To remove a photo from iPhoto and your Mac:
Put it in the iPhoto Trash, then enpty it. Then empty the system trash as well
If you want to remove a photo from iPhoto but keep it on your Mac:
First Export the file from iPhoto (File -> Export) to whereever you want it and then go through the steps above.
Confusion arises as the notion that you would want to remove a pic from iPhoto but keep it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's like saying I want to remove one address from Address Book, but still keep it on my Mac. The point of iPhoto and such apps is that they are used to manage your photos. Anything that you need to do with the pics cn be done either with or via iPhoto.

Unread emails on iphone

my phone incorrectly showed unread emails, iphone 4, I turned off all running apps and reset the phone using the 2 buttons until the 'apple' image appeared and the problem was solved. Just putting this out there for others with similar problem, hope it works for you....

is it possible to search for e-mails by name or keyword pls?
this should be a pretty basic function available to us.. any kind of business use will be affected by the absence of this.. (as the blackberry has..)

Sudden appearance of over 7000 unread emails on iphone

As I was clearing out my emails yesterday, I suddenly noticed over 7000 emails (marked as unread) in the inbox. However, when I open the inbox, it says "no unread emails." I also have no emails anywhere else (having deleted trash and junk mail). I can find no way of eliminating that pesky number when I close the email. Anyone have any suggestions? I've read anything I can find, and nothing seems to be working.

I am using Exchange 2010 server and iPhone 5, the same behavior as yours.
And I refresh the emails in iPhone 5 manually, the unreaded email becomes read.
I think it need some times to sync the changes.
If the status not changed after refreshing manually, I suggest use Windows Phone for test if it is convenient.
If it works in Windows Phone, I suggest asking iPhone support for help so that we can get more professional suggestions.
If it doesn't work in Windows Phone, since Office 365 is different from Exchange 2013 server, I suggest asking Office 365 Forum for help. For your convenience:

How to trigger unread emails for a given period ?

Hello All,
I kindly need your help on the following. I have a mailbox that receives huge number of emails per day , I`m processing those all unread emails every one minute using a third party tool and make them read after successfull processing , my concern is
that I want to receive any alerts if there are unread emails after 5 minutes for example. Because this will mean that the emails are not processing hence the scenario has stopped running.

You should use time-script monitor which run every 5 minutes and return unhealthy if an unread email was found in inbox.

I need some assistance connecting corporate email with iPhone (iOS v4.2.1)
I've got the following given :
1. Microsoft Exchange Server Address
2.Username and Password (duhh ! )
3.Microsoft Exchange Proxy Server Address
I tried connecting with only the ME Server address and login credentials . Got an error "Couldn't connect to server".

But the thing is the corporate IT Department is unwilling to provide necessary details , it seems so that according to their policy only blackberries were setup, that settings were confidential.
I know this is not the answer you want to hear, but if your corporate IT department made a decision that only Blackberry devices would be supported, and implemented security & other settings that are confidential, then it is not likely you will get your iPhone working with Exchange on your own. There are all sorts of settings in the Exchange environment that can allow or prevent devices from connecting, and those settings can only be changed by the IT department.
If you have a business requirement to use your iPhone with your company's Exchange network then escalate as necessary through your IT department and your management.

I have no hope of my IT group ever supporting the
iPhone, so I have my emails redirected (using the
Outlook rule) to [email protected] I then created a
GMail account on my iPhone using the Other shortcut,
so I could specify [email protected] as my address. So
now, a copy of all my emails gets forwarded to my
GMail account, I can respond and it looks like its

the office all my emails are still there waiting to
be downloaded, so I can delete them all as they come

I like the idea that any responses using the iPhone would look like the business email address to the recipients (and presumably any response made would go to the business email address?). Yep. You can set up MobileMe as a regular IMAP account and specify the "from" address that way; however, your emails will show as "From [email protected] on behalf of Your Name" in the recipient's inbox. I think it kind of defeats the purpose of sending from an alias if it's just going to display your user ID.

Terrible results when searching iCloud email on iPhone 5 (iOS6)

The search feature on my iCloud account on my iPhone is incredibly poor. When I search for an email, lets say an email from 3 weeks ago from "bob smith" nothing comes up. This happens with virtually any search of any email from any sender, but just to be clear, if I type "bob" or "Smith" or "Bob Smith" and whether I hit "from" or "subject" or "all" I still get nothing, or very little. And yes, the contact is spelled correctly and the contact is literally first name: bob, last name smith. The little search spinner will spin and it will say in grayed letters "seraching on server" "29,137 more messages on server"
Somethimes it will find some emails from Bob, and, if I'm lucky it will find the one I'm looking for. But iften it does not. Sometimes it just takes a while and several emails will eventually pop up after 3-4-5 minutes. But more often than not, the spinner just goes away and the search reveals nothing, or close to nothing. Even if I have hundreds of emails from said sender. I can find them all on my computer.
I have mail "on" in icloud settings and in email settings.
I just don't get it. More frustrating is that i don't see many others with this same problem.

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting your device.
If this does not work, and you have no problems connecting to the Internet, delete the mail account and set it up again.
