How to see absolute path images ?

Hi, I was following the manual to make absolute pathed images visible in DW,
you might want to disable viewing the image in Design view by deselecting Commands > Display External Files.
but got stuck due to no such function there in the command menu, I also selected the image ...
Help very appreciated.

To see images which have absolute paths the images have to be uploaded to the remote server, have you done that? Then click on 'Live View' at the top of the Dreamweaver window. Give it a few seconds and the images should appear.
You actually should be able to see the images without using 'Live View'. I don't quite know when it happens as DW seems to be a bit hit and miss. I've just tested some of my html emails and some do show the images and other don't BUT if I switch to live view then back to design view and close down/open up the document a couple of times the images appear.

There is no direct call that will always work. What you need to do is call get_application_property(current_form). This may have the full path in it, depending on if that path was defined when the form was launched. If there is no path, then you need to use TOOL_ENV.GETVAR to read the Forms<nn>PATH and the ORACLEPATH, parse those out into individual directories and then check for the FMX in each.

PDX index - how to remove absolute path to it?

I have a PDF and using File > Properties > Document Properties > Advanced tab have browsed to a Search Index, and added it to the PDF (I've added a big Search button that the user can press to search the entire, large, collection of PDFs).
The search index path that the Browse form puts in the Search Index: field points to a location on our network e.g. \\Server1\application\PDFs\index.pdx
This works fine when I'm running it locally, but when the PDF + index gets installed on a PC outside of our network the user gets a error telling them that it can't load the index.
I want to edit the path in the Search Index: field so that it is relative e.g. PDFs\index.pdx (the same location as the PDFs and the index file + folder), but the Search Index: field is greyed out and uneditable! I seem to be stuck with a useless absolute path.
Question: Is there any way of making the path to the PDF relative and not absolute? We need to put the PDF collection onto our software distribution DVD, and the customers will install it to their own PCs/network locations.
(I'm using Acrobat Pro X ver 10.1.8 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1, and the target audience will be using Acrobat Reader)

I think the problem is kinda fixed.
I created the library and index on a network drive and created a "start PDF" file at the same location. I opened the "start" file and used Ctrl-D > Advanced > Search index to add the name of the .pdx file.
I emailed the "start file" to someone else on the network. They downloaded it and double clicked it.
* They happened to be using the new 2015 Pro DC version. The message about the index associated with this document (...) could not be located. appeared. The path was expecting the .pdx file to be below the download directory.
* I clicked OK.
* Pressed Ctrl-Shift-F for advanced search.
* Clicked Show more options (because that user had never used Advanced Search) - and the index file was displayed in the look in field.
* Entered a search term and it worked perfectly.
I retested it using a Dropbox location. Created the "start PDF" file and emailed another person, not on the same network, but sees the same Dropbox folder. They use Acrobay XI v.11.0.10.
* The file was downloaded and double-clicked.
* Pressed Ctril-Shift-F - same index could not be located message - and again the .pdx file was assumed to below the download directory. But nothing auto-magically fixed itself.
The only solution here is to provide user with a link to the .pdx file on their desktop. When they double clicked it, Acrobat opens with the index loaded.
(Depending on the user, the other alternative is to add the index to the index list.)

How to see all my images in a large 3D world

I have a 14 rectangles (shapes created in AE) distributed around a 3D world. I have a camera (attached to a null) flying through the world to look at each one of the rectangles for a bit, and then move on.
In order to get nice flowing camera moves, the rectangles are between 3000 to 5000 pixels apart, in pretty much a straight line, and at varying angles to each other.
The problem I'm having is that I can't see all my rectangles at once. AE won't zoom out enough to have them all on screen at the same time. Once I zoom out to 1.5%, the hand tool stops working and I can't pan the view to the other objects, either at the head or tail.
Even when I zoom in to 25%, those items that are outside the viewing area at 1.5% aren't viewable - the hand tool doesn't move the view beyond the 'edge of the universe'.
I'm not a technical person, which is why I work on a Mac, so I don't know where to find all the system information that most people demand in these forums. This is a work computer, so I don't know how it was built or the details of its configuration. The information I DO know, is that I'm working on AE CC, the computer OS is Mavericks, and the computer itself is a tower with all the ram bays full. If you need anything other than that to help me solve this problem, I'll need directions to get to the information you need.

You can use the custom camera view and the camera tool to pull way back to see your scene. Personally, I would never put that many layers that far apart. I would put a wider angle lens on the camera or I would animate the scale of the layers as well as the camera move.
Think of the AE stage as a real world stage and pixels as inches or feet. Setting up a camera move on a real set that had your characters a mile apart would be more than difficult and way out of scale. Even if it were inches, 5000 inches is about 400 feet. Rethinking the layout will make things a lot easier.

How to see full size images when selecting multiple photos

In the Photos app, I click to view a photo and it shows up full screen like it used to. But now when I try to select multiple photos to upload to an email by hitting the send-to button at the lower left, suddenly all the photos are thumbnails at the top and a host of options fill the screen where the full-sized image used to be. Without full size previews I can't tell what photos in a series are really the better ones. Is there a way in iOS 8.1.1 to flip through your photos full screen and only select a few? It seems like this worked before but now this function has been removed? Thanks

I did discover that when entering the first letter of a keyword in the box, a list comes up with suggestions. Frequently that list is only of the keywords that begin with the letter I entered. Once in a while I can get the entire list but I don't know how I do it. It seems intermittent but I suspect it is not. Any idea how that happens? Thanks again.

