How to save "sites" in separate files?

I am working with three different sites (work, personal, etc.) and would like to save them as separate files, not as part of a single domain package. Is this possible without having to create separate user identities?
Also, having saved two sites in iWeb, they are put in the domain.sites packages. Looking into the package I can’t distinguish which files belong to which sites. Any ideas,
Cheers,
Reb

You could try this: create a site. Move the domain.site file to a folder named for the site. Start iWeb and create another site. Repeat. When you want to work on a specific site move its domain.site file into the iWeb application support file.
Yep, a total pain in the neck. However it is either that or use a different user account for each site. My own experimentation has determined that as the total domain.site folder grows the save time grows tremendously.
It's likely that before long someone will write a little utility to do this automatically.

  • How to save downloaded update installer files

How can I locate a downloaded update installer file so I can save it and use to install on another mac without having to download all over again?  Today I downloaded updates for OS X and also for Office 2011.  The first is over 2GB and the second around 300MB.  I have installed on my Macbook Pro, but I have another 3 units to update. I live in a 3rd world country with very slow internet and it takes me days to download such files.

Grateful for you having replied but for some reason I seem unable to open your message "Re: How to save downloaded update installer files".  Waikato99

  • PSE4: save layers to separate files?

Is it possible to save layers to separate files on Photoshop Elements 4? I want to create an animation, but I want each slide to have a different time. When I Save for Web and select Animation, all layers have the same timing.

No, the only way to do this with PSE is to duplicate layers so that the same one appears longer. So for instance, let's say you have three real frames and you want the first and last ones to appear for 2 seconds and the middle one for four: make a four framed image by duping the middle frame so it's in view for twice as long.
For anything more elaborate than that, you need a different program, I'm afraid.

  • How to Save site as template in SharePoint 2010

    hello,
I am little bit confused about how I can save a site as a template in moss 2010!
In SharePoint 2007 it was simple > site actions > save site as template... and done!
but I do not find how to make that in the new SharePoint, I would be really happy if someone could tell me how to do that.
    I found some tutorial:
To create a Site Template, browse to the Site you want to create from.  Go to Site Actions –> Site Settings –> Save site as template (under the Site Actions heading).  Give your template a name, and don't forget to check the "Include Content" box if you want to include library and list content in the template.  This will create a new site template in your Solutions Gallery, which you can then use when creating new sites.  You can also download directly from the Solutions Gallery to a .WSP file.
but the thing is, I do not have the "save site as template" link! I also checked if I need some special site feature activated, but I have all activated.
    thank you in advance

I imagine you are trying to save a publishing site as a template, correct? If so, the save as site template link is not available for publishing sites. This was not supported in MOSS and I imagine isn't in SharePoint 2010. The reason was due to publishing sites having pages and layouts tied to content types that do not move with the template.
If you would like a work around, you can disable the publishing feature (which will then make the save as site template link visible), save the site as a template, then re-enable the publishing feature. You would have to re-enable the publishing feature on each new site built from this template, if desired.
Go to Site Actions > Site Settings > Manage site features under Site Actions. Deactive the SharePoint Server Publishing feature, then go back to the Site Settings page. You should now see the save as site template link. After you save the template, turn back on SharePoint Server Publishing.

  • How to save pictures to a file outside of IPHOTO

How you do you save photos to another file that isn't in Iphoto? I was trying to upload some photos to a webhosting site and I had the hardest time trying to find the library they were in. I ended up dragging the all to the desktop and renaming them.
Is there an easier way to this? I did see the export feature..is that what I use and how do I do multiple photos?
    Thanks
    CC

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but lets see if I cannot give you some idea.
If you got to \User\yourname\Pictures\iPhoto Library\ Right click iPhoto Library and select Show Package Contents.
In there, you will probably see 2 folders titled "Modified" and "Original"
In those folders, you will see your pictures categorized into Years.
Good luck. Hope thats what you were looking for.

