How do I scan a document with my HP Deskjet F2480 in Windows RT for ARM-processor based tablets or computers? I have a microsoft Surface tablet and have no problem printing but it refuses to recognise my deskjet for scanning I have downloaded HP Scan and capture application but no joy

Hi Billjames0151, welcome to the HP Forums. If one of these methods do not enable you to scan on RT: How to Scan Windows RT or Windows 8 Tablets
Then you should try reinstalling it using this method: Install the Printer Software in Windows RT or Windows 8 on a Tablet

Hi midandco,
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates: OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend readding the printer with theOS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac.

Welcome to the HP Forum!
To do the job (scan) effectively, you should install the Full Feature Software for your printer onto your computer. The FFS contains the HP Solution Center which, in turn, controls the Scan function and all its features. Scan "how-to" help is outlined in the printer's manual starting around page 51.
If you do not (or cannot) install the FFS, you can try using "Webscan" as outlined in the Printer's manual, starting on page 53:

The download size for the Software can be large, so plan accordingly. That is, if your internet speed is slow, plan on downloading the installation file when you are not doing a lot of other activities.
Here are the instructions to look for and install the software for your printer.
In many cases, you can (re)install the Full Feature Software for your printer to enhance its capabilities. The HP Solution Center is an integrated part of the FFS.
(Re)install the basic driver or Full Feature Software:
Drivers control hardware connected to the computer (wired or wireless).
Software controls the programs that interact with the User.
Go to the top of the forum page to Support and Drivers
Enter your Printer Model information, and then go to Software and Drivers...
Enter your Operating System in the Drop-down menu... Scroll down
Look for category Driver - Product Installation Software
Select the appropriate Basic Driver or Full Feature Software – if available for your printer Save the *.exe installation package on your computer -
NOTE the name and the location of the file when you save it. The *.exe file will likely save to the "Downloads“ folder.
Install the Software / Driver installation package. If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select ‘run as Administrator’ and install.
NOTE: There is sometimes a lot of information at the printer’s website manuals, how-to pages, and alerts for your printer. Be sure to take an extended look at what’s available.

Adobe Acrobat Pro X, Mac, and Scanning with HP Deskjet Issue!

I am running Adobe Acrobat X Pro on Lion and when I go to scan from PDF, my HP Deskjet 3052 A scanner isn't showing up in the drop down menu. I also have Acrobat Pro X for Windows on my machine (VMWare) and it works fine, but it won't work with the Mac version. I have called Adobe and HP and neither have been able to help me. I bought this program with this feature in mind, and I am sick of having to toggle back to Windows to scan, as it eats up a lot of my processing power. I have downloaded the SANE and TWAIN drivers (or so I thought I did) with no luck. I have also un-installed and re-installed the printer and Adobe multiple times, with no luck! Please help me!

You won't be able to use a scanner (or the scanner part of a multifunction printer) that's connected to an Airport base station. You'll have to connect it directly to your Mac with USB to scan.
Normally, when you install a scanner, it comes with scanning software, which you would use to initiate the scan; alternatively, there may be a "scan button" on the unit itself, which will launch the software and perform the scan. Make sure you check for updated software on the Canon site (check especially for 10.5 compatibility), as bundled CDs often contain outdated drivers.

I am using an HP Photosmart 309A all-in-one printer. After updating to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 I am not able to scan at all. Image Capture does not work, it states "no camera or scanner connected." Yes I checked HP updates and they did help to determine the three methods where to find "Scan" on the Mac-
1. Method 1- Click System Prferences>Print & Scan>Click on Printer>Click Scan>Open Scanner>Click Show Details Method 2- Scan from Apple Preview >File>Import from Scanner Method 3- Scan from Apple Image Capture >Click on Image Capture>Select you printer from the list>Show Details.
That's what was described. However, I was unable to accomplished a Scan with any of the three methods because "Scan" was not available with the three. Evidently the Apple download of the drivers doesn't seem to recognize my printer even though it is listed as a printer that is supported. I even downloaded the Apple printer updates for Mountain Lion. That didn't work either. Unplugged the printer waited one minute, restarted the Mac and nothing seemed to work. Oh well tomorrow is another day and I will try again.

I see no chance to scan with my LJ 3055 under Mac OS 10.7. Fax an printing is in function without problems, but scanning doesn´t work. I´ve reinstalled all drivers, have the software update of the HP-printerdrivers via Apple software update function. No positive result. The Hp director software doesn´t work anymore. It doesn´t work after deinstallation and reinstallation too. Does anybody nows a solution? I´m an old mac user and early adaptor and I´m able to work with the Mac OS console. I`ve no idea myself. I have designed a EZ-USB FX2 device and I need to communicate with LabVIEW. I mean I just want to send and receive data. I don’t know how to achieve this goal.Someone have advised me to design a HID device,then use VISA Driver Development Wizards to generate driver(inf file).SO I defined it to a hid device .However when I connect my hid device to the computer, it will automatically be recognized as HID compliance device. I can’t to install the inf file driver. I wondered whether all HID devices will be acquiescently installed the drivers contained in the windows rather than use the inf file driver generated by VISA Driver Development Wizards? If so，what should I do next to communicate with HID USB device under windows XP with Labview? HOPE TO GET HELP!

Hi,
I am working on a project using PIC18F4550 MCU and USB.
I would need to send and receive data from the MCU thru USB. I have uninstaled the HID and created a new NI-VISA driver for my MCU. this worked fine, and it did showed up in MAX
Unfortunately I was not able to receive data from the MCU, Just sending!
I thought to use HID.DLL but the way I need to use the functions inside the HID DLL is simply too much for me, I am not a PC programmer.
There is any kind of VI that is able to use HID.DLL to comunicate with external devices conected to PC thru USB?
