarks menu

  • How do I save library preferences?

    This should be simple but I cannot make it happen.  When I upgraded last night to the new version of iTunes, "podcasts" was unchecked as a category to display in my library.  I can re-check the box, but the preferences/general dialog box doesn't have an option to save my changes--and the changes aren't saved if I close the box.  How do I save these preferences?

    Thanks..... However, I cannot get Firefox to come up, so I cannot find the folder that has the info.

    The built-in Firefox Sync service allows you to store your settings, including bookmarks, on a Mozilla server. This isn't accessible as a file like Google Drive; it can only be used by connecting another copy of Firefox to your Sync account. You can read more about this here: [[How do I set up Firefox Sync?]] (I haven't tried it myself since it changed recently.)
    The cross-browser Xmarks service is more focused: it just does bookmarks. http://www.xmarks.com/ (I've never tried this one either)
    If you prefer working with files and you have a Dropbox or similar account, you could in theory back up your Firefox profile folder, or more particularly, the bookmarkbackups subfolder. I haven't tried that myself. To find the folder:
    Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * Help menu > Troubleshooting Information
    In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button
    A window should launch showing your currently active settings files. The bookmarkbackups folder should contain dated .json files which can be used to restore your bookmarks to another copy of Firefox.
    Alternately, someone might have created an add-on for saving Firefox bookmarks to the cloud another way, but I haven't heard of one.

  • How to make Grid command or save grid preferences

    Hi there,
    long time user of macromedia / adobe suite with high use of fireworks
    Have finally got around to installing CS4, and its all very nice, but having trouble setting up the grid as a command.
    Previously in CS3, one could set the grid size via the drop down. But now one has to go to preferences to change the grid size.
    I used to use a command to change the grid size to cut down on workflow in CS3, but now I can't save the command steps in CS4 as they don't appear in the history panel.
    Anyone know how to save a command or change the preferences so that I can define something other than the standard (and painful) 36x36 grid? I only want a 10x10 grid *sigh.
    Thanks
    Dave

    Dave,
    (Sorry about the previous post - I would upload the command directly, but the forums seem to be having some problems, and I get an error every time I try to upload a file.)
    Here is a command to create a 10x10 grid.  Copy the following four lines of code and put them in a simple text file, save it, then rename it something like 10x10_grid.jsf.  It needs to have the .jsf file extension for Fireworks to understand it.
    fw.getDocumentDOM().setGridSize({x:10, y:10});
    fw.getDocumentDOM().setGridColor("#cccccc");
    fw.getDocumentDOM().setShowGrid(true);
    fw.getDocumentDOM().setSnapToGrid(true);
    Put the file in the Commands folder of your personal Fireworks settings. On a Windows XP PC this should be something like:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\Commands
    The next time you start Fireworks it will appear in the bottom section of the Commands list from the main menu.  You can edit each line of the command to change the grid size, grid color, and whether or not to show the grid and use snap to grid.
    Hope this helps.

    I understand something else, that your question is not about 'no advance' for all slides (for which you could use the approach of TLCMediaDesign) but that you are talking about a Menu slide. You have already several interactive objects on that slide, right? What is their goal? Is there any reason why you are not using their possiblity to pause the slide? Maybe post a screenshot of the slide with the timeline when you explain the goal of those interactive objects.