  • Looking for Help on How To Save Video as Divx File

Can someone help? I have iMoive 4.0.1 and I need to save video clips as a Divx file. I go to the "share" button and try to compress the clip for Quicktime and choose expert settings. This gives me a list of options including Divx AVI. When I choose this option, the file is turned into an .avi file not a .divx file. ANd there is no other Divx choice available. I have talked to another iMovie user (v4.0.1., too) and--the odd thing--on his option list he has Divx (not Divx AVI). So I need assistance in either finding another way to do this with my existing 4.0.1. or finding a plug-in that will allow me to save as a Divx file. Or--if no one can tell me how to do this--let me ask if anyone out there knows whether iMovie HD 5.0 or iMovie 6.0 would allow me to do what I need to do. Thanks.

Divx isn't a standard option, so you have downloaded some third party support for Divx. Try the latest version.

  • How to Send Attachments as Separate Files?

How do I send an attachment as a separate file using Mail 2.1.1 so that it is not embedded in the message?
    Thanks
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Not sure I understand your question, do you mean like how images and PDFs display in the message window? Well, you could right click on the file in the Finder and Create Archive, that will create a .zip file, which is also smaller for e-mailing, then attach the .zip file. You can combine a few files together into a folder first and archive that also.

  • How to save site template with subsites..?

    Hi,
I am trying to save site as template., and found that subsites are not part of that site template..
Can anybody tell me how can I save site as template with subsites.?...
    Thanks,
    Parag

As Paul said you can only save a single site at a time.  I'm not sure specifically what you are trying to do, but it wouldn't be terribly difficult to write some code which provisions a site with specific subsites.  I've seen this type of scenario
handled many times via both manual and automated processes.  It all just depends on the requirements.John Ross

  • How to save site--all files

I haven't used DW in years. I've created a simple site that
starts off with an Index.html file and there are about ten html
files that it links to or link to each other.
How to I save the complete site as a unit that I can then
    upload?
E.g. do I have to have all the html files open/tabbed or can
I just have the primary/home file open and then
    save/export/whatever.
    What is the "whatever"?
    thank you
    alan

Did you set up a local site folder in DW yet? That's where
    all your site
files should be located. If you look at the files panel you
    should see the
name of your site folder, and inside that should be all the
    site pages,
images, scripts, styles, etc... Clicking the up arrow will
    Put selected
files or folders to remote server.

  • How do I save clips as separate files?

I'm new to Premiere Elements but I'm sure that this is a very common situation.  I have a bunch of video tapes that I have imported.  I set up one project per tape.  Each tape has several unrelated sequences for instance Christmas, a basketball game, a couple of birthdays and a vacation.  I want to break these into totally separate clips, tag each clip with the pertinant information and use those clips to build movies or albums, for instance all of my kids birthday parties, highlights from all of the basketball games, etc.  I've cut the first tape into clips but don't know where to go from here. I would really appreciate advice or pointing me to a good turtorial on this subject.  Thanks jimadavis1

    Hi jim
you will get best advice over on the video forum.

  • How to treat JPEGs as separate files?

I understand that there is a toggle box for this, but does this work ONLY upon original import or can it be used after RAW files have been imported into the library?
My situation: I have existing RAWs that I occassionally want to convert in a third party RAW converter and then save as a jpeg -- the all the files still in LR's library for managing. When I do this into the same folder, LR recognizes that there is now a jpeg associated with the file (and it indicates this with a CR2+jpeg note on the thumbnail), however, I can't get LR to display the new jpeg.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks,
    Frank

Nope. In this case, I'm just shooting and importing the RAWs. Then I'm using the "find in finder" to go to the RAW and open it in a third party RAW converter (in this case, DPP, but I might also do this type of thing with Bibble). Then I'm saving the file from that third party program as a jpeg into the same folder. I'd like LR to let me see the original RAW as well as the new version that was saved as a jpeg.
Now...that I think of it, I should probably be saving modified versions of the files in a separate "derivative" type folder. But, my suspect DAM management aside ;7) , I'm wonder why this won't work.
As background, I'm looking to possibly shift my DAM over to LR from iView/eMedia, so I'm testing how well LR (and I) can handle conversions that were done in other programs.

  • How generate a XML file & how to save data in that file?

    hi,
How to generate an xml file & how to add data in that xml file? is there anyone who can help me about this? Firstly i need to open a xml file and after that i need to save user data in that file? how i will do it? What will be the solution of this? please give me solution........
    with regards

With an API like Xerces you can parse an XML document into a DOM tree. You can do modifications on that tree manually and then write it back out as XML data.
