How to save Color Correction Setting as a file?

I'm new to premiere pro cs6. Is it possible to save a color correction setting as a file? So I wont have to manually adjust every Video file I insert to the timeline to match the previous. Help Please. Thanks.

To expand on Jim's comment, as this is a semi "non-destructive" editor, meaning the things you "do" to a clip don't actually change that clip on the hard-drive but are stored in the project files for that clip until you export the project ... this program is built around storing the details of the effects and then applying them in real-time to footage as you edit it.
So use that capability. Build up your modifications of the original footage in layers and that way you can turn on/off various parts of your "looks" as you want and as it makes it easier to work. Planning out the layers of effects/changes is a good part of mastering the tools available in PrPro.

How to save passwords. Setting already selected but still does not save. Web site does allow password saving.

Could you try a fake username and password on another site, and see if you can save there? You can use this website's login form at [https://support.mozilla.com/tiki-login.php] to test.
Let me know the result of doing this, and whether any password-related errors appear in Tools->Error Console

  • Is there a way to save a specific set of open files?

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to save a specific set of open files in Flash so that when you close the app and then reopen it, you would either see the files that were open when you closed Flash or at least have the option to select it and it woud then open those files in the order that you left them.
Is that an option by any chance?
With all my class files open at one time, I hate having to reload them into the order that makes sense to me every time I launch Flash.
I was looking into the Projects panel which seems like it's in the direction of what I would like but I can't seem to find anwhere that saves open files.
Thanks in advance for any insight into this!
    Cole

I don't believe this is possible with Flash - I've used Flash for a long time, and certain learn new things all the time! But Flash only has a "memory" of recently open files, and doesn't automatically open them for you.
But, for class files, you're in luck. There's a 3rd party AS editor, FlashDevelop, that does EXACTLY that. When you launch it, it auto opens the multiple AS files you ahd open from the previous day/session. FlashDevelop is a wonderful tool to use for editing your AS (and is quicker than Flash, and does custom class introspection, where it auto-completes your own class properties & methods, as well as many other developer-friendly features).

Here is a screen grab of what Flash Develop lloks liek for me when I open it (showing multiple class files opened yesterday, without me having to open them today)

  • How to best color correct image

    Hi,
I earlier asked a question whereas I was having problems with color consistency from PS to ID. After resolving that I've run into another issue:
In trying to figure out a way to put an image in ID in a specific set of red cmyk numbers. I've come up with two solutions, but each has a set of problems. Both are CMYK.
The image on the left is a flattened black and red image (halftone) tif from Photoshop (the filter used flattens it). IT looks pretty god but If I try to adjust it with the correct red numbers, the black isn't neutral and gets a color cast, or I'm afraid it will in the printing process.
The one on the right is a black and transparent tif from Photoshop that has been place over a red background (already in ID). Why does this 2nd one appear to be greyed?
(I think I need to learn to fine-tune the color correction on the left one, but not sure which controls to use).
    Thoughts?
No sooner did I post this, I read about someone else talking earlier about using the Multiply effect ( I didn't realize you could do this in ID), I tried it  and got a more integrated image which is what I wanted. Neat. Now, are there any printing repercussions during the printing process with this effect that I need to worry about, or WYSIWYG? ( I still need to tweak the contrast I know, but at least the red is right.)

I just wrote a huge, even more convoluted post trying to answer your questions, which I'll save for later because it may be moot. I'm thinking aloud here to try to clarify:
We'er talking about 2 issues here, the greyness of the blacks and how they look on the surface and the color cast that may occur, is that right?
Let me say that I initially used a 3rd party filter called "Ghost" (can only be used on RGB images). I use it on B&W images as well as color. That takes out all white information and leaves all transparency in various densities. Only a solid black has no transparency. Then I converted to Robin's SWOP Heavy. She is using black & white photos, not transparent images.
    Then came along your process.
I took those images that were over cream (in Robin's workflow...I didn't see anything wrong with these images intially), then put them over red and sure enough got that greyed-out look, which is only noticable over red, but if I use them may show up in print that way, which leads me to believe I need to use your process, as the quality of the blacks needs to be consistant.
Left is Robin's profile, right side is with "Multiply" applied. Which leads me to believe that I need to re-do all my images as per your ideas. I thought black would be black. Guess not.  I'm not sure if the end result of using your process is the same as using multiply or not but it looks the same and is consistant.
All that being said, what again should be my images profiles and ID file be?
this is what they are, ..and I thought they were Blurb's but I screwed something up there too...
Images..don't remember If I need to convert!!? I think so then what's the point? UGH:

  • Lightroom 4 won't save color correction to .R3D file

Really didn't have problems until export. I'm amazed with how fast Lightroom plays playback on .r3d files. Anways after all the color correctrion is done I try to export the file to its original format (r3d) but upon playing the file in Red Cine-X, non of the color corrections I made are saved. It's as if I didn't edit the file at all. However if I choose to save the file as a H264 and play the file, all my corrections are saved. So it only doesn't work if I choose to export my file as the original R3d format. Anyone know whats wrong or how to solve this?

    Hi mikey,
LR never writes to original files, and it does not do sidecars for videos.
So in order to view your LR adjustments outside LR you need to use a format which LR can write to, like H264.

  • Where does Lightroom save color correction info?

I'm having a problem with Lightroom in the way it saves the color correction information attached to a raw file.
I'm using raw files off of an external hard drive, color correcting them and then saving that whole folder to my internal hard drive.
The problem is that after I disconnect the external hard drive and import the folder from my internal hard drive, none of the file conversions I just made are showing. This is extreamly frustrating and time consuming as I'm adjusting about 1000 files at a time.
    Why is this?
The external drive is my client's so I have to find a way to get the color corrected raw files on both drives.
Thanks to anyone that can help

    Here is my work flow:
Working on 1 computer in 1 version of Lightroom that is set up to save the Catalog on my internal hard drive.
I attach client's external drive and use the Lightroom Import dialog to add files to catalog without moving (they stay on the external and I edit them there).
Working in Lightroom I make the adjustments to the CR2 files that have stayed on the external drive.
"At the end select all the images and save metadata to file."  I believe I have missed this step. I though Lightroom did this automaticly.
    Is this my problem?
After making the adjustments I selected all of the files from the external and copied them to my internal drive, however I did this outside of Lightroom.
This may have been a problem also.
If my catalog has been stored on my internal drive the whole time why did the developing information not get saved to it?
"You can also do this by exporting a catalog file from the  source machine to the external disk and then importing
this  catalog into the target machine."
Using this technique in the future could I do all of this?
    1. edit the files directly on the external drive
    2. save the metadata to the files
    3. export the files (though lightroom) onto my internal hard drive
    4. have the raw files on my internal hard drive with the saved development made to them and be able to open them in lightroom and see them adjusted
    5. have the raw files on my client's external hard drive with the saved development  made to them and be able to open them in lightroom on another computer and see them adjusted
Thanks again for all of your help!

  • HELP! How do i color correct an area of a video?

    Hey
Im new to after effects cs4. I made a time lapse video of the sky. However, the sky is to bright and you can't really see the clouds very well. I would like to change the 'levels' of the sky, but not the buildings at the bottom of the video. So only half of the video will have colour correction on it. How do i do this???? Thanks!

    The gist is simple:
    Create an adjustment layer.
Draw a mask on the adjustment layer.
Apply the color-correction effect to the adjustment layer.
The devil is in the details. For example, if you need to animate the mask, you may have some rotoscoping to do.
Here's a video that shows how to do this in a case where the item to be color-corrected is moving:

This is actually a very basic compositing question, so I'm going to strongly recommend that you begin at the beginning and work your way through the getting-started learning materials.

