How to save screen as Jpeg?

There is a way to save your screen as a JPEG image. COuld anyone tell me how?
Thanks!

I find the Screenshot Plus widget extremely handy, it will allow to select specific windows as opposed to everything on the screen. You can also choose from a number of file formats.
Cheers

The "iPad format" is PNG (which is better quality than JPEG).
There is no way to choose JPEG at the moment of taking the screen shot. You will need to convert the file using conversion software, probably on your computer. Google "convert PNG to JPEG".

  • How to save tiff as jpeg?

    Hi,
I am trying to save a tiff image as a jpeg.
I opened the tiff file in camera raw and made some adjustments, then opened it in Photoshop. There are no layers. Is there a way to save this as jpeg?
    Thank you

Make sure you convert it to RGB or Grayscale, and 8 bit/channel (the modes that JPEG supports).

If you chose print, you can save as PDF. If you open the saved PDF in preview, you can save as JPEG, GIF, PNG. FYI you can crop in preview.
Another option is you could use command + shift + 4 to do a screen shot of a specific part of of the screen.

  • How to make Photoshop save Aperture imported JPEG images as JPEGs

Recently, I upgraded from Photoshop CS 5 to CS 5.1.
My point and shoot cameras record in JPEG format. Often, I'll import those photos into Aperture and then tweak them in Photoshop using the Edit in External Editor command. My preferences for the external editor in Aperture were set to 8-bit, Photoshop
With Photoshop CS 5, I would edit the photo and choose Save and the edited photo would be saved back to Aperture as a new version, in a JPEG format.
Now, using Photoshop CS 5.1, when the imported image from Aperture is converted into a PSD file and when I save back to Aperture, I end up with a PSD file.
How can I revert to how it was before? JPEG image in Aperture, opened in external editor Photoshop as a JPEG, edited in Photoshop, then saved back to Aperture as a new version JPEG?
(Though this question is approached in this forum, a solution to my question is never found as each dicussion ends up going off-topic from the original question)

Any further ideas from anyone who's experienced trying to open a JPEG from Aperture in Photoshop as a JPEG?
Like I said before, you cannot open a jpeg as a jpeg, the file must be decompressed to open in PS or in Aperture, and that has always been the case.
I do not know how it used to work, but I tested and you are correct that with PS 12.1 and with Aperture 3.2.2 a JPEG sent to open in external editor (PS) is opened into your choice of lossless format and then goes back to Aperture in the lossless format you chose.
IMO this is the way it should be, because every save into JPEG loses image data, so such saves should be limited to the final export, in this case when the image actually leaves Aperture. If the file was compressed as a JPEG  when leaving PS, decompressed and edited in Aperture, then compressed again to export as JPEG from Aperture, unnecessary additional image data loss would occur.
It is always better to save the application of lossy compression until the very last step in a workflow because other usages (printing, for instance) may occur before applying the lossy compression.

How to save a photo in my iphoto library as wallpaper on my computer screen?

In addition to FoxFifth's recommendation, you can also copy the link location, or copy the image, and subsequently paste into another application. In some instances (e.g. openclipart.com), one can drag/drop images into local application documents. Exceptions are images that were created with Adobe Flash, HTML/CSS, or blocked from access by the site owner.
Just because you can copy an image from another location, does not automatically grant you the ownership, or use rights to that image on creative works of your own (e.g. blog).

  • How to save jpeg email attachment to iphoto?

i'm an iphoto (and mac os x) newbie, and i can't figure out how to save a jpeg attachment that someone has sent me so the image shows up in iphoto. what is the easiest way to do this? i'm using apple mail and iphoto 6 on a macbook pro running os 10.4.5. although occasionally i'd like to save jpegs from my web-based hotmail account too. thanks
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

The easiest way to do this in Mail is; next to the attachment field in Mail, you'll see Save & Slideshow. Use the Save pull down menu to "add to iPhoto" & the Slideshow is just what it says, it will do a slideshow of the photos in your email attachment.
I don't use Hotmail, but I'm sure all you do is click on the image, File>Save>Desktop. From there you can drag the image into iPhoto. Or simply drag the image from Hotmail to your Desktop or directly into iPhoto.
    I hope that was helpful.

