I'm new here. I have a question about searching ebooks in itunes search API.
If I know ISBN of one book, either 10-digit ISBN or 13-digit ISBN, how could I know its ebook ID in itunes store?
In other words, is there any rule that I could convert regular ISBNs to ebook IDs? Or where I could find the reference?
Thank you.Try searching Amazon or Barnes & Noble or your local library, if they have an online search, for the ISBN. That will give you the title of the book so you can then search the iBooks store. Or just buy the book from Amazon or B&N as a Kindle or Nook book; both have viewers for Windows and Mac as well as iOS devices.

I have a third-party DJ software program, djay for mac, that gets stuck when my itunes libray has any non-alphanumeric characters. I have not been able to find the recent non-alphanumeric characters in my itune dslibrary and I am a professional DJ. Does anybody know of a program or app that searches for non-alphanumeric characters in an itunes library? Please help.

How to search apps in ITunes on the desktop
I can find the page in iTunes that shows what Apple wants you to buy but I can't find a way to search for Apps. In the search button at the top if I enter something it simply times out and says it can't reach the store.

Managing content on the iOS device has not changed in any way with the new version of iTunes.
It is still possible to "drag and drop" content onto the device, my personal opinion is that this is a silly way of managing content.
Simply select the content desired to sync to the device and synce.
IF you really want to "drag and drop" content, then Manually manage content on the device must be select from the summary tab for the device. Then drag and drop content all you desire. This may require having the sidebar displayed. To display the sidebar, type Cntrl + S. -

Search for shared library is impossible, as far as I know. Searches supported - are local and internet.

Unfortunately the only way I can think to achieve this involves the use of "UI Scripting". The other previous posters have given you the preferred method you should consider using. If you want to script iTunes so that you visually see the search take place in iTunes you'll need to use the method shown in the script I've posted below.

How to search downloaded podcasts in iTunes
In previous versions of Itunes it was possible to search the description of a podcast with the search field in iTunes. When i search with the current version of iTunes the search only return matches from the title of the podcasts.
Example:
Title: Bicycle podcast week 42 - Mountain bikes.
Description: In this weeks podcast we'll discuss mountain bikes, as well as how to repair a broken spoke.
In previous versions of iTunes, a search for "spoke" would return a match for this podcast, while the current version would not find any match. Is there a setting I've missed, or is the possibility to search for key words in the podcast's description removed?You have made sure you are in the Lists view as I am, haven't you?
I can't remember when the alternative views came in (I don't use 'em), but the search doesn't find words in the description if you are in any of those other views. Actually, that's not strictly true. If I use the My Podcasts view and search for debut, this is what I get:

So before the search, a number-in-a-circle shows the quantity of unplayed episodes. Once I search, those numbers now indicate results for that search. But everything else is still displayed (Rubbish - isn't it?) Notice that the episode displayed on the right (Pheppidations) has nothing to do with the search, nothing at all! (Yup, really rubbish!) And to find the other results of the search, I have to scroll down the complete list.
Searching in the List view, shows only the results and hides non-results
Searching in My Podcasts view continues to show every single Podcast and one has to search the list to find the results. I'm not impressed!
I wouldn't hold out much hope for you with iTunes 11.1.4. -

I would like to keep my music on an external hard drive, how do I set up Itunes so that it goes right to that drive and folder when updating or the Itunes store placing the songs I purchase in the external drive?
Ok, here's my deal. I backed up our old laptop onto an external drive. We got the new laptop and my wife bought a new iPod. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes onto the new computer and posted the questions above. I guess I need more help so here goes.
Is there a way to use the library she had on the old laptop? I'm writing this on her behalf as she is basically technically ingorant and I am only slightly more knowledgeable but I know zero about iPods. Apparently she had her old library set up so some of the songs on her iPod we linked to the songs in my daughters iTunes folder? So.....is there a way to use the old library and if so, will it automatically find the mapping she set-up previously? If not, how do I go about getting this all sorted out? THANKS!! -
How can all family members of a Family Sharing Group use a gift card that has been been applied to the iTunes master account? I added a gift card to our master iTunes account for my grandson, and even though he's a family sharing group member, none of the purchases I have approved from his requests have used the gift card credit. A search of the iTunes support site failed to turn up anything that even remotely addresses this topic. It would seem reasonable to assume that any purchase made by any family member should be able to use the gift card credit since all purchases go through the master account, but this does not appear to be the case.

Regarding redeeming the gift card to the child's account, it is the same as redeeming to yours. You have to be signed in to the iTunes store using the child's apple ID, then redeem the gift card there. If you already redeemed the card on your ID, you won't be able to redeem it again.

Open the start menu, then select Control Panel in the right hand column. Open the Programs and Features section, type Apple in the search box at top right. You need to uninstall the components in the order suggested in the user tip.
Once all have been uninstalled reboot and use Windows Explorer to locate the named folders and delete them. Then reinstall.

How do I sync my iTunes library on my desktop to my laptop
I travel a lot and now have an iPod touch. I LOVE IT and I particularly love that I can download directy to the iPod from the internet - FANTASTIC!!
My issue is that I have the iPod sync'd with my desktop. Now I want to get my laptop in sync so when I travel I can have my library with me but it is telling me I would have to wipe my iPod Touch to sync with this laptop but all my stuff is on my desktop and iPod
I have not been able to find it in my help searches. I am sure there is a way to do this because Apple can't expect me to purchase two sets of all my music.
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
