How to see if i'm using leopard or snowleopard?

Highlight/click once on the Macintosh HD folder, do a Get Info (File>Get Info or CMD-I) and look at version. Anything 10.6 is Snow; anything 10.5 is Leopard.

  • How to see OBIEE processes status using OPMN

    Hi All,
I installed obiee 11g on windows server 2003 64 bit, all my processes are up and running as I look into the Fusion middleware console. I was trying to see the status through OPMN. I tried access the opmn by going into the folder
    Middlewarehome\instances\instance1\bin
I double clicked opmnctl windows batch file but nothing comes on the screen. I don't see any black window coming up and showing me the status of all the obiee processes running, I notice that clicking opmnctl launches a black window but it goes away within seconds ?
Can anybody please tell me how to see my system components using opmnctl?
    Thanks,
    Ronny

    Hi,
Try to run CMD prompt and change the Drive to opmn and run the command like this,
    D:\Oracle\Middleware\instances\instance1\bin>opmnctl status

  • How to see all items in use

This should be a pretty simple problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to solve it.
I'm trying to empty two items out of the trash, but when I attempt to is says "the operation cannot be completed because the "each item" is in use." However, I closed both of these items quite awhile ago and they don't appear to be open anywhere.
So my question is, how can I access something to see all the items currently in use, and I assume I'd be able to close the items in this same menu?

First, press down the OPTION key and select Empty Trash. If that does not work then restart the computer then attempt to empty the Trash.
You can see all active processes using Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder and selecting All Processes from the Processes drop down menu. To kill an active process select the process then click on the Quit icon in the toolbar and click on the Force Quit button. Do not try this with any system processes as this could cause the system to crash.

  • How to see what processes are using my memory?

I recently added more RAM to my system and I always keep Activity Monitor running with the memory usage icon on the Dock to see how much Lion and my programs use.
I noticed that even several CS5 programs running at the same time won't use that much, the program I've seen uses the most is Aperture, using anywhere from 500MB on start to 2.5GB while viewing--not editing--photos.
My questions is, when my system is running normally it uses from a quarter to half the total memory available but just now it's using more than three quarters and it's running not even half programs I use everyday. I quickly added up the memory being used and it's just missing out A LOT. I'm adding a screenshot of Activity Monitor for you to see.
I now that restarting the system (or by using the purge command in Terminal) will free up memory but this really puzzles me and I'd really like to know what's happening--BTW, even though several GB are missing, the computer is nowhere nears slow, at least.
Where are all the other processes using the rest of the memory?
I'm using OS X 10.7.3 Server with 16GB of RAM on an iMac.
    Thanks for all your help,
    Gustavo.

You will never be able to get those numbers to add up.  This topic has come up before.  Examples:
    Memory used by unknown processes
    Where is my memory?
And others.  You cannot use the numbers in that display to add up.  Even doing top in terminal produces conflicting numbers.  Many process are dynamic and may be missed in these displays.
FWIW, here's an apple article on the Activity Monitor memory display:
Using Activity Monitor to read System Memory and determine how much RAM is being used
Editorial: In my opinion I do not recommend always running Activity Monitor (or top).  The constant poling and display does have some affect on performance and cpu utilization.  That's why it always usually appears near the top of the process list when sorted by percent cpu unless really outweighed by something much bigger.

  • How to see Design View when using ?php require("header.htm"); ?

    Hello
I'm new to DW CS4 and have what's probably a simple question, but I can't figure it out.  I have a basic html website in which I'm using php require to call  header.htm and footer.htm files.  In CS4, when I open any page in the Design or Split view, it displays the header.htm file.  The only way I have been able to view the content of the page is to delete the php require code in Code View.  I then edit the page after which I have to paste the require code for the header.htm file back in before saving.
Is there an easy fix for this?
    Many Thanks!

Thanks for your response.  All of my pages are php pages in which I use the php require command to display a header and footer.  In CS4, when I open any page from my site in Design or Split view, all I can see is the header.htm file.  I cannot see any of the content from that particular page.  I have to go into code view and delete the <?php require("header.htm"); ?> from the code.  The I can view and edit that page's content after which I have to paste the <?php require("header.htm"); ?> command back in and load the saved file to the server.  A royal pain in the butt.

