How to save documents on my iPad

How to save documents on my iPad

If you are asking how you save Word or Excel files - or maybe even PDF files - you need to have an app on the Pad in which you can save them. Apps like Documents to Go and Quick Office Pro are compatible with the full suite of MS office Apps and Apple has Pages (Word) Numbers (Excel) and Keynote (Power Point) that will work with the office apps.
Pdf files can be saved in apps like iBooks and Adobe Reader and others with even more functionality such as GoodReader and Save 2 PDF.
I think that what Chris meant is that the files are saved automatically in the app after you create them or move them into the app from email attachments. You can tap on an attachment and use Open In and whatever compatible app you have on the iPad will appear in a window from which you can select to open and save that app.

  • How to store documents in my ipad

I received few word documents via gmail.
How to save those documents to my ipad?
and am unable to attach documnet to my mail..
    Kindly advice.

If you want to store word documents (or any other file/document) on the iPad then you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports word documents - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
If you want to be able to edit (and create) word documents then the options include Apple's Pages app and from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go and QuickOffice Pro HD. If you just want to store them then there are apps such as GoodReader. You can use the Mail app's 'open in' function to copy/store attachments into other apps.
To then attach a document to an email you need to start in the app that contains the document and use that app's functionality (if it has it) to select and attach the document to an email.

  • I want to save several written reports for my job on a daily basis on my iPad from my computer is there an app or anyway to do this? Organize, rename and save documents to my iPad?

I scan several reports on a daily basis to my computer I wanted to know is there any app or anyway I can save these documents to my iPad and make sure they are backed up? Also I would like to organize them by name and date is there an app out there that can do this or anyway? I work in a court house with several reports on a daily basis any help please?

I just have the normal app and have had no issue with it. I think the only bug I've heard of is sometimes people start a new document and the Docs to Go will not acknowledge the input of a wifi keyboard until you type a few characters on the on screen keypad, but that may have been fixed.
I find documents easy to find. I have two main folders on my iPad, the desktop folder which has my 'to be kept synced' documents and then another folder with the documents i've put on it permanently. It lists them alphabetically  so my only issue finding things is scrollling down 300+ documents.
One thing that I think the premium app has is the ability to access documents via  the internet.
How I do it is, I have my document in the sync folder. I open up the docs to go desktop app, open up docs to go on the iPad, tap the sync button and the documents sync...so you do have to have wifi. not sure if that's an issue or not. It's never taken me more than a few seconds to sync.
I do konw that you can buy the basic version and upgrade for the cost difference, so you can always experiment and upgrade if necessary.

  • Is there anyway you can save documents on the ipad to the desktop?

Is there anyway you can save documents from your mail on the ipad to its desktop or folders?

    Hello Peyto123,
It is possible however to upload document to and from your ipad/iphone via a tool called "phone drive". (https://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/id431033044?mt=8)
When you have this tool installed, and the transfer option enabled in the app, you can up- and download via an internet browser session from you computer/mac to the ipad/iphone. Very usefull tool, i use it for all kind of documents and photos.

  • How to print documents from an iPad?

I have an IPad 2 and a Canon Pixma 8120 printer. The printer is wireless, but it does not support air print (or whatever it is called).  Is there a way to print documents that I have on Pages, etc.  Canon offers something for printing pictures, but I can't figure out how to print documents.

Check the App Store for such an app that can print.

  • How to save document with pixel aspect correction?

I have a document which has has a non-square pixel ratio thus requires pixel aspect ratio correction to be turned on to view the image correctly.
I want to save it as a JPEG for use online however I cant find an option anywhere to make the saved file have the corrected aspect ratio.
Essentially when I save the file as a jpeg (or any end format) the image is squished. How can I save the file not squished? (ie. burn in the ratio correction)

As I still work with a lot of Images, being used in SD Video, where non-square pixels are the rule.
I Save_As PSD, and Import those adjusted PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) Images. However, that does not work in your case. I have never used JPEG, but wonder if that format is fully supportive of non-square pixels - never needed JPEG, so have never investigated.
As Web display is on a computer, with square pixels, why the use of non-square pixels for the Web? [Just curious]
Good luck, and wish that I had more to offer, perhaps PNG?

  • How to move documents from one iPad to another iPad?

I have a new iPad and want to move my documents. Is there a quick way to do this?

    Easiest method:
If you're backing up your old iPad to either iCloud or to iTunes on your computer, restore to your new iPad.
    Alternative methods:
Copy PDFs to Dropbox or Acrobat.com with the old iPad, and copy off using the same services on your new iPad.

  • How can i save and download word documents on my ipad without the pages app

Need to know how to save documents on my ipad so i can share the same version of documents between my computer and my ipad on the same network. I do not have the pages app. and Most of the documents are either pdfs of word docs. so need to be able to save them on ipad and retrieve them when i am on the move. Pls help?

You have to have an app on the iPad that is compatible with the particular file type that you want to save, edit or share. You can look at any of the word processing apps - Pages is one, Documents to Go, Quick Office Pro - but you have to have one like that in order to save and edit Word files.
With pdf files - iBooks will work to save them - but that's all. Other apps like GoodReader will let you annotate them.
You have to decide which app will serve your needs best and them download them in order to save, edit and share those file types.

  • How can i open a ppt files or a work document on my ipad and save it?

I have been opening ppt or .doc from school on safari, but i don't know how to save it in my ipad so i don't have to go back online eveytime for those documents. So far i have been only able to save pdf in ibooks.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks

You first need one or more apps on your iPad that support word and/or powerpoint documents - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version which allows you to create and edit Powerpoint docs) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

  • How does Pages save documents?

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to write documents (nothing fancy, just notes from various meetings) and store them in different files. The Notes app that comes with the iPad would be fine if it came with a way of organizing and storing the notes that are written - I cant seem to find an app that has a filing system for documents. Pages looks the most promising but I can't find any info on how it saves documents.
    Thanks
    Kate

Presently Pages only has a flat filing system, no subfolders. There are many apps that can do what you want. I have Doc 2(squared) HD. There are other to like Documents To Go.
