How to see the saved password in safari of iPad 3 ?

PLease help me how can I see the saved password in iPad 3 safari.

You can't, for obvious reasons (think of spying for another person's sensitive data). All you can do is deleting them.

  • How do I restrict access to the saved passwords in Safari's settings?

I just noticed there is no barrier to entry to my entire catalogue of online passwords, anyone know if I can use restrictions or something to put a passcode on that area?

"As Meg said - the iPad is meant to be used by just 1 person, so the lack of ability to "lock down" the passwords isn't really a problem when the iPad is used as intended."
I don't think Apple has ever stated the iPad as a '1 person' device. In fact in many instances it is shared between multiple users.
Also if the device is stollen that password data could cause far greater loss than the cost of the device itself especially if there are banking logins saved there. You could say hey just don't save them but it's very easy to accidentally save a login and it's not exactly intuitive to remove the data. Just the other day I had to help my Dad delete his banking details from autofill.

the master password what they r giving is not at all useful... it is not used for the saved password..
Please give a master password to get access for the saved password...
If any body others comes and sees the saved password in the system they can easily see the saved password....

If you use a Master Password then your passwords can only be accessed after you have supplied that MP during a session.
You will be prompted to enter the MP the first time it is needed in a session.
You can logout from the Software Security Device (e.g. click Cancel in the "Show Passwords" dialog) to force re-entering the MP once again.

  • Can't delete my saved passwords from Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8

When the bugs in 1Password initially disabled that application on Safari 5.1 I started saving manually entered passwords on Safari while 1Password was being fixed. Now that 1Password is working I want to remove the saved passwords on Safari as a secirity precaution.  But they won't delete; not individually, not as a group. When I click Remove All the passwords all turn blue as if about to be deleted en mass but don't disappear. Trying it by highlighting one and clicking Remove doesn;t work either.  Any suggestions?

You are much better off using the Mac OS X app Keychain Access which is pre installed on your Mac instead of a third party password manager.
This link shows the results of a Safari / 1Password forum search which reveals all the problems 1Password causes for Safari.

Your passwords are not stored in Safari per se, they are stored in Keychain Access.  /Applicatiions/Utilities. Trying to use both is causing a conflict.

In Security, clicking on the "Saved Password" button displays your current saved password for each site. It only allows you to view and delete site passwords. It does not allow you to change a password. How would you do that?

If you enter a new password Firefox should offer to change the password.
*You may not need to delete the old password. Try "Refreshing" the page, entering the site again, you may need to let Firefox fill in the old password, then enter the new password, and Firefox should ask to save the new password. See:

*If you delete the old password, you may need to "Refresh" the site after deleting the old password.

  • I want to copy the text from the SAVED PASSWORD window so i can make a txt doc for back up.... how do i do it?

is there a certain file in the '''mozilla firefox directory''' that has the saved passwords ,etc info in TXT form, somewhere on my compputer that i havent discoverd yet?

    @dmcritchie
I don't see any "sort" done at all on the resulting output. And the code on my page doesn't have any sort functions included, that I can see. ''(I know little about writing Javascript.)'' It sure doesn't "sort" as displayed in the Firefox Saved Passwords window, which is alpha from left to right - chrome:// - ftp:// - http:// - https:// - as the primary sort. And within each of those protocols there are mutli-levels of alpha sort, which are separated by each period in the URL, it seems.
The resulting output from my page seems like it may be in the order the passwords were originally saved, which is the order that data would have been originally saved in the signons.sqlite file. I can't say that 100% though, as the Profile I used earlier to test that it still works in Firefox 5.0 has been through hell and back over the last 8 or 9 years. I honestly can't remember the last time I started saving passwords from scratch in a new Profile, I have passwords from websites that I haven't been to in the last 8 years in there. I just copy the two password files into any new Profile I may create and I'm then sure I have any of the passwords I have saved since I started using Firefox.
Sorry, I don't have any idea about how to add another column with (xerox.com) pulled out of this URL (www.office.xerox.com), if I am following you. The script used basically takes the data saved in Firefox an outputs it direct, without modification, just placing that data into the correct place as per the script. I'm not sure that would even be possible, we're already hitting two security alerts in Firefox as it is.

  • How do I add a password to the saved password list?

I know how to get to the saved password list. As far as I can see there isn't any way to add site login details and password. You only have a remove and a remove all button. No add button.
Maybe you would consider this for the next upgrade.
    Thank you,
    Richard

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.<br />
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

  • In Password Preferences, how do I amend a password when Safari hasn't picked up the fact that I have changed it? Martin Shelton

In Password Preferences, how do I amend a password when Safari has not detected that I have changed it?

Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Type in the website name top right corner of that window.
Control click the website keychain then click Delete.
Back to Safari > Preferences > Passwords
    Delete that website.
Navigate to the same site on Safari. Enter your user name and new password.
Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain. That information should now be updated in Safari > Preferences > Passwords.

  • How to change a saved Password?

I mistyped a password for an account not he Internet - and saved it.  Now when I go to the sign-in page, my username and the incorrect password pop-up.  If I change the password to the correct one, it lets me sign on, but does not update the saved password.  How do I get it to do that?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
If you need to remove an incorrect saved password, you can go to Settings > Safari > Passwords & AutoFill > Saved Passwords.  There you will see a list of the passwords saved in Safari, where you can then tap Edit, and then delete a selected entry.  Next time you log in to that website, you can then save your new password.

  • How do I use "saved passwords" to access a site?

I have a list of saved passwords in firefox. So what steps do I use to access the site. If I click on the saved password entry nothing happens? I want to use firefox saved passwords software. I used to use Roboform where I had a list of logins and just clicked on the entry and the username/password was entered automatically. Can firefox do this, too? If so tell me how to do it? Where's the list of logins in firefox that I can click on and have the username & password filled in from the saved list? My windows XP/pro died so I had to transfer data to Win7. Some of my Roboform data was lost so I am starting over and want to use Firefox software for username/password to access sites similar to the way Roboform works? Tell me how?
