Enter something in the box next to the words Advanced Search at the upper right and click on the button to display a list of search hits. Then, in the box to the right of the list, click on the word help to bring this Search Help and Tips page up:

You'll get that if you type "how do I search for text" or just "search" or just "find"
At the top level, under Essentials, Search Messages gives you the same as the top hit on Eric's search.
The answer to your original question in the post is given in number 3.
If needed, change your search to vary the results:
Search a specific mailbox:
Click a mailbox in the Search bar. To search a mailbox that’s not shown, start typing a mailbox name in the search field.

Why is "Search a Message" and "Search a Mailbox" not intuitive?
If I want to find something inside a single message, I would choose "Search a Message."
If I wanted to find a particular message I would choose "Search a Mailbox"
Or, I would type, "find a message" or "search for messages" in the Help search field and the top hit would be turns out to be the answer.
Or, even simpler, since "Search Messages" is the only main item referring to "Searching," I would start there. In that case, it goes right to what you want.
If I really wanted to know about searching for text in a particular message, I would first scroll to the bottom to see what was offered as related topics. Lo and behold, there is a related article that discusses searching in a message.
However, the help files in OS X are not very robust. They never have been. The Macintosh Way is all about trying things out and see what happens. You can always undo (most of the time).
But for people who need to read a book, David Pogue makes a ton of money publishing the Missing Manual series.

From what I understand of the ranking, one way to ensure a topic appears first on the list is to ensure the keyword is also part of the Topic Title. You might also edit the properties and add the keyword to the Keywords field in the General tab.

How to SEARCH for specific file TYPES, e.g. PDF?

If I know the title has in it "resume" and I know it's a PDF, how do you search for all PDF files that have the word "resume" in the title?
AND..
How would you search all PDF files that had the word "supervisor" inside the document?

Command F should do it. Once the search window appears, you should see a drop down box headed kind and next to it one headed any. Select PDF from the any one. Click the plus button, and another field will appear and you can see again more drop down boxes. You just want to set these up so you end up with name and contains, you can then add your text to the remaining field.

How to search for specific match from an array?

Thanks for the reply.
I am reading a position of switches whether ON/OFF. It is nothing but the digital inputs status from the field. I am Indexing that array, and connect it to the LED indicators to show the relevant status. Also I want to raise an alarm once, for the ON switches. By using Search 1D array, I got the first TRUE match index from the array. But if I want to know all the occurrences of ON condition (TRUE from an array of booleans) from an array of switches. How to do that?

I almost missed this message because you started a new thread.
In any case, the code altenbach posted will give you an array of the indexes that are set to true. So it sounds like that is at least part of what you want. The alarm you mention, is that one "master" alarm if any of them are true, or is it a separate alarm for each bit?
If it is one "master" alarm for all of them the logic menu has a function for ORing all the elements in a boolean array. Also when you say "alarm" what is the nature of this alarm? A dialog box? a flashing light (real or on the applications's front panel)? message in a status display?
The attached code shows one possible direction by adding onto altenbachs code the ability to accumulate a single error message based on the states of individual bits. (BTW: The other alternative that you might see would be to pass the array into a loop and use a case to append a message of the bit is true. The advantage of the one in the combined VI is that the loop only iterates for the number of true bits +1. Where as the other approach would have to look at all the bits one at a time.)
In a sense this is why I asked for clarification because there are a lot of things you can do when parsing an array like this.

Spotlight: How to search for specific file types?

Hi. I'm looking for bookmarks that may contain a particular word. Is there a way to filter my spotlight (or finder) searches just for a particular file type? I know you can sort results by file type, but it's rather just filter in the first place...

How to get responses to topics posted on forum

I have submitted multiple requests to the forum in the past, on multiple topics, and received sporadic responses. My most recent request was originally posted on Dec 18. I have yet to receive a response from anyone. I have reposted to the same topic, in an attempt to keep it near the front of the list (most recently on Dec 26th).
What is the correct approach to receive a response? I have paid for JDeveloper, and would like some kind of reliable resource for help with questions and issues. I know I can submit TARS, but I don't feel it's appropriate to do this unless I truly feel there is a 'bug'.
In reviewing my old questions which were not responded to, I've noticed there are many other questions which never receive a response, either.
Even if a response is entered by someone indicating we should take the time to read a help topic to answer our own question, that is much preferred to not hearing anything.
Surely other users of the JDeveloper forum share my concerns?
Given that I have paid for the software, and for annual maintenance, is there a more appropriate resource to work with?

