How to schedule refresh query in webi?

Dear Experts,
I'm facing problem on how to set schedule refresh query and disable refresh function for End User in WEBI. The problem is that each time of refreshing query it'll take long time and I just don't want end user to endure this painful waiting. I used universe connection in IDT.
Please give me some suggestions or ideas to deal with this problem.

hi Zagory,
not sure understand your question correctly...
you can open the query with bex analyzer,
with display/change the query, and there is button 'display query on the web' (after V and X button).
or you can create a web template and add web item 'table' or 'chart' and choose the query as data provider.
for web template that exist in favorite, when you click from sapgui after login, it will be executed on browser.

How to use a query in Web template

Hello i have really a very silly question.
How can i use a Query that is already defined by BEX into a Web template so that i can set up simple properties like changing colours of Row as well as avoid Tab pages.
I logged into a Web template.
Can any provide step by steps.

No questions is silly, doubt is always a doubt and clarifying the same is the best way to deal with that.
Anyway philosophy apart and coming to business.
1) created the query in Query designer, say Zquery1
2) logon to WAD.
3) for assigning Zquery1 to WAD template, you haev to decide how you are going to use Zquery1 in WAD.
4) for ex: you want to display the query result and also a graph based on that result.
5) So we have to drag drop Chart and table in WAD.
6) create dataprovider and assign zquery1 to this dataprovider.
7) save and execute.
For chanding the colors, under properties, we will have many stylesheets delivered by SAP. Yiou can choose anyone on this which suits to your requirement. If not, then edit the stylesheet and code it as per your need.

How to disable refresh button in webi reports in BOXI3.1SP2-Java SDK

Hi all,
We have integrated Java with BO, here end users will give parameters through java screen. After submitting all the parameters webi reports will opens in separate window.
Here requirement is end users should pass the parameters from java screen and they should able to save the report in to excel/PDF.
Refresh/edit buttons should disable/hide in the webi report.
below is the sample url we are using in the java.

why do not set this over the authorization scheme? Just deny your users the right to refresh/edit the report.

I need to create a query with web service data control, in WSDL, it's query operation, there is a parameter message with the possible query criteria and a return message contains the results. I googled, but cannot find anything on the query with web service. I cannot find a "Named Criteria" in web service data control like normal data control. In Shay's blog, I saw the topics on update with web service data control. How can I create a query with web service data control? Thanks.

How to schedule the webi report based on data changes in the report data

Hello,
I want to schedule a webi report based on data change in a column in the report.
The scenario is something like below:
1. If a data of a particular column changes from 2 to 3 than I would like to schedule this report and sent it to users mail box.
I know how to apply alerts or schedule a report or data tracking for capturing changes in the report but I dont know how to schedule the report only for data changes.
Anybody done this before.

I am on BO 4.0 SP05 Patch 6. Webi reports are just showing processing but not giving results. When I try to create new report it is throwing java security error.
Tried applet patch upgrade(From link : https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000902752013E) for webi certificate but didn't help.
Please suggest what could be done.

Use the web api reset_data_provider as links or in select option in HTML.
   Onchange event of this select option should call JAVASCRIPT method and
   this in turn resets the current dataprovider to your concerned one.
   How to change graphs:
   The graph item has the default data provider:

How to suppress Result rows in a Query in Web Application Designer

I am trying to post a query in Web Application Designer. I am able to run the query in WAD but the Results rows appear. I choose Suppress Result Rows always in All Characteristics option in the query in BEx Explorer but still i see result rows in the WAD. Can anyone please let me know how to suppress Result rows so that they dont appear in Web Application Designer.

To get the enhanced menu-
1. Open the template in WAD.
2. Go to Web Item properties.
3. Go to Entries in Context Menu.
4. Find the "Enhanced Menu" property. Set it to "display" if you want it to be visible in template result.
5. Next time when you execute your template you will be able to access it by right clicking.
or
If you just want to supress results without adding enhanced menu in the context menu, simply set "Calculate result as" to "No Display".

Schedule a Query Refresh

Hi ,
In BW 3.1 is there anyway to schedule a job refresh a workbook automatically in the background . Can reporting agent be used to acheive this functionality ? I also would like to access the refreshed query from the document store and send it as an email attachment . I know that 3.1 does not support information breoadcasting , but can it be achieved programmatically ?