  • Workflow Question...How to Save as JPEG after Sending to Elements?

i understand how to export files right from lightroom and save them as jpegs...but i have a related question i haven't found the answer to...
let's say i do some post processing in lightroom but want to do a couple of things in elements afterwards. i understand how to get the worked on image into elements (photo--edit in), but the file that is now in elements cannot be saved as a jpeg...is there a step i am missing, or do i have to get that image back into lightroom to then export out as a jpeg? if so how do you get the reworked file back into lightroom with the elements changes still intact? thanks.

You don't give details about "the file that is now in elements cannot be saved as a jpeg", but it's likely what's happening is this:
You give the Photo > Edit In command, and LR opens the Edit Photo With Photoshop Elements options window. You select one of the Edit A Copy options, and the Copy File Options in that window specify TIFF with a Bit Depth of 16 bits, so a 16-bit TIFF gets opened in PSE.  PSE can't save a 16-bit TIFF as a JPEG, so you don't see JPEG as an option in the File > Save As command.
    Some options:
    1. In PSE, do Image > Mode > 8 Bits to convert the TIFF to 8 bits/pixel.  Then you can do File > Save As to save the image as a JPEG.  You'll then need to import that JPEG into your catalog (or use Synchronize Folder), and you'll probably want to delete the TIFF copy that was created and sent to PSE.
    2. In PSE, just do Save, which will save your changes in the TIFF copy that LR created.  You can export that TIFF as a JPEG and import it back into your catalog in one step by setting the Add To This Catalog option in the Export window (you might want to check the Add To Stack option also).  You could define an Export preset called "Export as JPEG into catalog" that captures these export settings for convenient one-click use.   You'll have to manually delete the TIFF copy that was created and sent to PSE.

First of all, are you using the OS native screen capture?
If not, make sure the application you're using has been update for Lion.  I was using Snapz Pro for years, but I need to update it for use with Lion. Meanwhile Grab and the keyboard shortcuts are working on my Lion load.
If you are using the native capture mode unsuccessfully, I would run the Disk Utility and repair permissions on the drive. For some reason, even in past OS Versions, routine maintenance of permissions makes life a lot easier.

  • How to save multiple images from jpeg to psd?

I'm pretty new at this and have tons of vacation photos. Things I've read have left me terrified of leaving my images in jpeg, but I don't know how to save them all to .psd (and is that really the format I want to use?). I tried, and suddenly I'm out of space on my harddrive, so I think I've made copies of copies and have way more saved than I need. Any advice is appreciated - thanks.

  • How to save applet in image(gif/jpeg) format

    Hi there !
how to save applet in image (gif/jpeg) format. i have just gone through JIMI package where serilization is there ,WHERE U CAN SORE in image format ...........can anybudy help me out.........if possible then pleeez provide me some example.
    Thanks in advan...........

I think that is possible because i have seen some commercial applets that do that.
Thses two saves the image in the server since applets cant write in the host they are running. Maybe it would be possible whit JFS, i don't know.
For now I am trying to store an image draw in the applet on my server.
My idea now is copying the image to a buffer or something, open a connection to the server and receive the image with a perl CGI.
There is an example with text:

  • How to save greyscale image as jpeg?

Anyone know how to save a greyscale image as a jpeg in labview?

    Hi Jonathan,
If I understand you correctly, you had a greyscaled image, which you applied color to and now want to save this new image.  Before I jump into possibly solutions, I have a question for you.
Are you using any IMAQ, Motion, or Vision VIs?  If not, try using the Picture Control VIs - specifically, the "Write JPEG File.VI"
If that won't work, please post a small piece of code illustrating the issue.
    Thanks!
