How to see rented movies

I'm running the latest ATV software.
I rented a movie (state of play) last week but hadn't watched it yet. Yesterday I also rented another movie (Moon) to watch later as well. I wanted to avoid any slow streaming issues and get them downloaded prior to watching them.
So now I want to watch the first movie, but I can't see it anywhere. I can see the second movie (Moon) in the bar of films along the top of the menu screen when I go into movies, and it tells me I have 29 days left. But I can't find any way of seeing State of Play. Why is there no rent movie list in the menu? Can anyone help?
Thanks

I had not watched it, only downloaded it last week so it has not reached its 30 day limit. I was going to watch it this evening, but it has disappeared from ATV after I downloaded the second movie. Can ATV only hold one rental at a time?
I have contacted Apple and they say the film is waiting to be downloaded, but I'm not clear how to redownload it yet.
It seems strange that there isn't a 'rented' category in the movies menu rather than having the rented films floating above the menus.

Movies downloading to the Apple TV will start when enough of the file has been downloaded to ensure the movie can play in its entirety without stopping.

  • How to get rented movie from iphone to computer?

    hello,
thanks for taking the time to look at my post. I'm trying to figure out how to get a rented movie from my phone to my computer. when I plug my phone in to sync...and go to rented movies...the movie is listed there, but is grayed out.
    any help would be appreciated.
    thanks,

Sorry, but Johnathan's answer is not correct. You can easily move your rented movie from your iPhone back to your Mac.
    1) Connect your iPhone to your Mac and open iTunes.
    2) Click on the the icon for the iPhone.
    3) Click on the tab marked Video.
You will see a list of rented movies on your Mac and another list of rented movies on your iPhone. Each movie will have an arrow marked "Move" next to it pointing to the other device.
    4) Click on the arrow marked "Move" to transfer the rented movie from your iPhone back to your Mac.
    5) Click the "Apply" button at the bottom right hand of your screen on iTunes. Your iPhone will then sync and the rented movie will move to your Mac.
You must be connected to the internet to make this work, as iTunes will connect to the iTunes Store to validate the transfer.

  • How can I rent movies?

I downloaded the new version of iTunes, and I saw a glimpse of a feature called movie renting in the new features list. There is a guide in the manual how to rent movies. But I don't see any movies to rent in iTunes Store. So how can I rent a movie? I live in Finland.

At the moment rentals are only available in the US. The announcement concerning Movie rentals was that they plan to roll them out to other stores later this year. However it's worth remembering that the plan that was announced when the purchased Movies were first introduced in the US was to roll them out to other stores sometime in 2007 which obviously didn't happen. When it will actually happen will obviously depend on film companies and other copyright holders. These are quite often completely different from country to country and therefore all require their own individual contract negotiations.

  • How to download rented movie to Apple TV

Does anyone have an issue with Apple TV not downloading movies. .. I just rented a movie, " download  to watch later" option.. And now when I try to watch it I'm told to go to settings and select download....Problem is there is no " download" option in settings, or am I missing something. ?

Yes Me Too, I just rented Ireon Man3 and it stopped about 2/3 the way through. Now I get the same messages as above. " You have already rented movie,  Check for downloads. But there is no option to check for downloads,
I  sure I use see available Rented movies on the Home screen. But perhaps I misremember. They are not there now or anywhere.

  • Exactly How To Sync Rented Movies to iPod 3rd Generation Nano?

I've been looking all around these boards for over an hour and there are definitely topics about the rental movies and the different iPods they will sync with etc etc... I'm having the same troubles a lot of others are, like my rented movies won't show up in the Movies tab. I even dragged the picture of the rented movie to my iPod icon but only the picture moves and nothing else.
*So please, I just need a step by step account of how to sync the movies I rent from iTunes to my 3rd generation iPod nano.* Thank you in advance.

You can't.  iCloud is only compatible with iOS devices running iOS 5 or later.

  • How to share rented movies between devices

I have just downloaded some rented movies on my iMac and would like to transfer them to Airbook for a trip away.  What is the best way of doing this?