The JDeveloper discussion forum is free to everyone. The Oracle people who respond on this forum tend to be developers and product managers. We try to monitor the forum and help out as much as we can, but we don't commit to answering every question; if we did that there wouldn't be much time left to actually develop the product, which is the main job of this group.
If you want a guaranteed response to a question you should contact technical support. They're a paid service that guarantee a response within a certain period of time - and they're not just for reporting bugs. Your support contract also gives you access to metalink, where you can download product patches.

ok, I try first approach in print4.vi, but Labview return an error (view jpg); if I cut From, To controls, the VI print all pages. The same things happen also if I trasform I32 in Variant.
I don't try second approach, because at this time I have only one report
I try also with VB macro: this is better (print3.vi) but.....if I use:

You can't. The commandline parameters for Acrobat and Adobe Reader do not allow any type of commands to be run.

How to search a topic in SAP Library

All SAP Gurus,
This is rather a simple problem, but I'm unable to find the solution for it.
I'm using SAP Help library 'ECC6.0', we followed the following steps to search our desired topic (for example: procurment)
1. We click over 'SEARCH' tab
2. Entered the desired topic 'procurment'
3. pressed 'ENTER"
But we got no search results, and system is giving the message as 'No Topics Found'.
Can you please guide, how o search in SAP help library?

I have created a search page based on VO which contains creation Date field. Creation Date field stores date with time into database.
af:query is created on this VO. Suppose I have created 10 records today and want to query that by providing today's date(6/21/2011) in CreationDate field. On click of search, it does not return any record.
Since records in database are timestamp based, it does not return any record.
How to achieve this functionality where user can search by specific date?

Unfortunately I can't post any VIs that would demonstrate the problem
because the ActiveX components are confidential. I'll try to develop
my own ActiveX dll that will demonstrate it, but in the meantime, in
hopes that another picture will help, I've attached an image of a block
diagram (with some names changed to protect confidential information)
of one of the lower level VIs from the hierarchy I posted. In this
example, the "Automation Refnum IN" is an input with a type definition
linked to the strict typedef based on the ActiveX automation dll that
has changed. I updated that typedef, but as you can see the output to
the "Class1" indicator is broken. If I delete the "Class1" indicator
and select Create->Indicator from the Class1 property node, and then
wire the new "Class1" indicator to the connector pane, the VI is fixed
-- at least at compile time. In most cases there is also a runtime
problem where the reference obtained by one of the intermediate
property nodes is null, so the property or method node that uses it
fails (e.g. "_VNManager.Networks" property returned is 0, so the
"_Networks.Network1" property node fails). To fix this problem, I have
to delete the wires between the property nodes, and one by one select a
different property/method, then select the correct property/method and
re-wire. There seems to be a bit of "jiggling the handle" to get it to
work though.
I don't know if the ActiveX developer changed anything in this class,
but if he did, he didn't change the name of this class. I would like
to have to modify the VI only if a class, property or method has
changed name or been removed.
Does that all make sense? Thanks for any pointers or help!

How to Search Lightroom Library for Photos Using Specific Camera Profiles?

Photos processed using Lightroom 5.6 camera profiles for the Nikon D810 displayed posterized colors. A temporary workaround was published by Adobe, as described here:

Lightroom 5.7 resolved the issue, but I still have a lot of photos that were processed with the "v2 beta" camera profiles provided by Adobe, and those profiles still remain on my computer. I'd like to find all the photos in my Library that were processed using a v2 beta camera profile, update them to the respective new 5.7 profiles, then remove the v2 beta profiles from my computer so they no longer show as options in the Lightroom Camera Calibration pane.
How can I search my Library to find all the photos that used one of the beta Camera Profiles?

The Data Explorer, DevMeta, and Any Filter plugins can search for specific camera profiles. (You can't do it with LR smart collections or filters.)
