Hi Sreedhar,
Did you find any option Scheduling for the report with in crystal designer.
We need Crystal Enterprise or Server to schedule the reports at regular intervals.
We can schedule the report for our required destination, we can view the reports with default viewers with in the Enterprise.
There is no need of using any third party tools.
Regards,
Naveen.

Creating Crystal Reports with Crystal Report Server XI
Hello,
I am new to Crystal Reports, i installed Crystal Reports Server XI R2 on Windows 2003 server with SP2 and was able to launch Inforview application and also Central Management Console Log On.
I can also see some sample reports which are installed during installation.
Now my next task is to create Crystal Reports using Crystal Report Server XI R2. How can we create a crystal report now by only using Crystal Report Server XI R2?
Do we have to install some other application to create Crystal Reports? I donot see any link on my server which i can use to create crystal reports. The only links which i can see are :
Business Objects-->
Crystal Report Server-->
.Net Administration LaunchPad
.Net Infoview
Business View Manager
Central Configuration Manager

Please help
Thanks
VipinTwo ways to create reports:
1) You install the Crystal reports Designer (CRW32.exe).
With your Crystal Report Server, you should also have received a second CD that would have the CR designer.
2) You use the RAS SDK and create reports on the fly using the RAS report creation APIs - .NET or Java. Since you are in the .NET developer forum, I assume you might be interested in the .NET RAS SDK. Here is a list of resources i would recommend:

Dynamic Crystal Report with Windows Server 2008
I am creating a report through code with Crystal report on Windows Server 2008 R2. When I am executing the following command:
CRAXDRT.Report.Database.AddADOCommand
This is generating an error which is given below:
Error description: Logon failed
Details: [Database Vendor Code: -205]
But its working fine with Windows Server 2003.
Private Sub AddRptDatabase(a_CRReport As CRAXDRT.Report, a_sStartDT As String, _
a_sEndDT As String, a_sDept As String, a_sStatus As String)
Dim cnnRpt As ADODB.Connection
Dim cmRpt As ADODB.Command
Dim sSQL As String
Dim sWhere As String
Dim sTemp As String
Dim sTemp1 As String
sSQL = sSQL & sWhere & " Order by AdminData.RONumber"
Set cnnRpt = New ADODB.Connection
cnnRpt.open g_objBA.LocalConnectionString
Set cmRpt = New ADODB.Command
cmRpt.ActiveConnection = cnnRpt
cmRpt.CommandType = adCmdText
cmRpt.CommandText = sSQL
'Create data set
a_CRReport.Database.AddADOCommand cnnRpt, cmRpt
Exit Sub
Please suggest some solution.Moved to Legacy SDK forum.
CR XI R2 Service Pack 6 and Fix Pack 6.4 should work on Windows 2008. CR 2008 SP 2 and above also. Older version, no support for it.
CR is 32 bit, make sure the 32 bit client is installed and being used.
Thank you

How to schedule multiple reports with different local to change static field language ?
Hi all,
we have requirement that we will place multiple schedule request on same server ,This schedule request will be different local setting with parameter value like: en-GB,en-US,Chinese...etc .We used translation Manager for this and it takes this parameter and change report language for static fields.
problem is that ,on server it is not working properly,we tested for one report .if we pass prompt value to change local setting in report the we need to log off and login again in CMC to reflect new local or on BI Launchpad we need to refresh page then it shows new language.
How we can do this with multiple scheduled report which will have different local value like en-GB,en-US,Chinese,German....?These schedule request are getting placed in server by one user .
Please help us with sample code.
Thanks
MadanHi,
The only approach I can think of is to create a template report which uses variables
For each column you would need to variable
v_columnAName and v_columnAValue
v_columnAName would have a if statement in it
=if([client]="clientA" or [client]="clientC";NameOf([firstName]);if([client]="clientB";NameOf([SSN]);NameOf([lastName]));
v_columnA would have a if statement in it
=if([client]="clientA" or [client]="clientC";[firstName];if([client]="clientB";[SSN],[lastName]));
This would only work when you had a small set of clients.
This might be more managable if it was done in the universe

How to schedule a report with dynamic parameters
We need to schedule a Webi report with dynamic parameters then email the different result to different email groups. Is it possible to do this in scheduler? Please advise. Thanks.
there are 2 schedulers
1st CMS
the reports which does not have any input parameters, only then t can be scheduled in CMS
2nd in Infoview
if report has input parameters and if you want to schedule it, then you may need to schedule the report from Infoview
To have a email notification
configure the SMTP server in report JOB Server