Sorry, but unless something's changed recently that I've missed, you cannot transfer a rented movie from one computer to another. You can only transfer a rental to an appropriate model of iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. If you want the rented movie on your MacBook Air, you'll probably have to rent the movie again from the MBA.
    Regards.

  • How to get rented movie from PC to iPad

I had a problem with a rented movie.....when I go to it on my iPad it won't let me play it then when I go to the little cloud underneath the play button it tells me to that the movie is rented but not downloaded.....where do I go on my iPad to manage downloads?  Then it downloaded on my computer and now I can't get it over to my iPad
    Please help

Unfortunately, rented movies cannot be transferred from the device onto which they were downloaded.
If you wish to watch it on your iPad, I would recommend using the "Report a Problem" link on your iTunes Store invoice. Apple will then, hopefully, make the rental available to you again for download within a day or two. It is worth making sure that you have sufficient storage space available on your iPad for the movie, and note that you will need a WiFi connection to download it.
Sorry I don't have more positive news for you!

  • How to remove rented Movies

I can't seem to remove a rented movie that I've watched. It usually just removes itself after the time period but it's still displaying on my ipod touch as "invalid"...any suggestions

While in your in the video app (where you can find the Movies, PodCasts, TV Shows) tap and hold rental for 3 seconds or so and then tap the little red "X" when it pops up.
    Hope this helps

  • How to delete rented movie link

I rented a movie from iTunes, but after it expired the cloud icon still appears in Video on iPad air, I can hide it but I want get rid of it!
    Thank you.
    Phil

    HERE'S A SOLUTION:
I just got off of the phone with Apple Tech Support. It seems that there is a toggle setting under Videos, which when turned on (green), instructs one's iPad to show all rented movies, whether expired, watched, or not. Simply switching the toggle to off is step 1. Once that's done, return to the Video > Rentals screen, and click on the Edit button in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Once that's done, an "X" will appear in the corner of each movie icon. Press the "x" on the movie(s) you wish to delete, and that's it.
Why on earth Apple made this process so absurdly complicated, after being able to simply hold down the particular movie icon in earlier releases, I have no idea. But this solves it. Hope it helps.

  • Anyone know how to reliably rent movies on iPad?

I'd like to be able to rent a movie on the iPad and watch it on the iPad.  Seems straightforward but the following two scenarios happen way too often for me:
Rent the movie and it downloads.  Then while on a plane (travel a lot for work) I tap on the movie, movie pops up, and then the app crashes.  No movie.  Purchased/downloaded movies play just fine, just not the rental I rented for this 10 hour flight.  Rental seems to work if I get back on WiFi but of course that's not always an option while I'm at 30,000 feet.
Attempt to download a rental.  I rent the movie, enter my credentials, the movie downloads for 20 minutes, and then it gets to processing.  Processing fails, and then the movie is stuck in a weird limbo state where it doesn't show up in downloads, shows up as a gray square in my Videos> Rentals, and when I try to download/watch it says "You rented this but it download, go to your downloads section" which doesn't exist.
So does anyone have a bullet proof method to fix these issues that doesn't involve Apple?  I try logging out of the store and iCloud in settings, restarting the iPad, but that doesn't do it. Usually I end up contacting Apple support and they sometimes can reset something on their end, but they don't always know how to do that.  And here I am about to get on a plane in 5 hours with the same issue. Pretty frustrating.
    Thanks

Never mind. It was under audio calls. Silly!

  • How to stop rented movie to download

Rented a movie.   Not enough space on ipad for it...  Used apple tv insted... But cant stop the download on ipap...   So now ipad memory is blocked for the movie...    Need help to cancel the rent/download on the movie....

I tried a test to see if I could stop a movie download, and I was able to do so.
From the store, under downloads in progress, it shows a 1 in red with an arrow.  I tap on that and it shows the video in progress.   In the bar above it shows EDIT.    Tap on EDIT.   It now shows a circle and if I tap that it gives me the option to cancel.   It then shows a confirmation to delete the download in progress.
See if that works and holler back...
