How to save settings of Smart Playlists ?

Hello,
Im using Itunes Smart Playlists a lot.
Im running Itunes with Windows.
I will soon change my PC and I would like to save the settings of my smart playlists.
To be clear I do not want to save the contents, the list of songs, of the smart playlist, it is the parameters of the smart playlist that I want to save in order to be able to recover the smart playlistand and its content. If in futur i add songs in my library thats matchs the smart playlist parameters i want the smart playlist to be updated.
I am looking for an automatic solution, the solution: you can write the settings on a notepad or take a screenshot does not suit me. (Do not ask me more details but I have a list with more than 100 criteria).

Hello, does everybody know how to save settings in iPhoto '11 (9.1.3)? Always when I change settings, for example when I check "Copy items to the Library", it is after new start up restored to the default. Also every start up appears "Welcome to iPhoto" and I'm not able to switch it off.

For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

How do I create a smart playlist of songs that are not in any playlist?

I have zillions of songs and many playlists to manage them. So how do I create a smart playlist that shows songs that are not in any playlist?
An easier answer would be " Playlist > is > None" but this option is not available.
Any other creative solutions?
(...and a long list of "Playist > is not > Playlist AA" through "Playist > is not > Playlist ZQ" is not a manageable answer as my playlists are too dynamic for that. Such a playlist would always be broken.)

How can I create a smart playlist of least played complete albums? (of a specific genre, say jazz)
What I would like to do is to have a playlist that will always automatically pull the least played albums of a specific genre (ideally, but not necessarily, with a random album play within that playlist) Hope you are getting the concept!

As you say, you can't access the Gapless property in a smart playlist rule.
The obvious way that comes to mind would be to create another playlist with stuff to exclude from your final list and put the gapless tracks and anything else that won't filter out easily into it.
Yes you say but I have oodles of gapless tracks and I don't want to gather them up by hand.

How do I create a smart playlist that automatically gets updated when I add songs to other specific playlists?

Basically I have a number of playlists containing specific types of songs, and also have an "All Songs" playlist that contains everything from these playlists. It would be really helpful if the songs I add to the smaller playlists could also be added to an "All Songs" smart playlist automatically. How would I do this? I tried to make a smart playlist by selecting "Playlist" "is" "[names of each playlist]." But nothing happened. Is there something more I'm supposed to do? I'm not really familiar with how smart playlists work, so I may be doing something wrong.

Check up at the top of your smart playlist rule for "All Songs". Is it currently saying "Match all of the following rules"?

How to save the front-panel controllers' settings to different files and retrieve it later?
What I've archived is the "Save Settings" function, but when trying to "Reload Settings", I can only retrieve the saved data to front-panel indicators, but not the controllers!
Can anybody give me some advises?

While there are books about UNIX, I like the good old man pages. Just type *man command_name* in Terminal to get the manual page for the command.

How can I get my smart playlists on iTunes match to update automatically on my iPhone?

I've been trying to figure out how to have my smart playlist in iTunes update on my iPhone automatically via iTunes Match, but everytime I create a smart playlist it shows up on my iPhone but it contains every single song in my library rather than just the ones that are supposed to be in the playlist.

Experienced same situation with my iPhone4. Just started using the cloud last week for my music library.
Solution: Click "Update iTunes Match" using iTunes on my MacBook Pro. A minute or two later all of my playlissts appeared on my iPhone. Hope this is helpful

I'm trying to figure out a way to make a playlist of songs I generally like from a very large library to fit on my iPod. The songs aren't rated, and I don't want to have a totally random selection chosen by a smart playlist.
I thought a good way to pare down the list would be to sort album by artist, and then filter that list in order of the size that each artist takes up. It's more important to get rid of an artist that I don't like that also hogs a lot of space than one that maybe only has one track. I figure if I could scan down the list and exclude the worst offenders, it conceivably would make the task much simpler.

My whole family uses itunes. I want to make a playlist that uses other playlist. However, when I start a smart playlist and click playlist is I get a dropdown menue that doesn't show all my playlists. My wife's name happens to start with a V so all of hers are at the bottom and don't show up.

Once the list of playlists is on your screen you can use the Page Down/Page Up and Arrow Down/Arrow Up keys to access values that aren't shown.

How to save settings on Toshiba 40RL933

Dear all,
I've just purchased Toshiba 40RL933. I use it for digital TV channels by local TV provider in Ukraine. While setting up this TV I've found that if Ukraine is selected in countries list then the message apperas that DVB-T is not available in this country. So I've got the ability to get digital channels only by selecting Germany.
Everything is fine now but the language - such channels as Euronews start speaking german language every time I turn my TV on. I can select another language, but I cannot save these settings.
Can anyone explain how can I save the selected language of the channel forever?

P.S. Truly saying I don't understand why Toshiba has locked DVB-T for Ukraine. I've found it as at least "strange" solution.

This site only supports models from the US. I'd recommend you contact Toshiba in your region.

How to Save settings

I made a few Java Programs and I've wanted to do something but never knew if it was possible.
I would want to save a string of text so whenever I open the program it is the same until I change it.
like let's say a program that saves notes with the ability to save without using TextWriters.
Is that possible?