Hi,
Trying to schedule a report using Crystal Reports Server Java SDK. Want to pass DBConnections from API, though passing DBConnections, the report is not being scheduled and says "Failed to retrieve data from the database.Details:[Database Vendor Code:6550].
Would be thankful if someone could answer my point as applicable.
Here is the code attached.
ISDKList dbLogons = oReport.getReportLogons();int dbLogonSize = dbLogons.size();
for(int i=0; i<dbLogonSize; ++i) {
IReportLogon dbLogon = (IReportLogon)dbLogons.get(i);
dbLogon.setDatabaseName("DBname");
dbLogon.setUserName("usrname");
dbLogon.setPassword("pwd");
Thanks in advance.Post Author: Manjula

Ted,
Thank you for your valuable information.
First, tried scheduling on Central Management Console and then with the java code.It worked fine, but here is another question for you.
On the Console, a report exists with ServerName and UserName harcoded and when trying to set ServerName and UserName from the java code, its throwing exception. Where as Password is not set on Console, am able to set password from java.
And DatabaseName is not set on Console (non editable), unable to set the same from java too. Why is it so?
So, my question is - though ServerName,DatabaseName,UserName,Password exists on the Console report, can't I override those parameters from java?
Would be greatful if you answer my question and provide me some guidance.
Thanks in advance. -

A single quote/apostrophe in string parameter passed to a Crystal Report with Command datasource connecting to a SQL Server database, using sqljdbc driver does not escape the special character correctly. When doing a preview in the Crystal Reports IDE it allows you to escape the input parameter as expected and work correctly, but through the JRC component it fails. For string parameters without special sql server characters I experience no problems at all. When replacing the Command with a direct table there is also no problem.
Reproduction:
1. create a database db1, create a table table1 with a String type column col1.
2. Create new report Report1.rpt, create a connection to above, Add Command using 'SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM table1 WHERE col1 = '{?Par1}' . Add a parameter field Par1 : String
3. In your java stand alone application using JRC add the parameter Par1 with a value "Jon Doe's Value" containing a single apostrophe. Export to PDF. (I also tried MSWord and this failed too, similar behavior). Additionally, in another test try to replaceAll("'","''") to escape it, preventing the code to break, but now it does not retrieve the expected row anymore and you end up with an empty report.

How to create user editable Crystal Report with dynamic dataset
What I would like to achieve:
A program loads a report in runtime updates list of database fields (possibly includes sample data), open report in "Crystal Reports 2011" (or 2008) where user customizes report and saves it. Later on the program loads the report, fills actualized data and displays it in .net report viewer.
What I do:
CrReport = New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
CrReport.Load(TemplateFilename)
Dim Results As DataTable
DataTable is filled from a database
CrReport.SetDataSource(mResults)
CrReport.SaveAs(NewReportPath, True)
The NewReportPath is opened in the default program.
What are the problems
The report is open in preview mode (not in design).
When the field is added to the report the designer asks for XML datasource on preview.The short answer is that it is not possible. I broke the question to other two: How to save a report that it opens without preview? and How to create user editable Crystal Report with dynamic dataset, where it is possible to find details. Key answer is Re: How to create an editable previewable report?

How to feed data into crystal reporte with "SQLQuery" method in c#?
Hi there,
I've an old app that was written in VB with some crystal reports from Crystal Report 7.
Now I need to upgrade this old app into c# with newer version of Crystal Report, so we decide to go for VS2010.
I can open the report template in the VS2010 without any problems.
But I'm running into some issue here:
the old report has multiple tables from a SQL db as the connection. Each table has a PK to each other.
and the VB code feed the data like below:
MainForm.CrystalReport(1).SQLQuery = SQLString
I couldn't find any reference for "SQLQuery" method in the C#, is there such command exist?
Thank you in advanced,Thank you Ludek. Looking into the info you provided.

Exporting Crystal Reports with embedded Xcelsius content to PDF
Hi,
I have a crystal report with an embedded xcelsius chart. I would like to schedule this report using Crystal Server 2008, sending it monthly as a PDF file attached to an email. But after exporting the report through Crystal Server, the xceslsius content is just blank. Shouldn't this be working?What is the version of Adobe Reader? Adobe Reader 9 should be there.Also check whether you have Flash Palyer/ flash Active X control installed.
If you can view the dashboard after exporting it to PPT,it means you have Flash Player installed. You need to try with Adobe Reader 9.
