Hey @Antonnew ,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're having some issues with the webcam on your Pavilion x2 notebook.
You should see a preview of your photo before you take it. Which program are you using to take the pictures? If you're not using the CyberLink YouCam software please try that.
Also, are you using the rear facing camera or the front facing camera? Is it the same issues with both?
Thanks!

  • IE9, Win7: How to get rid of "What do you want to do with ...doc? Open, Save, Save as

My web application downloads a .doc file.  With IE9 and Windows 7 it displays the dialog "What do you want to do with xxxx.doc? Open, Save, Save as"  Prior to IE9 I could check the box that said "remember" but with IE9 I do not see a way to prevent
the dialog from occurring every time.  How can I turn off this dialog like I can in all prior versions of IE?  I have looked through the forums and the answer might be here but most threads seem to be a little different problem.  Some of my
customers are switching to FireFox and Chrome because of this problem so I would like to find a solution.  I found another thread that had a potential solution (1. Click Tools - Internet Options - Security Tab. 2. Click Local intranet, click Sites, uncheck
"Automatically detect intranet network" if you checked it. Then check "Include all network paths (UNCs)".  Click Advanced, add the intranet to the zone. Then Close and OK.) but that did not solve my problem.

    Hi,
Based my research, due to increasing in security, we cannot disable Download Manager of Internet Explorer 9 from changing settings, editing registry keys or editing settings in Group Policy. This can prevent websites downloading automatically. Instead, we can
    set default download location.

I cracked my screen. I want to use other monitor which I had one. I bought an Apple Mini-DP to VGA adapter. It worked. It means I can see ADDITIONAL screen. However I want to use this monitor for the main screen. How can I do?? Please help.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the monitor. In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the monitor and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the monitor your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.

    Hi,
Does anyone know how sites like google know what country you are browsing from and automatically forwards you to the local country site? I would like to do something similar with an ApEx application I am writing, showing country-specific things without prompting the user for their country.
    Thanks,

Google for keywords like geolocation IP address
    See

Read all the comments people have written for that article, they are very informative.

How do you specify what format you want the song to download in?

In preferences set up your import settings, then right click on the tracks you need in a different format and use Create < Format> Version. New copies will be created in the target format.

And as is often the case with Apple, there's more than one way to do it. Another way to accomplish this is to download a copy of MPEG Streamclip as relayed by longtime iMovie Discussion Group participantAppleMan1958
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15808352#15808352
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
    Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.

  • Need advice: slight defect on new Imac screen, what would you do?

I just got new Imac from apple online store and I noticed that there is a small defect in screen. It is about 1/4 or just a bit smaller inch line that looks like hair. I am not too pleased about it. What would you do?
ps, i had this shipped from online store, so do I take it back to apple for new one since still within 14 days. Not sure how it works if you purchased online.
    thanks

I would ring them up - if you bought it online I'm not sure if you can return it to a store, although if it's one that they sell in store you might. I changed the spec on mine so couldn't return to a store when I had a problem and got it replaced. They'll send a new one out express delivery and arrange for a courier to pick the old one up. I managed to arrange it so the new one arrived the same day as they picked up the old one.

  • Tell us here what changes you want to see in the SpeedGrade forum.

Welcome to the new SpeedGrade user-to-user forum.
We're just getting started here, so there are very likely things that we'll need to add or change to make this forum as useful as it can be for you. Let us know what changes you'd like to see.
Content from the previous IRIDAS SpeedGrade forum has not been ported to this new forum.
If there is content from that forum that you would like to see made available, let us know, and we'll see what we can do.

I think we need subsections for the "old" legacy products, pretty much like the old forum was organized.
I understand that this forum is now the official end user forum, right?
We are also interested in seeing a beta forum as well (as we currently see it with other Adobe apps) so we can participate there as well. Please take notice
I am sure that is a LOT of useful information in the old forums. Maybe there is a way of having that old content get consolidated in terms of digest PDF for "new" users to use search within. I don't think it makes a lot of sense to let one dig through thousands of text entries manually to find the useful information, especially as much of this changed over time as "work in progress". Tipps from 2 years ago may be completely useless now with newer tools, and so on. So I vote for pumping out the old content into a PDF or something, so we have that all "at hand". Honestly, as we long term users didn't know of the deal before it happened, all that information was apparently gone before we could "safe it" for our own purposes. Thats what I am looking for right now.
That PDF could be linked in a sticky closed thread like "IRIDAS User Forum content until September 2011" or similar. Just an idea.
    Good luck with the forum!
    Cheers,
    Axel

  • Homesite Future - What would you want changed?

