How to See logs for custom programs from without the logviewer in NWA

The JavaAS developers want to see the logs for their custom programs from without the logviewer in NWA.
Do you have any experience or know of any reference materials to instruct them on where to write their logs, and how to configure NWA to see them?

Your developers should familiarize themselves with the Logging Framework of the J2EE Engine.

If they use the Logging Framework you would be able to access the logs through NWA.

Via NWA I am not sure it is possible without logviewer, but via Portal you can if you are able to create an application with help of NWDS which will read log from OS level (need to provide path for default trace in your application) show on frontend.
Then deploy this on portal.

Right now i'm using tail -500 alert_db.log>alert.txt then view the whole thing. But is there any easier way to see for a partiicular date or time

How to see output of a program again, without running again?

I have run a report that updates tables and shows the output, I ran the report and on the output screen I accidently pressed ESC key so it went back to selection screen. Is there any way to go back to the output screen without running the program again?

There is a yes and no answer for it.
Out of the box the answer is no.
If however, the report program developer, exported the report to memory explicitly and the developer has provided you with an option via selection-screen to retrieve it from memory and display it then yes you could retrieve it. Alternative, the ouptut could have also been spawned to a spool which you could have displayed via SP01.

How to see TC for any program

If i hav a program name how can i see the associated Transaction code.

enter TSTC table name

then you can find the T-code associated with that program

Can you please verify whether user has
read/write/delete/append/create directory rights as an FTP user for
the FTP home directory. If not give the same and try creating the
connection.

Change Log for Custom fields

Hi All,
I need the change log for custom fields added in BP transaction codes.
Basically, for tracking the changes of master data in CDHDR and CDPOS tables we will enable the checkbox of dataelement related to custom field.
As for SAP fields in BP transaction code the change history is reflecting in CDHDR/CDPOS tables. i have enabled that for custom fields added to BP transaction code but i could not see the change history for such fields.
Please let us know if iam missing any other thing?

There are some settings need to be done by BASIS
and some settings and entries should be made in SCOD t-code
create entriy for change document here..

We have tried changing the value of bUsageMeasurement (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\(product name)\(version)\FeatureLockdown) to zero, but it did not help.

Best practices on how to implement logging in custom application

In the Enterprise Manager it is possible to display/browse the content of different log files generated by the application server modules.
I have some custom web applications which currently use the log4j framework to write to log files. Is it possible to make these log files accesible for the Enterprise Manager ?
Or what is the best practice on how to implement logging in custom applications which can be browsed in the Enterprise Manager (I do not want to use system.out)

I thought that this could be done. An ex- colleague did this - but he didn't tell me how to solve this.
But as it just took 10 minutes to solve this I believe it's fairly easy.

Delta Replication for Customizing object from ECC- CRM

I need help on delta replication activate for customizing objects from ECC to CRM. I finished with initial load with product replication and everything worked weel. The problem is that product hierarchy continuely changing in ECC everyday, so the delta for the products error out due to incorrect product heirarchy in CRM becuase the delta is not working for DNL_CUST_PROD0, and DNL_CUST_PROD1. Please show me how to activate the delta for those DNL. What business transaction do I need for those so the delta will work for them too? Rewards points if helpful

I think you need to do Request downlaod for the Product Hirearchy when ever there is new one created in ECC.You can do request downlaod by creating the object using R3AR2. Exeute the object though R3AR4 and monitor the status using R3AR3.

I would check, but I believe I have read that the calendar only lets you search back in the current year. You might find additional information about that in the User Guide. http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
What happens if you go back to a month in 2013, do you see a date with any events in it? I'm not saying the calendar is deleting data, just that you cannot search earlier than the current year.

1. You can see the deployed application under the "Portal Applications"
2. If you want to create an iView out of it. right click on the application -> copy. than press right click in the folder you want the iView will be created and paste ad pcd object.