  • Save Color Label Set with Collection

I'd like to be able to save a Color Label Set with a Collection. I'm getting ready to process a bunch of images and I have two destinations for them: a web site slide show, and Flickr. I want to do a slideshow of a small subset of images, but I want to post to Flickr all photos with a rating of 3 or greater.
I'd like to be able to set up a specific color label set with a color for "slideshow". But, I probably wouldn't use it all the time. It would be great if that specific color label set could be saved with a Collection of all these photos I'm going to work on. That way when I come back in a year and see green photos I get the right text instead of whatever color label set I'm currently using.
Sure, I can manage this by using some naming convention for the color labels, but it just seems like a natural fit for something that should be able to be specific to a Collection.
    Pete

Press J to toggle the grid view styel. Only two modes show the color label squares.
It could also be that you have turned of grid view extras. You can find the option to turn these on in the menu View - Grid View Style.
It could also be that you have changed the option to show the labels Library View Options.
    (Press Command+J to access).
Look that one of the fields under Compact Cell Extras contains the option Label.

  • 6500 classic: how to save "White balance" setting ...

Hello, when I activate the camera, the image looks like filled with blue, so I need to go to camera settings, click "White balance", and select "Daylight" instead of "Automatic" - now the picture will be perfect. But next time when I activate the camera, I should repeat this step again.
How to save "White balance" settings to "Daylight" forever?

    Unfortunately it's not possible.
The setting will only be effective for one session. Once you close the camera application they will revert to default.

  • What color correction setting is best

    I just bought the Canon Pixma IP4300. I'm using a lot of ink trying to figure this out, so I thought I'd ask in case there was a default. In Advanced>Color Options>Color Correction, the choices are;
    1) Driver matching
    2) ColorSync
    3) None
Is one of those generally better to use
Also, is it generally better to print from Photoshop(Elements 4) vs iPhoto or Preview?

choosing colorsync over adobe color management is not a popular choice
The only place I chose ColorSync is in OS X print dialog/color options/color correction. I have 3 options to choose; Driver matching, ColorSync, None. Which of the other 2 would I choose if I wanted to maintain Adobe Color Management? Also by Adobe Color Management, I assume what you mean are the adjustments I made in PSE. Is that right.
Have you tried using printer color management
Do you mean not using PS at all & just using the Color Options from the OS X print Dialog. If that's what you mean, I don't like using that because the adjustments are made on a generic OS X provided picture. You can't tell what the adjustments are doing to your photo until you choose Preview. If you don't like what you see, canceling causes you to start from the beginning.
keeping an sRGB image flow if that's what your originals are?
Most of the photos from my Canon SD 700IS are RGB. The others are scanned older photos. I'm embarrassed to say I'm not familiar with an sRGB image work flow
Barbara, To tell you the truth, if I could get 2 things down to a general rule of thumb it would be helpful. 1) In PSE/Print/Color Management, what to save the printer profile to (Same as source?) & 2) In OS X print dialog/color correction, what to save it as, out of my 3 options.
Feel free to tell me when you've run out of answers to all my questions, as I have many!

  • PSE 11 - How disable Save in Version Set

How can I default the Save in Version Set checkbox to unchecked so I do not have to remember to uncheck it when I save. I _never_ want to create a version set. Thanks.

I don't think you have an option to disable "save in version set".

  • How to save/maintain shuffle setting

Not sure if this is a "feature" or a bug, but if a playlist is set to 'shuffle' and I go and listen to a podcast, when I go back to the initial playlist, shuffle is no longer on. I've replicated this numerous times, and a buddy of mine did the same on his iPhone 3GS -- which leads me to believe it is a part of the software and not unique to my iPod.
Is there any way to get it to keep its playlist settings? My old iPod (circa 2004) actually kept shuffle on until I turned it off regardless of what folder/playlist I was in, but my new one ... not so much.

I know how to turn shuffle on, that wasn't the question. My question was/is how do I save the shuffle setting with respect to a playlist, because every time I play a podcast and go back to the playlist, shuffle is turned off. Since I listen to my iPod in the car (and the iPod is in the glove box), the only way to turn shuffle back on is to pull over, which is a PITA.
