hi, i started using photoshop cs6 extended yesterday. i have no problem on tools but i have problem on saving my files in photoshop cs6 extended. i've tried to save my files like being shown in tutorials but when i click on the 'save' or 'save as' button, nothing appear on my screen. i've searching the tutorials on youtube but i didn't find the solution to my problem.please, do help me.

Saving files in Photoshop CS6 Extended (Mac)

I just got Photoshop CS6 Extended (Mac) and am unable to save files (eg .psd) as a .jpg -- if I select the JPEG option, although that is ticked, it appears in the filename above as .gif or .eps WHY?? Also, why do I have to select 'Enable' and scroll down a huge list to 'All Readable Documents' before I can open, say, a JPEG? I've never had to do this in previous versions (and I've been using PS since v.2 -- not CS2 -- !) I am in RGB and 8-bit and the images are flattened. This is most frustrating. . .

Restoring/trashing the Preferences can alleviate some unexplainable Photoshop problems, but make sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved before performing that routine.

You can do licensed install on two systems same platform(Win or Mac). This depends for which platform you bought the SN for.

No local help files for Photoshop CS6 extended

Hi
I wish to use local help files for Photoshop CS6 but only online support is available. Local files are not listed under the Adobe Help preferences. The option to search only local rather than online help is greyed out. I found and downloaded a PDF with of the help files but don't know where to install it or if this is possible. I have CS 5 Creative Suite and this works fine giving the option of local or online help when accessed.
Is there a way to install and use local help files in photoshop CS6?

Hi and thanks for directing me to that article, it should have done the trick. I am using mac mountain lion 10.8.5.
The help system has always operated oddly - I have Photoshop cs6 but also the cs5 master suite installed. CS5 works fine but Photoshop cs6 only gives the option for online help and then directs me to the CC site. There is no simple listing for just Photoshop help in the help menu - presumably as it is not seeing it installed
I tried various configurations in the article, having to set up the folders they suggested. In my case, in a variety of alternative places as I have a boot up volume with the documents folder moved onto a RAID array so the Shared folder is not in the documents folder but in Users on the boot drive. So - confusing - but tried all the likely candidates and folder configurations/locations while following the instructions as closely as possible. Even tried an documents folder alias to redirect the program to the alternative path way.
At least now I have the PDFs and can look through them outside the adobe interface. The problem with the community site being questions regarding photoshop alone, yield answers for all sort of other issues and programs.

This randomly started happening. Every time I try to add an effect to a new file, or edit an effect on an existing file, I get this error...

Did you reset your Preferences and Photoshop tools. Photoshop Preferences are not removed with an un-install and an Install does not install preferences. Preferences are created for a user id when a user ID start Photoshop and there are no preferences for the user ID.

Where can I find the file for Photoshop CS6 Extended?

I bought this one earlier this year, and need to move to a new computer, but don't have the file. Where is it located?

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Unable to open Canon 7D CR2 raw files in Photoshop CS6

Hi Folks,
I have been trying to open Canon 7D CR2 raw files in Photoshop CS6 (Extended) (Windows 8.1) but I'm always getting the error "Could not complete your request because the file format module cannot parse your file".
I installed the Camera Raw plugin ver 8.8.0.397 today. Did this initially by downloading and running the CameraRaw_8_8.zip available here Camera Raw plug-in installer. Still got the error.
Went and did the Check Updates in Photoshop and updated the Camera Raw (and other components) but STILL cannot open the CR2 files.
I can see the thumbnails in Bridge but when I double click to open them in Photoshop, same error.
Cannot seem to get past the "Could not complete your request..." error.
Any ideas?

Downgrade «Photoshop CS6 Extended» to just «Photoshop CS6», it's standard version?

recently I've replaced my MacBook Pro 17" (Mid 2010) with new Retina (15" / Early 2013) and after I've installed Adobe Photoshop it appears to be Extended version instead of Standart. And I want my standart version back. I didn't use 3D features and I'm okay with standard version. I'm running OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3) if it useful information.
So the question is: How do I downgrade my Photoshop CS6 «Extended» to «Standard» version?
What I've tried:
1. Reinstall application. No changes, still Extended version.
2. Install on differenct computer same install package. I've tried to run this on my Mac Pro — unsuccessful.
3. Reinstall application on «clean» OS X version on my previous MacBook Pro (17") — everything is okay. Standard version running as it does before.
Please help me solve this little issue, because Google left me without answers.

Simple.
It's just one and the same application, just one binary. What determines whether you get the Extended features or not is your serial number.
If you're on a subscription basis, it will always be the Extended version.
If you're using the trial version, it will be Extended. When you input a Standard serial number after you purchase it, it will become Standard.
If you've already put in your serial number and registered the applicaton and still see the Extended features, it means you paid for the Extended version.

How do I save an install file for Photoshop CS6

I need to get an install file for Photoshop CS6 (not CR) that I can use on a Windows PC that, due to security reasons, does
not have access to the internet. In the past I have been able to save the install file for Photoshop and/or Lightroom on my internet connected PC and then move it to the the target PC on a thumb drive or CD. But now with the CC and the new "Adobe Installer" I can't seem to see how to capture the install file.
Please let me know how to do this.

How to Force Enable 3D Menu Contents in PhotoShop CS6 Extended

Hello I have a weird problem with photoshop cs6 extended
I bought my new laptop HP Pavilion dv6 6170ee which has 2 graphics card 1 is the intel one and the other is the AMD one ( High Performance )
As you can see from the screen shot above my drivers are installed and updated anyway the 3D option in CS6 was working good and it's content was enabled and ready to use , but suddeny after restarting my pc I started cs6 and found out that the contents at 3D Menu is disabled I went for my AMD graphics card control center and made sure that photoshop is running on the ( High Performance ) GPU and here is the screen shot that proffs it
and then I opened photoshop again , choosen Edit , Performace and found that it's still using the Intel Grapics Card ? here is the screen shot
and I have done all what i can do to make the 3D menu content enabled again system restore ( failed ) , Reinstalling windows + Drivers + stuff again ( same problem happpend again after restarting my computer ) and also trying resseting my gpu settings to factory default settings ) all of these was fail , please is there a way to force start photo shop like command line ..etc .

Photoshop CS6 extended creates 65,000+ tmp files

Can anyone help with a tmp file problem? After the last update for Photoshop CS6 extended, I get 65,000+ .tmp files (all 0k size) each time that I save a jpg or targa file. It doesn't matter if I save to the local drive or a network drive. It also takes almost 20 minutes for the save to finish. It then takes 15-20 minutes to delete all of them. Images are 1.5-2mb files.
System is running Windows 7 64bit pro with 4gb of ram. Local disk is 500 gb 7200 speed with 45% free. Servers are both Dell PowerEdge with two separate Raid 5 each server with 4 1tb 7200 speed drives per raid. Servers have two Intel Zeon processors and dual gigabit network cards.

Monitor the file I/O with tools like Sysinternals' System Monitor and check what's causing the problem. Could be a mundane permissions problem with your temporary folders or otehr resource problem.
