How to see the captured video clips in finder?

The project file is like a folder, where the capture video clips are inside, but how to open the folder to use captured clips in Final Cut Express?

Thanks!
I found another way too, to do it: ctrl + click the project icon and choose from the menu "Show package content" which opens the folder that looks similar to earlier iMovie folders with Media and cache folders.

  • How to remove the iPhoto video clips from the iMovie Event Library

    Hi,
    The new iMovie took a couple of hours to index my iPhoto video clips. That didn't bother me so much as I have 2564 video clips in my iPhoto library.
    However, when I launch iMovie, it now takes approximately 30 minutes to be ready for use.
    Is there anyway to de-register the iPhoto video clips in iMovie?
    I'll switch to only importing the clips I want to work with as iMovie does not appear to be written to handle a large quantity of video clips efficiently (for the G5 cpu anyway).
    Perhaps if when selecting "iPhoto Videos" in the Event Library, it would first show the video clips divided into Events as with the new iPhoto approach. Would surely be quicker to scroll through. Scrolling through the video clips is far to slow.
    iMovie won't even playback the video clips without pausing every couple of seconds. My iPhoto library lives on my internal drive.
    Regards, Tony.

  • How to see when a video clip was shot?

    I imported a couple of projects from iMovie HD. iMovie HD would usefully show the date a clip was taken.
    (There's "Playhead Info", but that shows the date of import - today!
    I have all these old movie clips with no way to see when the video was shot. Where can I see a clip's date in '08?

    Correction to original post: the Playhead Info doesn't show the date imported into iMovie 08, it shows the date imported from the camera into iMovie HD. Still completely useless!
    I swear iMovie HD showed the date & time the footage was shot.
    Oddly, I have one movie event showing the correct date, shot in 2000. All the other videos from 2004-2006 show 2007 as the date! I have no idea what is different about the two unless I used an even older iMovie to originally read the 2000 footage from tape.
    I still have the tapes so I can try importing one of the 2004 tapes into '08 to see if it gets the date correct.

  • How to see the whole file names in finder column view?

    Hi guys,
    I like to use finder in column view. However, most of the times, the file names get trunked and I have to redim the column to see the whole names. Other day, without wanting to, I must have pressed some key combination, and the column got redim automatically, so I could read the whole file names. So, my question is if does anybody know how to achieve this?

    I don't know what "redim" means, but if you double-click the column separator, it becomes wide enough for the longest name. If you Option-double-click it, all columns become wide enough for the longest name in each column.

    What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
    This sounds like a split screen effect to me.
    If so, one view on Video 1 and the other directly above that is the other view on Video 2.
    Then crop each so that each occupies 1/2 the Edit area monitor screen.
    (generalized since I do not know your program version, see effects Transform/Crop).
    I wrote the following in 2011 for a Premiere Elements 8 user in another forum
    Your basic tools to achieve your goal are Crop Video Effect and Horizontal Flip Video Effect.
    Video ONE on video track 1.
    Video TWO on video track 2, directly above Video ONE.
    Highlight Video ONE on video track 1, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop, followed by adjusting the crop under Edit Effects (see bottom of Effects Panel) so that Video ONE occupies the left half of the screen.
    Do the same for Video TWO on video track 2, Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Crop etc. so that Video TWO occupies the right half of the screen. BUT end with Edit Mode/Effects/Video Effects/Transform/Horizontal Flip.
    Highlight the video on either side to make adjusts in the Properties Palette and appropriate Panel (position, cropping, etc). But, remember that if you make changes in the "flipped" right side of the screen, Edit Effects/Crop Panel right option will be for left and left option will be for right.
    You may or may not need the "flip" part of the effect.
    Please review and consider. If I have misinterpreted your question, please let me know with details and I will rethink what you seek.
    Thanks.

    Try forcing iPhoto to load the Library on the External Hard drive by launching it while holding down the Option key. Choose the Library on the External HD, and quit iPhoto, see if iMovie can see the Library with the iPhoto Videos contained inside.

  • How can I capture video clips from you tube or my own DVD's

    How can I capture video clips from my own DVD's or You Tube type of media, I am trying to create a presentation using Key Note

    As long as you are using the clips with copyright permission (the organisation I work for has this for some distributers) try Wondershare (I am sure other converters are available). You can install an extension for Safari (I use FastestTube 2.2.9.3) to download from YouTube. However, please be aware that you could be breaking copyright laws when so doing.

    Have them install Quicktime on their PC's from Apple's website, that's the easiest fix.

    How do I get home video clips from iMovie Mac to iMovie iPad?  Surely there is some degree of cross-compatibility?  I have a load of clips in iMovie on my MBP that I wanna download to my iPad2 so that I can edit movies on the move.  Any ideas?  (The clips are in a .mov format, they have been imported / converted into this format in iMovie, original files were from a JVC camcorder in some other strange format.)

    I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places.  I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file.  There must be something else that's missing.  My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive.  If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
    My back-up drive is a mess.  I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={  Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period.  I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive.  Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me).  As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

  • How do I save my video clips/events to an external hard drive with the newest version of iMovie?

