How to see pics from my USB on my Mac?

I have copied some of my pics from my Windows based Laptop onto my USB(Intenso), and want to copy / save them to my Mac and view them there!
I have tried to open it with iPhoto, I couldnt. I have openoffice on my Mac, but openoffice "text" opens automatically if I want to view those pics on my USB but not the one for "photos"!
Does anyone know, how to use openoffice / iPhoto to open / view & save pics on to a Mac with pics originally caming from a Windows based system!

Thanks for the question and detailed information. If your backup drive (in your example, drive A) included the iTunes Library files, you can open the library by following these steps:

Under Windows, the USB stik should turn up as a removable drive. You can use Windows (or Files) Explorer to copy files around like any drive.

Plug the stick and/or card into the appropriate slots on the side of your Air. Do you see icons for the devices appear on the desktop? Click into them to see what files are there.

How to Transfer photos from HTC memory to PC
1) From the phone: select: Menu>settings>connect to pc>as disk
2) Attach phone to pc with usb cable
3) From pc open: Computer>removable disk F>dcim>100media
Note: you can also pull the mini sd card out of you phone and plug that directly into your computer. just make sure to unmount the disk through your settings options before you remove it from the phone.