  • How to see full conent when using jdb

I am using jdb to debug some corruptted char array. When I dump one buffer object that contains char array, I can not view full content since it is too long. Is there a way I can save to this content to a file? Or is there another way to look at full message?
    Thanks a lot.

  • How do see what lens I used?

I was doing a photo shoot and used many lenses but now as I am going through the pictures a few weeks later I cannot remember which pictures were with which lens. How can I get Aperture to tell me what lens I had on the camera? I know it's in the metadata somewhere....

To reply to Barry and expand the discussion about a feature I feel is useful and should be included....
Nikon Capture includes a lot of data in the EXIF, including (yes) the exact name of the lens (AF and AF-D are differenciated). I don't own any lens without a cpu but I can venture a guess that since they don't have a CPU they cannot tell the body who they are... ect...
Now the problem with Aperture finding this info is that I'm not sure whether Nikon gives access to all the EXIF to anyone, via an API. If indeed Nikon withold some fields, some other software companies have reverse-engineering it. that part is unclear to me.
Currently my method is to keep an eye for the EXIF field called 'Maximum Lens Aperture'. The info is often wrong (ex: f/3 instead of f2.8), but still telltale enough!!!
In general I agree that I would like aperture have the same kind of info Capture has, and intend to lobby Nikon for this to happen.
At present I'm not very happy about Nikon being a software company because there is a conflict of interest for my own use.... but that's life

  • I am using Leopard but need  Mountain Lion for the Mac App Store.  How do I get Snow Leopard to be able to upgrade to Mountain Lion?

I am currently using Leopard but need Snow Leopard to be able to get Mountain Lion. I can see this is no longer available from Apple.  How would I get it so I could then get Mountain Lion. I want the Logic 9 Mac App Store App as I don't want to have to buy the whole Logc 9 from Studio 8.
Some help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Adam

    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
If you need to purchase Snow Leopard contact Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service. The price is $29.00 plus tax. You will receive physical media - DVD - by mail.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
If you need to purchase Lion contact Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • How to see other events that have clips used in project and not just reference event for a project

In 10.0.9 if you selected a project and then looked at info tab in the inspector you could see the reference event and all events that had used clips in the project. In 10.1 you only see the reference event. So how do you see other events in the library that the project uses clips from?

I see. Yes, that probably should be improved. They removed the function that displayed the used events.
Open the project. Select the library. In the browser in list view, which shows the events in order, select everything. Press right-arrow to open the disclosure triangles. Scroll the list to see what's marked used where. Not great.

After burning a successful DVD in iDVD out of FCPX, how can I see the settings it used?
So I finally burned a DVD out of a Apple Pro Res file into iDVD in PAL format. My question now is how can I find out what the exact burn properties were so that I can apply the same burn properties to a project in Compressor 4?
Is it possible to see what iDVD did?

I don't know any way you can interrogate iDVD to reveal settings to the extent that you can in a Compressor project. What you could do is open up the show's VOB in MPEG STreamclip, go to File and Reveal Stream Information; that will at least give you some rudimentary info like average bit rate. Perhaps someone, with more iDVD experience, can chime in here.
The broader question is why use Compressor at all if your current workflow is doing the job to your satisfaction?
The value of Compressor is that it gives you control over the many parameters that affect size quality.  and playability. The Compressor presets can give you a starting point for DVD delivery, Web, etc. From those presets, people typically experiment by adjusting the parameters until they get the desired results for their specific show. It's a little bit science and a little bit art. After experimenting, you may be able to get slightly better quality for the project you've successfully burned in iDVD by using Compressor and something likeToast…or maybe not.
    Good luck.

how do I add a yahoo search field to my toolbar so I can always see it?  It used to be there until a month ago and now is gone.

If you either updated to Mountain Lion or updated to Safari 6 under Lion then there is a unified URL address bar with the search. I personally don't like it either.