    I used to be able to drag the video clips in to my external hard drive once importing them with the older version of iMovie.  Now I'm unable to do so with the newest version.  How do I backup my video clips with the newest version of iMovie?

    Hello tronsonation,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    If you want to be using an external hard drive to store your iMovie data, then all you need to do is move your iMovie library to the external drive.  To learn more about this, please review the information in the link below.
    Move your iMovie for Mac (2014) library - Apple Support

  • How do I insert a video clip into the timeline?

    Do you happen to know how I could insert a video clip into the middle of a movie like you do in FCP? Can you add tracks and insert the clip above the spot i need to change for each movie.
    I don't want to render the whole movie (convert it into a MPeg2) each time.

    No - DVD timelines are a little different to FCP. If you need to add a clip to the stream, you need to split the exisitng clip (you could trim it back to where you want to insert the new piece) and drag the new piece onto the same timeline. If you trimmed the existing piece then add another instance of it to the timeline and trim the new part from the left until you get to what you want as the out point.
    If you have a collection of video clips on your DVDSP timeline, simply dragging a new one on will shuffle the others along appropriately. However, the audio will not shuffle with them, and you'll end up moving it all manually.
    The very best thing is to create the timeline precisely as you want it in FCP and encode it to MPEG2 before bringing it in to DVDSP. Remember that DVDSP is not an editor, it is a place to assemble your work - it won't do anything remotely like FCP in that respect.

  • How do I add a video clip after my music?

    Its sort of a wierd question but basically to me imovie09 is a bust since i cant really see a real timeline to edit my project. But what im trying to do is after i edited my video and the song i have ends i want to add another clip after the song but without the song playing. Everytime i add a clip it either goes to the top of my project or just adds it to the song. basically what im tryign to ask is, how do i add a clip after a song?

    Lurkai wrote:
    ohh ok, so what i need to do is detach the audio and it will become that thin green strip at the bottom of the clips is what you are saying?
    you don't like tutorials, don't you?
    where does the audio come from?
    if you ADD audio/music/voice over to a project, there are TWO options.
    #1:
    you drag it into the (grey) background of your Project - and it becomes a background track with its own 'behaviour': it will try to background the WHOLE Project as much as possible. as long there's audio left, any added video/still will lengthen the audio.
    #2:
    drag audio ONTO a clip .... it gets connected PLUS it offers the usual options any clip offers; copy/pasting, cutting, fading, effects. here, I added a fade and the last video-clip is audio-less.
    safey?

  • How to stop the capture source of AudioVideoCaptureDevice

    Hi. I capture video with the AudioVideoCaptureDevice API and I'm not sure if I followed the right steps to implement it. If I record a video for the first time everything works in the emulator but when I tap the record button for the second
    time the app crash. I think it's because I have to disconnect the file stream from the capture source but I can't because passed an instance of  AudioVideoCaptureDevice as the source of the video recorder brush. Here's my code + - in the order of
    execution:
    private async Task InitializeVideoRecorder()
    try
    if (vcDevice != null)
    vcDevice = null;
    CameraSensorLocation location = CameraSensorLocation.Back;
    captureResolutions =

    vcDevice = await AudioVideoCaptureDevice.OpenAsync(location, captureResolutions[0]);
    vcDevice.RecordingFailed += OnCaptureFailed;
    vcDevice.VideoEncodingFormat = CameraCaptureVideoFormat.H264;
    vcDevice.AudioEncodingFormat = CameraCaptureAudioFormat.Aac;
    // Initialize the camera if it exists on the phone.

    InitializeVideoRecorder() is called in OnNavigatedTo the when I tap the record button StartVideoRecording() is then called like wise StopVideoRecording() and when I tap the record button( or call StartVideoRecording) for the second time an error
    is thrown. What am I missing? (I bet it's something to do with how I implemented the capture source.) Thaanks in advance.

    Thank you that answer is very helpful. I got the recording to work and it's playing the video back too, however, when I record for the second time and tries to playback that file the screen is just black. Can you kindly take a look at my methods

    I'm using StorageFile to create the file to save the video to. I think my Stop and Start Video Recording logic is causing ether the video not to write to the file the second time or something else. If you can see something that's not right kindly tell me. Thank
    you in advance.

  • How to upload and capture videos?

    How do I upload videos to edit? How do I use the capture video option?
    I'm a beginner so I don't know how to do much but I'll learn on the way. Any other tips / stuff I should know?

    See this (a search on the premiere forums for FRAPS):
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?127@@.3bbe4d6a
    One poster suggested you can simply set FRAPS to export DV AVI Type 2 - the file/codec format that PPro likes best. But your frame size will be an issue. If you are eventually going to DVD, you want to plan all that from the beginning.
    FRAPS can be complicated, as you will see in the posts I linked you to.
    Once you have your FRAPS file in an appropriate format, you just import it to PPro. (Go to the help file and look for import; you are not capturing.) You need your PPro project set to the right settings. (Look for project settings in help; if you don't find a way to set this up as DV, you may need Desktop editing mode.)
    Check the PPro Wikia out; click on tutorials on the left. These are somewhat of a compromise between trial and error and training first.
