How to see iBooks from iPad on Mac Book?

Hello -- I have had an iPad for a long time and I have a whole bunch of iBooks on it. I now have a Mac Book with retina display, and I would like to read on my new Mac Book the same iBooks I currently have on my iPad. Most of them are math books and take a long time to read and the retina display will help save my eyes. That's all I really want to do -- get my collection of math books on to the new Mac Book Retina for better reading.
I turned on Home Sharing on both devices, and Home Sharing appears to have been successfully turned on on both devices. I don't really know how to check for sure because I don't have any music or movies in iTunes -- all I do is read iBooks and I don't see an iBooks icon in iTunes (there is a separate icon for iBooks on the iPad and that works great).  I don't see anything comparable to a top-level iBooks icon on the Mac Book -- maybe there is something. I also have iCloud, and I think it's on, but I don't know how to check that either. I don't really know the difference between home sharing and iCloud, and really don't know how to use either one of them. Lemme make it worse: I have SkyDrive, Dropbox, and Windows Live Mesh. I think I can really make my life a living **** trying to share info with all the possible ways to mess this up.
But let's stick with my iBooks collection, which works great on my non-retina iPad, and now I want them on my retina Mac Book. Any old way that works will work for me.
Really, I am totally lost   Would be most grateful for any clues, hints, directions, even grateful for rolling of your eyes at the noob as long as you give me a hint

To clarify -- all my math books are PDFs, freely downloaded from the internet with no DRM. I suppose I could go redownload them all on the Mac, but there are hundreds of them and it's taken me months & years to collect them. I suppose I could just start my life over on the Mac Book and forget the iPad.
Since the iBooks app doesn't tell me "where" the files are on the iPad, I don't really know how to "copy" them to some "place" where I can pick them up on the iMac, or "drag-drop" them to Dropbox or SkyDrive.

Connect the iPhone to the Mac using a USB cable, and then launch iPhoto, Photos, Image Capture, or Aperture, depending which applications you have installed. all can import from an iPhone.
Which MacOS X version do you have and which iOS version? With newer systems you can also use Photo Stream:   iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ

    Take a look at Reflector:

Note that it won't give you control of the iPad from the Mac. You'll still have to change pages, etc. from the iPad.

That's be use you can't send files from the iPad to the Mac over Bluetooth without a third party app. This feature is not native in iOS.
You can email files, use DropBox or another cloud sync service, or use iOS File Sharing with iTunes. - if the app that you are using supports file sharing. There are also apps that let you mount your iPad like a thumb drive that will allow you to move files back and forth by connecting the device to the USB a port with the provided cable or by using WiFi as well.
it helps if you state what files you want to move, what app you are using, etc....details, details....

  • How to move music from pc to mac book pro

I just bought a macbook pro for school. I have a large number of music files on my pc. I copied all the file to my mac book and then fired up itunes and scanned for media. It seems that itunes is making a second copy and putting them somewhere and my hard drive runs out of space. I guess I don't know how to work the macbook yet. Can someone giveme advise to get my macbook itunes to just recognize themusic files and import them to itunes?

There is a iTunes Library in your Music folder and yes iTunes is organizing them utilizing copies of your originals.
Since things are messed up and your just starting out, you can go ahead and click and drag the iTunes Library to the Trash can and from the Finder menu > Empty Trash.
Now place your PC music files on a external drive where there is enough room, (perhaps a copy is already there?)
Delete the copy of files from the PC drive if they are on your Mac's drive, this way you have enough room.
Your basically starting over again with one copy of the files on the external drive.
Now restart iTunes and it will create another iTunes Library blank as before, now head to the iTunes menu or import the music from the external drive.
Now it will copy them and organize them into folders according to artist/album get artwork, etc., with tags etc. provided your logged into iTunes and online into the iTunes Library.
Remmember with Mac's, just like Windows, you need ot unmount the drive first before physically disconnecting, with OS X you simply drag the external drive icon to the Trash can, which turns into a Eject button.
Or you can select the drive and press the eject key, or the eject arrow in the Finder window on the left side.

  • How to transfer photos from iPad to Mac?

How do I transfer photos from an iPad to my Mac?  How can I rearrange the photo order on the iPad?  Thanks.

For photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
If you want to change the order of photos that you synced to the iPad from your computer then you need to do it on your computer and then re-sync them : iPad photo sorting. Once the photos are in an album on the iPad you can't change their order.
You can also create new photo albums directly on the iPad if you have iOS 5+ on it via the Edit button at the top right of the album selection screen, and the photos that you copy into those albums (you can't move you can only copy) will be sorted by the order that you them into them i.e. if you add a new photo to the album then it should appear as the last one.

  • How do you transfer apps from iPad to mac book pro?

I need to upgrade to the ios5 on ipad I but it says I need to transfer the apps and I don't know how.

There are purchased items on the iPad “Laura Crowell’s iPad” that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPad.
This is the message I get...and I don't know how to transfer these to the iTunes library.  Perhaps this is my question??

  • Sync iBooks From iPAD to iPhone

Please follow the steps below to figure out how to Sync iBooks From iPAD to iPhone
Before Starting: Settings For Both Devices
    1. Settings > iBooks > Sync Collections > On
    Then...
    1. Sync iPAD with iTunes.
    2. File > Transfer Purchases From iPAD (this should transfer those books your purchased on your iPAD onto your iTunes)
    3. Un-sync iPAD from computer
    4. Sync iPhone
    5. Store > Purchased > Drag book(s) from the "Purchased folder" to your iPhone (this should transfer your book(s) from iTunes onto your iPhone)

No, this is not necessary or correct. It's not necessary to transfer to and from the iTunes library. When you sign into your iBooks account on each device you have iBooks installed in:
iBooks > Store > Purchased > shows everything you bought > download from there wirelessly.

  • How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only?

How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only, which have a different user with a separate Apple ID?

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

How to transfer movies from my Apple Mac to my ipad.?

Where are these movies? what format do they have?
You'll need to Import them into iTunes, and sync them through there if they aren't in itunes already.
Yoiu may need to convert them to a playable format for the iPad. If its a video format itunes support, you ncan make playable versions for iPad from within iPad.
Alternatively if you find a Video App such as Moli Player you can import them into the App through iTunes File sharing as well without having to change their format. Moli player is capable of playing many types of videos and audio formats.

Firstly, you can rely on iCloud or iTunes to recovery iPad data, such as recover deleted text messages, photos, notes, restore iPhone contacts, after all, it is free.
    1. Connect your iPad with iTune on computer
    2. Right-click or control-click on the iPad icon under iDevice on iTunes
    3. Select "Restore from Backup" from the given options
    4. After it finishs, your contacts are back to your iPhone
Important Note: This works only if you have made a backup for your data on iTunes.
In case that the iCloud or iTunes cannot help to make a iPad Data Recovery, you can turn to a third party tool.