There have been threads debating whether HomeSite was
orphaned or whether it would be upgraded or not. Since none of us
know, those are mainly ways we've all been expressing our
    frustration.
Someone pointed out to me recently how useful HomeSite is
even now "as it is" (which I knew of course), but he also
enumerated some good arguments why there might not be much demand
for HomeSite to be upgraded. If fact he has trouble sometimes
convincing people to upgrade from HS 4.5, even when they already
have HS 5.5+ on a DW CD. While I disagree on some of his arguments,
he has a good point that
putting development resources into doing an upgrade only makes
sense for Adobe if there are compelling enough reasons for users to
pay to buy the new version.
Anyway, I have no idea if this is how Adobe is thinking, or
really what they are thinking at all, but I thought I'd start a
thread to see what you all think on this question.
What updates, features or fixes to HomeSite would you be most
    interested in?
(to the point of being willing to pay for an upgrade,
    assuming cost is reasonable)
Or some more detailed rephrasings that might jog your mind:
    - What things would you be willing to pay (a reasonable amt) to
    upgrade to get?
    - Or what things would make you look elsewhere because they
    aren't in HomeSite?
    - What bugs or things about HS drive you nuts?
    - What do you need/want to do in HomeSite that can't be done
    using it's extensions?
So, anyone willing to put some thought into it? Please be
honest, not just posting little gripes, or things that would be
nice, but that you wouldn't be willing to shell out some $ for.
(you can post those things too, but please note which are which.)
And let's keep the scope here on this, not on the broader
arguments about whether Adobe will or should do patches or upgrades
or whether their dogs have fleas. We can use other threads for
    that. ok? ;-)
    thanks!!
    jeff
p.s. No, this isn't Adobe's way of doing a user survey on the
cheap, it's just me posting to see what you all care about.
If it gives them motivation to do something - great, but this
is for us to talk together about what you think really *needs*
    improvement in HS.

The most important change for me would be the capability to
    use Unicode.
Neither editor I use (HS and Topstyle) support Unicode. The
    first to do
this will draw many users from the other. This lack of
    Unicode is a
    major stumbling block to me.

  • How do I get rid of 'Do you want to allow the following program..."?

I have recently installed Windows 7 on a new computer and have also installed Dreamweaver MX.
Whenever I open Dreamweaver, it comes up with an annoying message "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"
My question is this - how can I get Windows 7 to recognise Dreamweaver MX so that this message does NOT come up anymore?
Or do I have to upgrade my Dreamweaver to the latest version (probably quite expensive).
To see a screenshot of a similar message, see this thread:

    Thank you

    Thank you
As Murray stated, it's been about 8 years.  Adobe only allows you to upgrade from the previous 3 versions.  Right now they are on CS5 (11) which means you can upgrade from Dreamweaver 8 which is 2 versions after yours.  So you would have to buy the full version again.  Buying the upgrade is no longer an option.

  • What might you want to put in an InterruptedException catch?

The purpose of this post is to clarify
    A) the operation of InterruptedExceptions, and
    B) the purpose of InterruptedExceptions
So, tell me if I'm off on this:
Suppose you have this thread that goes to sleep. It's interrupted. When it comes to (i.e. no longer interrupted and gets thread priority), the code in the catch for the InterruptedException is run.
SO, my question is, what would you put in the catch? Would you use it to reestablish lost connections or find things that might have moved, or, knowing the source of the interruption, take it as some kind of crude kludgy communication ...???
What is supposed to go in there? I've been blithely putting blank catches in like so -
    try {
      Thread.currentThread.sleep(4000);
} catch (InterruptedException ie) {;}and I just want to make sure that this is not skipping out on something important.

and I just want to make sure that this is not skipping
out on something important. The only thing I can think that should go in there is a comment that explicitly says you are ignoring the exception. It might also help to say why you are ignoring it. That way if someone needs to fix your code in the future they will realize that you actually knew how to code defensively and you knew the conditions for that exception could be safely ignored.

  • How do I get rid of "do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer"?

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and every time I open a PDF file that is stored on my computer, I get a pop-up that asks "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?".  How do I get rid of this?  I don't want to change my security settings, I just want to open pdf's without having to go through this step.
    I'm using Windows 7.

Thanks for that good idea.  I checked the "properties" by right clicking on the AA8 icon and under "compatability" I noticed it had Windows XP (Service Pack 3).  Since I'm running Windows 7, I changed it to that and now I don't get that annoying pop-up!

  • Deep-dive on the #RetroThinkPad - what do you want under the hood?

Your say is needed, more than ever. Let us know what you want.

I don't know that there is a "better" place to post this question since you seem to be wide open to possibilities. I think an iMac would be a good choice. It already is a CD/DVD player & you can access internet radio through iTunes. For over-the-air (OTA) radio you could get the Griffin Radio Shark. For OTA TV, Elgato gets high praise. Formac also has some options, but they tend to be more expensive.

  • I downloaded lion no problem, installed no problem , but what if you want re install osx leopard , will you have to pay for it again, i can't find the download

How can you recover the download

Nobody is answering - I think you meant "How can I recover/save/reinstall Lion" if I need to.
Couple things: always keep backups, and include a bootable (clone) backup.
There are articles on Lion Recovery and to install Lion to another drive; to save the installer; to burn a DVD with Lion; and, to maintain and keep Snow Leopard (OP said Leo but I would HOPE everyone knew their intended OS was SL and not just plain olde 10.5 Leo). You had to have SL DVD to even buy Lion.
How to create an OS X Lion installation disc MacFixIt
How to keep Snow Leopard when upgrading to Lion
OS X Lion Install to Different Drive
Upgrading to Mac OS X Lion Protocol
Using Cloning as a Backup Strategy
So backup. Then you can either upgrade, or do a clean install too (and make sure to save the Lion DMG before you do the Install w/ restart as it will get deleted and removed from your system unfortunately - wish like iTunes it would ask "Do you want to save to DVD now?"