Image display - How do I display an image using an absolute path?

How do I display an image using an absolute path in a compiled WebHelp?
Our developers use RH8 map IDs within our in-house applications to display in a model window created using Telerik Rad Window.
Unfortunately images disappear from these model windows because RoboHelp removes absolute links to [inserted] images and changes them to relative in the compiled WebHelp.
How do we overcome this? Is there a solution in RH8?

I have tried again and changed the path in the topic HTML
from : ..\..\HelpTopics\Icon_Search.png
to : \HowDoI\Help_CMS\WebHelp\HelpTopics\Icon_Search.png
I am obviously unable to see it in RH8 as I have removed the relative link so it is "outside" of the project.
This time, on compilation, it has not stripped out the absolute links. The developer was working with me on this last week and we did have any issue in that they did not hold the absolute link. Most odd!
Checking the published help it appears to be working in the application, which is great.
So my apologies for raising the issue but it really did not work last week.

Ok. You don't give the servlet the full path of an image. You just give an image id in query string. E.g.
http://my.server.com/imageServlet?id=12Id can be whatever: number as well as name.
Then, in your servlet You get this id, then read an image file that is mapped for this id and sends it to browser via servlet output stream.
On the jsp page you write sth similar to:
<img src="http://my.server.com/imageServlet?id=12"/>and your image will be displayed using your servlet. The image file path is needed only in the servlet code to open the stream to file (image file can be stored wherever you want in file system), read it and write to output stream. Read the tutorial accessible via link I provided in the previous post.

Can I link to images using absolute paths in HTML Help and still see them locally?

I'm publishing HTML help pages to a Web server. All .htm files on the Web server are in their own folder, and all image files are in a separate folder. Links to images are generally of the form <img src="/images/clear.png" height="14" width="8">. That is, the images use an absolute path reference from the doc root folder (rather than relative path from the current file folder, such as "../images/myImg.png").
I can modify the HTML for the images to follow this convention, but then I cannot see the images locally within RoboHelp, but must instead wait until the files are integrated with the Web server. Is there a way to set up a RoboHelp project so that I can force an image path of "/images" both locally and in the HTML?

RoboHelp expects the images to be within the project and will need that if you are to see them when working. It then uploads them to the server when you publish. There is a check box when you publish so that only updated files get uploaded.
You could point Resource Manager to the server folder with the images and then link to those images. What happens then is the image gets downloaded into your project so that you see it when working. If the server image changes you will see the icon in Project Manager changes so that you can update the local copy. It would be a one-off exercise changing your workflow.

how I can use an image in my Java Application when I create the jar bundle with Jar Bundler? Which is the path of the file? I don't know if I got it across...

By image, do you mean an icon for your program?
If so, then you need to create the image you want using any graphical drawing program, then use a utility such as Img2icns to put the image into the correct format (.icns). Once you have this, you can drag it into Jar Bundler and IIRC it just works.

How can I redirect an image path outside a Web Application ?

I think this is a quite simple question but I didn't find the precise answer on these forums.
I've deployed a WLP test portal 8.1, whose URL is http://host:7001/portalApp/, and my images are located here http://host:7001/portalApp/images/
In fact in my portal, a javascript located on another server references an URL which is http://host:7001/images/image.gif (I can't modify the script, but it takes the root /images/ path of the current server)
On the Weblogic server I would like to redirect the path /images to my /portalApp/images in order to display correctly the image.
I don't want to setup an Apache server just for this, and I believe there's an easier solution than to write a redirect servlet. I've red it is possible to modify the application.xml context-root but I don't know what to do precisely, I tried this :

I m uploading a file nd saving it at server.
PROBLEM:
server save my uploaded file at
C:\Program Files\Allaire\JRun\servers\default
[ a path where server is installed ]
while I want to save it at directory
c:\testing\uploadfiles
How can I achieve this???

but saving a file at our desired location,
nd this can only be done if we know reall/absolute path of our application at server,
i-e we need an API which can tells the absolute path of our application.
e.g
our application url is http://kaspak/testcode
we need its absolute mapping to directory on server
e.g it it is at c:\testcode
if we get the absolute path then we can pass it in above function or in File class constructor.
isn't it??

If you want to rearrange images in random order you can try an AppleScript:
retrieve a list of selected images from Aperture
shuffe the list properly
create an album in Aperture and add the images from the list to the album (make sure that the album set to be orederd manually)

How can you determine the absolute path to a dynamically created NetStream object?

We are trying to implement video captioning with a freeware component, ccforflash. This requires us to provide an absolute or relative path to our NetStream object. How can we determine this path in Flash CS5 AS3?
From the CCforFlashCS5 documentation:
"2. Object name and path
Type the name and path. This is the instance name of the object with which CCforFlashAS3 will synchronize. It must be spelled correctly, since CCforFlashAS3 will query the object with this name for timing information in order to synchronize the captions. The path must also be included; either relative to the CCforFlashAS3 component (i.e. this.parent) or the absolute path from the main level of the movie (root)."

It would be easier if the NetStream object was created on an easily identifiable place on the timeline. This player has an MVC architecture. The NetStream object is created in a subclass to Model class, which is itself a subclass of the EventDispatcher object. The View class access it via an interface.
As you can guess, it's not that straightforward to determine where the NetStream object is located on the timeline. This is compounded by the fact that the NetStream object does not have a name property.
I've tried methods like these, but they only work for the DisplayObject class:
