How to save scheduled Workbook output in a specified location on some server ?

Hi !
We have a requirement in which User wants to see output of the workbook in some specific shared location.
We know how to schedule the workbook , but seems like there is no option of saving the output in some location other than the default one. Am I wrong ?
Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated. It is kind of urgent.

I have'nt got an answer yet. I dont know if our concern is the same, mine is the following :
A scheduled report is mostly intended to fasten the reading of data by running the SQL with it's joins & aggreagation by night for instance. I scheduled a workbook which agregates hundreds of thousands of rows into about thirty rows. The report run correctly by night and I find it with "ready" status in the morning. But when I try to open the result, I can see Discoverer desktop fetching 100,000 then 200,000 rows for more than hours.
Are'nt the result data stored somewhere ? What does mean a schedule if it is rerun each time you want to open your workbook. I think I've got a wrong setting somewhere. Could anybody help ?

How to save PDF file in a particular shared location

Hi All,
I am trying to save generated PDF file in a particular location like C:/Documents and Settings/FolderName/My Documents/test.png.
But Its givinhg following error.
[ERROR] [Image_Saver_0]ImageSaver: Access to the file path /C:/Documents and Settings/FolderName/My Documents/test.png is not allowed .
I am Using Image Saver action block.
To this passing PDF_Document output as Input to "Encoded image" of Image saver action block.
passing path as above in "Path" of Image saver action block.
MII version :14.0 SP4.
Can anybody suggest me how to give path to store PDF files in a particular location.

I am trying to save currently on my local machine.
I also tried as suggested by Raman ,but its not working.
If I am trying to save in server machine, I am getting different error like
[ERROR] [Image_Saver_0]ImageSaver: \\01hw601622\temporaryshare\Temp\test.png (Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password) Exception: [\\01hw601622\temporaryshare\Temp\test.png (Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password)] ".
Folder name "Temp" is already created in this machine.
Path I am giving like "\\01hw601622\temporaryshare\Temp\test.png" in my Image saver action block.
My transaction is like this.
Kindly suggest me if I am wrong.

Way to save adobe interactive form onto any common location in the server

Hi,
I have a couple of requirements to implement and wanted to have a clear idea on how these can be implemented and time it will take.
The requirements are: I will be developing an application using NWDS which will have interactive form in it and once this form is filled online and clicked on the submit button the form should get stored in a common location in server so that it can be retreved and editted later on.
And during the click of submit button the whole form also should get posted to HELPDESK at the same time via mail.
Now is there by any chance i can send the whole form to a particular mail id ? and can i save the form in a common destination for future access ?

see source code of the onActionsubmit method in the controller implementation to save the pdf file in a particular location.
In the same way you can write some custom source code in onActionsubmit to send a mail. You can get the source code in any one of the standard java sites available.

How to save image using an image object in servlet on web server

I'll be very thankful to anyone who helps me in this matter.
i developed an applet which draws on a buffered image.
now i want to save this buffered image as a jpg image on the web server.
i know i have to use servlets or jsp for this.
but i want to use servlet for specific reasons.
can anyone plz provide me the code for taking an image object from an applet and saving it thru servlet.
i need this solution as soon as possible.

Take a look around for URLConnection, and Applet to Servlet communication (also check the [url http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jsp?forum=33]Servlet forum).
Basic concepts will be to open a URLConnection to the URL mapped on your server for the servlet, then send the image, byte by byte, to the servlet, then ask for a reply from the servlet.
Once asked for a reply the servlet will need to take the image sent to it (hopefully via an HTTP post) and copy it to a location on disk. (You could have a parameter to the request that tells you want to name the file...)
As for the converting buffered image to JPEG, I haven't done this before, but I know others have. You can look around (more likely to find it in the [url http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jsp?forum=31]Java Programing[ul] forum) for the code needed.

Hi,
Well you can use windows task manager or another third party scheduler to run Discoverer exports on a windows workstation. You can search this site for information on how to do this.
You can then use a unix command to send the details of the workbook to the workstation. One way to do this would be for the script running on the windows workstation to obtain the list of workbooks, worksheets, parameters etc that need to be scheduled from a custom database table. A unix command could then be used to add rows to the table which the workstation would then read and run the exports.
How you do this depends on what output you want to generate and how you want to deliver that output to the users. You can find an article on my web site (www.cabotconsulting.co.uk) that describes how to schedule Discoverer reports using the Applications concurrent manager. This method also uses a custom table to hold the reports to be scheduled.

Scheduling Workbooks on Discoverer Viewer.

Hello guys
I know you can schedule workbooks in Discoverer 10g Plus, but can you do this in Viewer? If not, then does this mean that we must give all our users Discoverer Plus so that they can schedule their own workbooks? Users used to schedule their own workbooks on Discoverer 4i. Now we are upgrading to 10g and we wanted to give them Viewer access. How do they schedule workbooks in Viewer?

In Discoverer viewer you cannot schedule reports though you can retrieve reports that have been scheduled.
Users that have access to Viewer will also be able to access Plus by entering a Discoverer Plus URL. The users privileges are stored in the EUL and determine what features the Discoverer user can access, not which tool they can use. So if the user has read-only access to the workbooks in Viewer then they will also have read-only access in Plus.

If you have just copy pasted this reult in sheet2 then it will be static.
If you want to refresh data in all the sheets then you have to create diff. queries as said by Venkat and insert this query in sheet2.
When you want to refresh data for any particular query then put cursor on any cell of the Query result an refresh it.
If you want to refresh data for all the queries in the workbook then select cell(put cursor) on any empty cell and refresh the workbook.

Hi,
You need to assign a role to a user. WHen this user enters the system s/he will be able to save queries under the role (the button 'Roles' will be seen).

Class names should start with a capital.
Don't put all your code in the main method. Start to break it down into smaller chunks which can go into methods.
You need to read about File classes and IO. Do a search on the sun website for a tutorial.
