1. Insert a textbox on the freeform shape, edit text in the textbox.
2. Select the freeform shape, and right-click > Add text.

Are you having trouble signing in to your subscription, or having trouble converting files once you're signed in. If you can't sign in, it could be that your subscription just hasn't finished processing yet. Please let us know if you're unable to sign in and we'll go from there.

How to get text into a timeline

I do not understand how to get text into a timeline in Premiere Pro. I can work in titles more or less, change fonts and sizes, but I do not get how to insert the text into the timeline. Am I even starting at the right place, going into "titles" first?

Once you have made your title, drag it from the project panel to V2 on your timeline above your other footage.

How to enter text into text box in Pages '09

When I manually select a text boxes in Pages, I can paste text into them. I can move from text box to text box using System Events to keystroke tabs but have not figured out how to get Applescript Editor to make the pastes. I am trying to use Applescript Editor to enter text into a pages document that is formatted for labels.

I have downloaded template U-0089-02_P.doc from Avery, 14 boxes displayed in two columns of seven rows.
Once you have clicked in the upper left box, the following script should enter text into every box, from left to right and top to bottom.

keystroke "Box 1"
keystroke tab & tab -- to go to the next column
keystroke "Box 2"
keystroke tab -- to go to the next row

First I would suggest that you read the documentation about working with Active/X.
The online version is in the documentation section of Forms on OTN.
Then, you insert the scan.ocx into your form. you use the ole importer to create a pl/sql package to communicate with the ocx and you are ready to start calling methods such as scan etc...

How to link text from Word?

How can I link the text from Word to InDesign? Is it merely to link the entire document, or can I link the same document multiple times? This is because I want to add pictures and graphs between the lines.

File > Place.... and select the document. You might want to show import options as you do this. It will import as editable text that you can manipulate in just about any way you like. Ordinarily this text is not linked back to the original file, so subsequent editing in the Word file will not be refelcted in ID, but you can set your preferences before importing to Create Links to Text and Spreadsheet files (under File Handling) if you want to be able to update to any changes (editing and formatting you do in ID will be lost when you update, however). This option can be turned on or off as desired to link some files, but not others.
If you wish to, you can place the same file multiple times, but there may be simpler ways to get multiple copies, so more details about waht you need to do might help.

If you want to edit the text DON'T scan to PDF, terrible idea.
Scan to Word, make the edits, convert to PDF.

Hi all.
I'm working with a copy writer who has a tendency to apply a return on every line on the Word document.
How can I over ride it so that I don't have to go back and eliminate every return in InDesign?

I use a text editing tool called TextWrangler by Bare Bone Software.

Copy/Paste into Text Wrangler
Use the
Text > Remove Line Breaks
Copy/Paste into InDesign
This will strip ALL formatting, and remove those pesky extra returns.

Any chance that you can educate the copy editor that the computer with MS Word is not a fancy Typerwriter and that there is no need to manually perform a carriage return?

Converting scanned PDF into Word document?

Can you convert a scanned document that comes out as a PDF into a Word document and if so, how do I do it? So far using Mac OS10.8 I get a blank document.

Open the PDF with Acrobat (Pro or Standard).
Perform OCR of the scanned image of textual content.
Save.
Use Acrobat's Save As (pre-Acrobat 9) or Export feature to output to Word.

In smartforms you can create a template object or a table object and set the boxes.
after you'll create the text object into the templeate and set on which box the data will write.
